IUCAA ACE TLC course "Astronomical data analysis using Python"

The Teaching Learning Centre of the Astronomy Centre for Educators at IUCAA is offering a course "Astronomical data analysis using Python". The course will be delivered by Professor Yogesh Wadadekar, NCRA-TIFR and will consist of about 10 lectures and 2 tutorial sessions. The tutorial sessions will be conducted by Dr Preetish Mishra from IUCAA. The duration of the course is from 8th November 2021 to 18th December 2021. The last date for registration is 1st November 2021.

The course is meant for astronomy educators, post doctoral fellows
and research scholars. Those interested are requested to register

IUCAA and NCRA-TIFR Radio Astronomy Winter School 2021

We are pleased to announce that the Radio Astronomy Winter School 2021 will be held online from 20th December 2021 to 1st January 2022. As was the case last year, both faculty members of colleges and universities are welcome to apply. Each selected faculty member will be assigned as a mentor to a group of four to five students. This would give an opportunity for the students to interact with the selected faculty members in addition to interacting with the faculty and staff of IUCAA and NCRA-TIFR.

The emphasis of the Radio Astronomy Winter School is on doing hands-on radio astronomy related experiments, in addition to participating in the online lectures and discussion sessions. Education - will focus on astronomy teaching methods and assessment at school level
To strengthen the efforts to support astronomy education worldwide, the International Astronomical
Union (IAU) has announced the founding of four new centres in its global network of the Office of
Astronomy for Education (OAE). The OAE Centre India will be managed by the Inter-University Centre
for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA), Pune, an autonomous institution under the University Grants
Commission, Ministry of Education, in association with the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education
of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (HBCSE-TIFR), Mumbai. They are the leading institutes in
