What is with the influx of shows about women’s sex lives?

Obv sexually charged shows have always been a thing but I swear I saw like 3 ads for new shows all about young women’s sex lives in the same day. ‘Single drunk female’, ‘The sex lives of college girls’ ‘sex/life’. Like I get we’re trying to normalize women liking sex and embracing their sexuality but like,,calm down. Can’t relate or connect to any of it. I’d love to see a romcom about an asexual woman in a relationship or something like that.

Edit: In case anyone might be wondering, this isn’t a hate post. I’m not a fan of sexual themes in media but I don’t exactly hate them either. I’m very happy women expressing their sexuality as a normalized thing. I was just surprised to see several of the same kind of thing come out all at the same time is all.

How do you show off your pride?

Hey! I'm the only ace i know in my social circle, so I get curious on others perspectives in the community and how they express themselves.
I'm not a ring kind of person, I feel like it doesn't fit me at all, so my sister got me a T-shirt with the asexual pride colors shaped into a rainbow. Dorky, I know! Heck, if there's a band T-shirt in our colors I'll never take it off.
Do you wear rings or other accessories to openly express your sexuality, wear a shirt like me, or something else? If you don't at all, that's okay! Doesn't mean you're not proud of your identity.

Thought I was straight passing but apparently I’m gay passing

Lesbian classmate told me that at first she thought I was gay (probably due to my uninterested on boys (+dating in general) and me calling love interests “partners” instead of boyfriend/girlfriend) and was shocked when I told her I was ace. Found it pretty funny cause I thought I was the pinnacle of the stereotypical ace (cards, dragons, introverted) and that was honestly a giant part of my imposter syndrome when discovering myself.

I came out to my mom and it was a disaster

SHEESH what a fkn rollercoaster of misunderstanding.

I told my mom I was asexual a few days ago and she did her own research on it, which I appreciate her actually doing her own search but MY GOD THE OLDER GENERATION DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO NAVIGATE THE INTERNET.

When she researched what it was she gave a little pep talk today and said She found something about a woman who made herself into a real life Barbie and associated all aro/ace people with people who were like that? And then she also hit me with the “some people are traumatized and just shut down that part of themselves” and how she knew a girl who was r*ped and was against marriage until she just found the right person that fixed her! I said “I’ve never been through anything like that” and she’s like “I know but I’m just saying-“

Like I’m so pissed rn. WHAT IS HER POINT?? This was a big mistake. I honestly thought she wouldn’t make such a big deal over it or would be a bit more accepting. She validated my feelings but then invalidated OTHER asexual people by saying their broken and mentally ill basically and then just ended it off with saying not to associate myself with people like that. I just said “okay” to everything cause I was too angry at this point to say anything further honestly. Thank goodness it’s over and I learned my lesson never to open up to her about anything again.
