How I realized I was asexual.
I had this huge crush on a girl when I just started college, so I did what guys usually do in this situation. I started sitting next to her, made conversations, tried to be nice and all that stuffs. The following semester, we actually became good friends. I fell even harder for her but despite all those efforts I realized she just didn't budge at all. I spent nights wondering what the hell was wrong with me as this had happened several times throughout my school life, not a single person I'd ever had a crush on ever liked me back. Feeling like such a loser, I put some space between us after that.
Months later I finally confronted her about it but then she explained that she never had any crushes and she didn't even know how it feels like to be in love. Confused and admittedly feeling a little bit weirded out, I actually blurted "wtf are you some kind of asexual being I don't get you". Yeah somehow I ironically self-coined the term before I knew it really existed. For a while I thought about what I said, why did the biological term sound somehow familiar to how she felt like as a person. It kept me awake at night so I just googled asexual on a whim and behold! I couldn't believe what I'd just found.
I learned about many genders and the split attraction model and it just clicked, I thought they were joking about the sex stuffs and I was the normal one. Needless to say I rushed to tell her and she was like yeah I guess that's me too. She also discovered she was aro and agender while I was demiro. Everything just made sense and I've secretly adopted that label ever since. It's been almost a decade and to this day she's still one of my best buddies, as well as the only other ace person I've ever met irl. I don't really have big crushes anymore after that and I still have some feelings for her but now it's turned into more like friendly love. I'm just glad I met her.

Why do fandoms always have to ship two characters that have some friendly scenes?
I'm aro and I'm always really annoyed by this. Fandoms seem to love shipping and sometimes when there is incest or pedophilia involved they say "oh it's just fantasy it's not real so i can ship it", like no! Ok back to the "normal shipping":
Two characters just having fun, doing some normal stuff and acting friendly to eachother, nothing romantic at all, and then people ship it! Like please can't characters just be friends???

My heart breaks when I see what asexual people go through because of everyoneβs ignorance
I just wish you a lot of understanding, love and peace with what and who you are because you deserve it.
That's it.

Being a tall dude while being aroAce is the only time being a tall dude is nothing but a problem
I'm like 6'5 but now that I am not attracted to anyone the only thing it does for me is make me suffer. There are people who are interested
