I wish we could normalise platonic hugging

Why do allos find it weird if you wanna cuddle with someone that's just a friend and have no romantic/sexual feelings towards?

A lot of people won't hug someone the same gender as them because they don't wanna be seen as gay, and won't hug someone a different gender as them because they don't want people to think that they're together. Then of these people go on to complain that they're touch starved.

I just don't get it? Who actually cares what other people think? I cuddle with my best friend while some people think that we're together, but I don't care because it's damn nice to get hugged.

Sure don't hug a stranger or someone you've just met, but why not cuddle with someone you trust? Platonic love exists too god damnit.

But a lot people who are in relationships think that if they're partner hugs them then they're gonna have sex, and won't bother to have intimacy with them if they know they're not gonna have sex. I don't understand people like this.

Hugging does not equal sex.

I honestly really hate being an ace guy sometimes

It feels very lonely, like nobody gets me. With masculinity the way it is, everyone always expects that if you're a man, you must always be thinking about sex or wanting to have sex, and if you try to tell people otherwise, they don't understand you.

Even in asexual communities, I feel like a lot of people don't get you. A lot of people seem confused as to how a guy can be ace. Even the people who do accept that you're asexual treat you like you're fundamentally different from other men, which may be well-intended but just feels like it's invalidating towards your gender.

Sometimes I wonder if it would easier to just get a Viagra prescription and pretend to be hetero.
