I finally bought my ace flag! It feels AWESOME to openly have something that just screams "I'm asexual"

I took some inspiration from history and contrived a foolproof invasion plan. They will never see it coming.

Interesting conversation with my endocrinologist today

She was asking the usual questions and got to the part where she asked if I was in a relationship or sexually active. She included both men and women when she asked and I said nope. she asked if I ever wanted to get in a relationship or have kids and of course I said nope again. Maybe it’s because she works in an endocrine unit so has possibly had exposure to the LGBT community or she’s just a decent person but she told me that of course that was totally fine.

Pretty nice switch up from “you’re too young to know”/“maybe one day” (I’m 22) and thought I’d share a positive experience :)

(For context I have Turner syndrome which messes with fertility so obviously if a woman with TS wants kids the endo would need to know. Not to mention I have a heart defect too so my cardiologist also needs to know if I’m pregnant/want to be pregnant)

Reminder when posting aphobia

Hi everyone.

As you may have noticed we've had a lot of posts of aphobia recently. It's really important that we continue to be a space that allows this kind of venting – however, please remember to follow our rules when doing so.

1. Always "spoiler" a post that contains direct links or screenshots of aphobia and mark it with an appropriate flair. (If you don't know how please ask a moderator before posting.) Spoiling will blur out a post until a user decides to click on it. We do this because not everyone wants to (or is able to) see aphobia pop up in their feed without warning. Remember: sharing aphobia stories should be consensual.

2. Censor any identifying information when posting screenshots – even if you don't feel the other person deserves it. We are not bullies. What's more, leaving those kinds of details in often leads the person to discovering our subreddit. That gives them a new group of people to harass and can make the aphobia spill out to the rest of the subreddit.

3. If someone posts a link to aphobia elsewhere on Reddit do not follow that link and comment/vote on the post. This is called brigading and it's against Reddit's side-wide rules. It's unlikely but a subreddit that breaks these rules can get deleted.

Thanks for taking a read. If you have any questions/thoughts you can leave a comment on this post.
