Nadezhda Vladimirovna Kurchenko (1950β1970) β flight attendant with Aeroflot's Sukhumi Aviation Detachment. She was killed while trying to prevent a hijacking. By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, she was posthumously awarded the Order of the Red Banner for courage and heroism.
