People are trying to wipe away the little ace representation we have in characters and it’s making me upset
I was surfing IG and I saw an edit with Bucky and Yelena from the MCU (winter soldier and black widow)
The edit was saying how they’d have a cute friendship…. But of course people in the comments were quick to comment “I ship it…. I hope they’ll be a couple that’d be so cute…etc”
Some MVP replied to ALL of those comments correcting them that Yelena is canon to be aroace, to which many others replied “Well they can always change it in the MCU for her to date someone…. She doesn’t have to be ace in the movies…”
It just makes me sad that people are always fighting for representation when it comes to characters sexuality’s (asking for more gay/lesbian relationships) but ace rep? Nope. Why is that? Because then people “can’t ship” their favorite characters.

The Chicago Tribune wrote an article about us, and my dad saw it and saved it for me to read. He knows I'm ace, but he's an older guy so I didn't think he really understood what that meant. I'm oddly touched by the gesture

Explaining Asexuality
Straight is standing on one foot, gay is standing on the other. Bisexual is standing on both feet, pansexual is lying on the ground, and asexual is floating.

Came out to partner. Was more than pleasantly surprised.
So this morning, my partner asked me if I was asexual. He is a heterosexual male, so this was surprising. I was scared to come out because I have been struggling with my identity for some time, and only recently realized that I am asexual. (I didn't really have a chance to explore the possibility before.)
I told him my concerns and asked him, "Why bring this up?" He told me he got to thinking about a video about Todd Chavez from Bojack Horseman and things just clicked for him.
He told me it doesn't matter. That he will support me no matter what, because this changes nothing. I'm still me. Ya'll my heart melted. I love him so much. (I'm non-binary, but was AFAB)

Just broke up with my girlfriend of 5 years because I'm ace
I'm a heteroromantic asexual and she is omnisexual. We've been together for 5 years in a long distance relationship with barely an argument. We never went to sleep angry with each other. She said she was okay with me being ace btw.
And suddenly she started growing distant, so I asked her what's up and she just said that she wished we sexted more. So I said whenever she wants we can sext so we did that for a while.
Then when she complained about the sexting being not enough we talked about "friends with benefits" so she can have her sexual experience that way
And now she suddenly comes to me and says she has lost interest in me and she has lost her spark. She said that things would be different if I wasn't ace and that she wished I was allo.
5 years of a wonderful relationship, we loved each other to the moon and back and it ends because I'm asexual? Is sex seriously that important? Why is it such a large factor? If there is sex with no love, why not love but no sex or deeply sexual behavior? And why should I get hurt this badly just for being the way I am?
