No you're not 'just asking' when you question our humanity, our rights, our representation, or our inclusion.

Questions about our right to exist are inherently offensive. There is no 'good faith' question about those topics. We dont need to debate our rights to exist. It's not a 'fun logic puzzle'. It's our lives. Just asking those kinds of questions is dehumanizing and discriminatory.

Cuddle Drive?

Hey guys, quick question. Does anyone have like a sex drive, but instead of for sex it's for hugs and cuddles? Like sometimes I'll get this fuzzy feeling and really want/need a hug and can't concentrate well on anything else until I get one. This can happen both randomly, or also when I hear/read about people hugging and cuddling. It's kinda weird. I'll sometimes also have platonic fantasies as I call them about me hugging/cuddling with my favorite characters.

Asexual or allo?

I’ve been labelling myself as Asexual for a bit now, but I’ve recently been thinking about changing it. It’s mostly because I don’t know what sexual attraction feels like anymore.

What I’ve been experiencing is vague sexual fantasies of people, but their faces are always darkened to the point that I can’t see their face. I can’t imagine myself having sex either. It’s usually just a placeholder in my mind. Does this still count as asexuality?

(26F) I think I'm an ace but I live in a country and a family that will never understand asexuality

Long story short. I'm from India. I have tried telling my parents, friends and even my sister that I'm asexual. Everyone thinks it's a phase. I'm being forced to think of getting married soon. I get nightmares frequently of being married forcefully.

In India, marital r*p* is not considered illegal. If I say yes to arranged marriage I'll be r*p*d practically every day. It's so hard to convince my folks that I never ever want to get married. I truly have no desire for companionship. I don't know how to find a solution. Any thoughts are welcome. Thanks in advance.

Just one extra data point in the “no, my hormones don’t need to be checked”

I figured I’d share with y’all as a group who might appreciate this, but-

I’m trans and as a result of going on HRT, they had to first take a baseline of my hormones to see where I was at, and I was fully expecting to some extent, either as an ace person or a trans person who had heard from so, so many people that it must’ve been a result of some sort of hormonal imbalance (ugh), that maybe I did have an unexpected hormonal level somewhere.

Instead, my T count to start was at the high end of the scale, but otherwise completely typical. I’ve since completely changed my hormonal balance in my body, where my T is now happily near the bottom of the scale, and surprise surprise, I was ace before and I’m ace now!

We get told so many things to explain away who we are and why we are, but it’s garbage. Be ace, eat cake.

It seems being Ace makes people think I don’t understand jokes

Whenever there’s a sexual joke or innuendo in a movie, instead of laughing, I kind of just make a face, sorta like “the Jim face” from the office.

But my friends have started being jerks about it, saying stuff like “this is a joke you SHOULD get, but you don’t”.

I understood it, I just felt uncomfortable reacting. Some of the jokes are a bit funny but others are too over the top.

Should I change my reaction to laughing?

Just because I’m asexual doesn’t mean I don’t understand anything sexual or I’m stupid/childish.
