A concerned parent.

My 16yr old daughter thinks she may be straight, asexual and finds the thought of sex repulsive. Most of her friends are either gay/bi and girl/boy mad and she does not understand what all the fuss is about. The only thing she is passionate about are animals and gaming.

Q. If she is asexual, does that mean she will never be attracted to someone or fall in love?

Sorry for my ignorance. I cannot bare the thought of her being alone because she is beautiful, loving, accepting and kind.

I hope I haven't unintentionally offended anyone reading this.

Would you have sex for biological kids?

Just as the title says. Would you have sex to procreate/have biological kids?

Sorry if this question seems intrusive. I’m not sure if I’m ace or not and one of the reasons why is that I want biological kids, which requires sex, so not sure if that disqualifies me from the ace spectrum.

So, I’ve decided to ask what actual asexuals have to say about this.

Told my Muslim friend from the Middle East that I'm ace.

I was raised in a Christian household, so I have an idea how some religious people can react to finding out someone they know isn't "normal". So I heasitated a bit on this, but figured ah well, they're a pretty awesome person. They might be cool with it. So I decided to speak up when a topic naturally went in the direction of attraction. They were the first person I told, and they were super cool with it! They had some misconceptions about what that meant, but asked me to explain and were super respectful about everything. Any time they asked me a question, the question started with something like "I'm so sorry if this is rude of me to ask" or "I really hope I'm not being offensive or anything" even though they definitely didn't need to do that. Nothing they said was offensive at all. They were super supportive and told me that they'd look into asexuality more to better understand my experiences. It's been a couple weeks now, and literally nothing has changed in our friendship. They're the only person I've told, so now they get all the memes I relate to and all the frustrations I happen to think about. They're heckin' awesome.

Just wanted to share that because it made me happy, and it was my first time even talking about asexuality outside of reddit. :)

Hearing people talk about sex grosses me out to the point I want to vomit and feel my heart tighten. Why is this happening?

My friend was telling me about their sex life. And just the idea of a person I know having sex makes me feel that way. Why is this happening? I want to be a good friend but I also don't want to feel like that all the time I hear about something sexual. Please help. At this point I'm considering abandoning all my friends to make sure I don't feel like that ever again.
