Recently figured out my "orientation."
...It took me over two decades though! Haha :) I started to explain it to my family, but they don't quite understand it yet. It probably doesn't help that I think I have some kind of high functioning autism. Anyhow, thanks for reading this! God bless you, whoever you are. ;)

I Just Woke Up From A Dream And It Was So Satisfying
Morning night and afternoon, everyone! I just woke up a few minutes ago and decided to post this while it's still clear in my mind. I just had a really cool dream (that has to do with asexuality don't go!) and decided to share it.
This isn't the first dream that had to do with me being ace, although the last one was more of a nightmare. The last one was about a Japanese bottle festival where people gave each other bottles and declared there love for one another. I got approached by tuns of complete strangers, all of which I turned down obviously. But the more I turned down the more that came. Their pursuits esculated too, going from how you'd expect a kid to interact with their crush to pretty much sexual harassment.
But this isn't about **that** dream, this one was better. In this dream (or at least what I can remember) I had been abducted by aliens and they were going to do the classic probe and play. (Probe and play? I have **never** heard it called that before. Sorry if that triggered you, that was waaay to sexual sounding.)
Anyway, the aliens said that they would let me go afterwards, and said I'd probably enjoy the experiments anyway since the parts of my body they'd be experimenting with were ... my gosh I'm getting uncomfortable just writing this, and I was uncomfortable in the dream.
Now for the super satisfying part. I ran like heck, only to end up in the main control room of the ship. I climbed up the nearest high object and yelled "I'm ASEXUAL AND AROMANTIC! I DON't LIKE MATING RITUALS!" Or something like that. Long story short I ended up answering all the aliens questions about asexuality as well as other sexual and gender identities. They then said they would spread this information to the rest of the universe. The aliens got their knowledge about humans (even though it wasn't the knowledge they wanted it would do) and I didn't have to do something I wasn't comfortable with. Everyone was happy, and now not just us but everybody in the LGBT group would get more recognition. Too bad it was just a dream ...

It’s been a long 19 years of not understanding what my friends were talking about when they discussed crushes/relationships and so when I finally discovered asexuality and realised I wasn’t broken or alone I almost lost my mind.

Is my parents reaction normal?
I recently told my parents that I'm asexual, they are very open minded and supportive but when I told them they told me that I didn't meet the right person, that I was just late because I'm autistic and that I was too young to know.
