Told My Mom Today That I am 99% Sure I am Asexual

My mom picked me up from the school dorms today since the fall semester is over. On the way home, we had lunch and talked about a lot of things. I've been wanting to build a closer relationship with my mom, as we aren't as close as I would like. So, I told her that I'm "99% sure I'm asexual." She put down her fork, rested her chin in her hands, and asked, "Is that so?" I said it was. She paused for a moment, then said, "I don't believe I know as much about that as I probably should, but if that's what you feel is your authentic self, I will accept it and support you unconditionally there." I wasn't sure what she would think (it's very hard to tell what she thinks sometimes, as she's often pretty reserved, though I know she cares about me), so hearing really gave me a pleasant and grateful feeling. I love my mom.
