Is anyone else sick of pervs?

I believe that we should discuss sex, I’m not against it. I may be ace but I’m always open to talking about sexuality and whatnot, mostly about fetishes because there are a few that make me very uncomfortable and talking with people who like those things usually helps me see their view.

With that said, I absolutely hate how horny it seems… everyone is.
I’ve felt like this for years, and it’s not just because I’m ace, I mean in general. Why is everyone so sex obsessed? I get that it’s a human thing and some people have a higher sex drive, but that’s no excuse to act like an immature 13 year old who just discovered porn.

It makes me so uncomfortable, not just as an ace but as a person. The objectification of people, especially girls, the way people glorify sex as if it’s the only thing that matters, etc.
I know it’s nothing new, but my feelings are the same regardless. It unsettles me how people perceive these topics.

Like, as a message to the world, for the sake of me, you, and any other people who feel the same, please grow the fuck up.

I hate how people have been treating me and my partner

Me and my partner are both asexual, and while it usually doesn't affect us day to day, family and "friends" have been weighing down on us. When it comes to me catching shit for it, I don't care, I'm used to it. Being labeled a frigid wife, or a prude, or seen as "depriving" my partner. Whatever. I'm used to that.

But my nonbinary partner, AMAB, gets so much shit for not being a horny, porn loving "manly man" all the time from their brother and their brother's friends. And it makes me so, so furious. Because I see how much it hurts them and how sick they get when their brother teases them or goes in graphic sexual talk with his friends just to bother them. Sometimes I have to tell them to knock it off because I can tell my partner is getting legitimately ill and upset.

Why purposefully go out of your way to do that? And their brother's friends get so angry that my partner doesn't watch porn and is sex repulsed. I guess it makes them insecure or something, or they take it as them judging their habits and life. Idk, but it's immature and disgusting.

It just bothers me. We don't judge anyone, we mind our own business, we seriously are here just trying to live our lives but people feel the need to make us more "mature" and get angry at us for.... not having the sexual relationship they want us to? Like it bothers them somehow. Please.

I also hate how people always infantilize our relationship, or act like we can't possibly be mature or have a mature relationship without sex. Just- aghhhh! It's frustrating!

We have enough to deal with already, I really wish people would leave my partner alone. They're too amazing and lovely for this shit. Wish people would leave me alone about it too, but the stuff people have been doing to my partner makes me want to throw hands.

You ever watch a movie or something and be like, dang, I am EXTREMELY asexual

I know for me, a movie on tv last night that I let play for background noise while I was doing something else really made me think that lol.

I'm pretty sure it was Vacation, the one where they go to Walley World and Chris Hemsworth is in it. It was all right, but yeah, it got pretty raunchy, something I don't mind, but listening in on Rusty propositioning to his wife that they have sex at the Four Corners Monument for it to turn out they were far from the only couple to have that idea is probably the most ace I've felt in a while lol. You ever go through something like that?

Edit: grammar

An interview from 2014 with Gillian Jacobs and Alison Brie on the set of Community. The colors aren't a perfect match, but I can't think of any other pride flags (besides aro) that it could be referencing

Not a single other ace

I’m currently on my way home from pride, fully covered in ace merch. It was the biggest pride parade in my country with thousands of people. And there was not a single other person with anything ace related there. I’ve really been looking out for it. Honestly, I feel awful and kind of alone..
