Hello everyone,

It is with deep sorrow that I announce that I will be resigning as the owner of MCDEV. It’s been a good run. Thirteen months. But all things have to come to an end.

Since I owe you all an explanation, I will explain my reasons for resigning below. These reasons are in no particular order.

Firstly, I’m just tired, and ready to move on. I’ve been running this community for 13 months, and I’ve put a lot of time into it. I’ve put time on both the front end of improving this community, maintaining the archives, and moderating the chats, as well as the backend, of weeding out bad faith actors, making decisions with the board, and writing long scripts for videos. After all of that, I’m just burnt out, and I feel that it’s time for me to move on to other things.

Secondly, I’m busy IRL, and I no longer feel that I am capable of carrying out my duties as the owner of MCDEV. I do not feel that it is fair to cling on to the position of owner, while not being able to carry out what is expected of the owner.

Thirdly, I believe that this community needs a fresh start, with a new owner, who may have new, fresh ideas on how to handle the community.

I have had many fond memories with this community. The things we found, the people I met, the mindless talk about 2b2t, the work we did, I will never forget that.

I hope the new owner, @sberchan, can turn this community around, and get it active again. I really do miss the endless discussions of the old community, and I really do hope we can get back to such a point.

I will continue to stay in the community as an admin, although my presence will be greatly reduced, and I will be less active.

Thank you for your understanding, and I wish the new owner, @sberchan, good luck in running the community.

For those who don't know, my YouTube channel was terminated due to the abuse of copyright strikes by various Mojang partners on March 3, 2022. It's been over nine months since then, and I finally managed to get it back.

So yea, I guess, subscribe to my "new" (old, revived) channel.

As for why my mcdev videos are down, I privated them. Those videos should be back up in a few weeks.

I'm just glad I got my old channel back... so many memories... I remember team killing on the Hive, I remember grieifing on OneMC... wow.

Hello everyone. I have very tragic news to tell you all.

Due to a situation that I cannot discuss, but involved a crucial oversight in the security of the MCDEV Archive, parts of the MCDEV Archive's Telegram channels have been deleted.

This includes the following Telegram channels:
- MCDEV China Misc Archive
- MCDEV Bedrock and Misc Archive

If anyone has backups of the contents of these archives, please DM me immediately. This is crucial for the security and future of MCDEV.

Hello everyone, thank you all for your help in the reconstruction of the MCDEV Archive. Due to your assistance, we are sure that we will be able to reconstruct at least 90% of the archive, including 100% of the archives of all unmodified MC China versions between 1.13 and 2.10, at least 80% of Bedrock file data, at least 70% of MCStudio/PCLauncher file data, and at least 40% of modified MC China file data (commonly referred to as "modpc" versions).

However, there is still much work to do, and there are still some files missing. More specifically, we still need files from the following three archives:
- MCDEV China Misc Archive
- MCDEV Bedrock & Misc Archive
- MCDEV MCStudio & PCLauncher Archive

If anyone has any files from these three archives, please dm them to @TantalusC. Anything helps, whether it's one file or the whole archive.

Pro tip to find files forwarded from these archives: search the names of these archives in the Telegram search bar. (For the third one, search up "mcstudio" and "pclauncher" individually, as we are not sure if this was the exact name of the archive)

Hello everyone!

I am happy to announce the long-awaited relaunch of the MCDEV Archive!

As you may know, on 25 February 2024, Sberchan, who had ownership over several of the MCDEV Archive channels, received copyright notices informing him that the aforementioned archive channels were in violation of copyright law. Instead of doing the sensible thing (taking backups of the archive channels and informing the MCDEV leadership), Sberchan decided to go completely off the rails, abandon his duty to MCDEV and the Minecraft community, and hand over his account to Spawnrys. Spawnrys then deleted all of the archive channels.

In doing so, Sberchan and Spawnrys betrayed not only MCDEV, but the entire Minecraft community, as they destroyed an archive that countless people across the Minecraft community use in order to access and research the developer versions of Minecraft. In their recklessness and dereliction of duty, they destroyed access to a vital resource for technical Minecrafters, archivists, mapmakers, YouTubers, and many other community members.

As punishment for this blatant disregard for their duty to MCDEV and the Minecraft community, Sberchan and Spawnrys have been removed from all positions of authority, trust, and management within MCDEV and MDLC.

Because the MCDEV Matrix was managed by Sberchan as an irremovable administrator and de facto owner, it had to be purged. Please join our new Matrix space: https://matrix.to/#/#boycottmojang:matrix.org

Furthermore, the MCDEV Archive has been fully reconstructed. Thanks of the help of our wonderful community (special shout out to @andrew_pc, @n0xxyy, and @artemsu_black), we have been able to recover 100% of unmodified MC China versions, 100% of the MCDEV MCStudio & PCLauncher Archive, 100% of the MCDEV Bedrock & Misc Archive, and ≥90% of the MCDEV China Misc Archive.

This only goes to show that no matter what happens to us, MCDEV can never be destroyed, and we will always continue in our commitment to serve the Minecraft community by providing the community access to the largest archive of Minecraft developer versions in the world.
