Is there a connection between being asexual and not drinking? Does anyone else here not drink, or is it just me?
I have to ask this as an honest question. I am not only asexual; I am a teetotaler, meaning I don't drink. I also don't smoke or do drugs whatsoever, either.

Whenever I go out with friends, all my friends are solely interested in drinking and all that. It's just not for me, however. I find myself the outsider of the group, which does feel a bit alienating for me.
​
Being the only ace in the crew, I do wonder if there is something to that. Seeing as alcohol is something I don't want to use, just like sex or smoking, I do wonder if there is something to not drinking and being ace.
​
So, I chose to posit this question.

So tired of sex-obsessed culture
Hi! I'm a 31F bisexual gray-asexual (leaning more toward pure asexual these days) and is anyone else sick of people/tv shows/movies constantly talking about sex as if it's the only thing driving society? Having a bad day? Sleep with someone! Getting over a breakup? Sleep with someone! Need to feel confident and better about yourself? Sleep with someone! I realized I was on the ace spectrum years ago but have only really come to terms with it recently. I've never understood everyones obsession/need for sex. It's hard to feel like I can be a successful part of society and have successful long-term relationships unless I give in and live up to these "sexy" standards set for women. I'm tired of defending and having to explain my sexuality. I'm tired of being looked at like there's something wrong with me. I'm tired of not being accepted by both the hetero and gay communites. Who's down to start an asexual dream community and reframe society to fit OUR needs instead of everyone else's?

Why is everyone more concerned about us having sex than ourselves??
I always find it kind of creepy when people (usually 20 years older than me) tell me I don’t know better and I’ll change my point of view as I grow older (even though I have been thinking like this since I was a teenager and now I’m an adult).
I don’t understand why they contradict me instead of congratulating me for not being interested in having sex, most of them think newest generations are full of precocious children, why do they think is acceptable to say I need to have sex in order to say I don’t want to have it?.
If we stop to think about it, it is very creepy how interested they are on opposing us and thinking they know our sexual orientation better than us, not only that but making arguments by offering disgusting comments about having sex (comments I began receiving even before I was of legal age)
