"You cant comprehend sex because your asexual." What? Excuse me?

Backstory: Ok so I was talking with my best friend. She wants to go to her boyfriends house to hang out but her mom thinks all she wants to do is fuck her bf even tho she just wants to hang out.

At the end of her rant my friend said to me "you know the 'adult shit' but you wont understand because your asexual"

Me: "What do you mean by: 'you wont understand because your asexual'?"

She said "I'm talking about the sex thing. That's what I mean, the stuff you dont understand cuz you cant comprehend it"

I explained that i dont feel sexual attraction. ik what sex is. I can fucking comprehend it.

She backtracked and said it was a "joke". But everything she said was serious untill this point. I dont think it was a joke. We already moved the conversation along and I dont want to bring it back up cuz ik she is going to say "dude that was a joke". This just happend and I'm a little upset. However, she gets annoyed and a little mad when people get upset because of a "joke" so I dont wanna say anything.

You can still make dirty jokes/ get dirty jokes and still be asexual.

Jokes don't equal attraction.

I've been questioning whether it was valid of me to identify as asexual (more specifically aroace) when I made dirty jokes/ piled on to them just for kicks and gags with friends. After a lot of thinking I can say its valid to know about it but not having any desire to participate in the jokes you make. This one goes out to my 1am thoughts featuring a very delicious caramel cake
