ለግብርና ባለሙያዎችና ለእንሰት አብቃይ ሞዴል አርሶ አደሮች ሥልጠና እየተሰጠ ነው

በአርባ ምንጭ ዩኒቨርሲቲ አይዪሲ ፕሮጀክት (AMU-IUC) አማካኝነት የእንሰት አመራረት እና የእንስሳት ምግብ ዋስትናን ለማሻሻል የሚረዱ አዳዲስ ዘዴዎች እንዲሁም እንሰትና የእንስሳት ተዋፅኦን ለገበያ ማብቃት ዙሪያ ለግብርና ባለሙያዎችና ለእንሰት አብቃይ ሞዴል አርሶ አደሮች ከታኅሣሥ 23-24/2017 ዓ/ም የሚቆይ በተግባር የተደገፈ የአሠልጣኞች ሥልጠና እየተሰጠ ነው።

ሥልጠናው የፕሮጀክቱ ሁለተኛ ምዕራፍ የምርምር ውጤቶችን ወደ ማኅበረሰብ የማውረድ ፕሮግራም (Research Outreach) ሥራ አካል ነው፡፡

ሠልጣኞቹ ከቦረዳ፣ ጨንቻ ዙሪያ፣ ጋጮ ባባ፣ ገረሴ፣ ካምባ፣ ቦንኬ እና ቆጎታ ወረዳዎች የተወጣጡ ሲሆን የእንሰት አጠውልግ በሽታና ተባዮች መተላለፊያ መንገዶች፣ ምልክቶች እና የመከላከያና የመቆጣጠሪያ መንገዶች፣ የእንሰት ችግኝ ማባዛት እና የፍግ አጠቃቀም፣ የእንስሳት መኖን ማሻሻልና የምግብ ይዘቱ ሳይቀንስ ማቆየት፣ የእንሰት ውጤቶችንና የእንስሳት ተዋጽኦን ለገበያ ማድረስ እና ሌሎችም ርእሰ ጉዳዮች በሥልጠናው የሚዳሰሱ ይሆናል።

ሥልጠናውን በዩኒቨርሲቲው የግብርና ሳይንስ ኮሌጅ ተመራማሪዎች ፕ/ር ይስሃቅ ከቸሮ፣ ዶ/ር አሸናፊ አዛገ፣ ዶ/ር ሳቡራ ሻራ እና ዶ/ር ገዛኸኝ ጋሮ የሚሰጡ ይሆናል።

Call for a Public Lecture on Water, Power and Politics: Ethiopian Grand Renaissance Dam (GERD)

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Ing. Seleshi Bekele will deliver a public lecture on the Ethiopian Grand Renaissance Dam (GERD) on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 2:30 PM. The event will take place in the New Hall near the Main Gate of the Main Campus. It's learnt that Dr. Birhanu Bulcha, a NASA scientist, Dr. Amir Aman, who just left WB director's post, and Eng Hizkyas, who used to be Aretospa Designer/Programmer, will grace the program.

All academic and research staff, undergraduate, Masters and PhD students and others interested are invited for this important meeting of high level experience sharing.

Brief Profile of Ambassador Dr. Ing. Seleshi Bekele

Ambassador Dr. Ing. Seleshi Bekele is Member of Ethiopian Parliament. He has served as an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to USA from May 2022 to July 2024. He served as Minister of Water, Irrigation and Energy of Ethiopia for 5 years and advisor to the Prime Minister of Ethiopia before his role as an Ambassador.

Ambassador Seleshi, as Hydraulic and Hydropower Engineering professional, has led the correction of the construction and negotiation of Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, the largest hydropower station in Africa. He served as Senior Advisor of United Nations on water, climate, energy, agriculture and sustainable development areas. He was Senior Researcher and Africa Director at International Water Management Institute. Dr. Ing. Seleshi has taught course in Universities in Ethiopia and Germany including serving as Dean of Arba Minch Water Technology Institute that which transformed to full-fledged Arba Minch University.

He studied Civil Engineering (B.Sc.) at Addis Ababa University, M.Sc. in Hydraulic Engineering and Hydrology at University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, England, and Ph.D. in Hydraulic Engineering at Dresden University of Technology, Germany. He published many referred publications and numerous other papers, book chapters and conference proceedings.
