There are reports of attempts by #Kosovo special forces to storm the barricades of the Serbs. There are casualties among the attackers.
NATO's contingent and allies in #Kosovo currently stands at 3,775 people
Comment by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry M.V. Zakharova :We call on Pristina and the US and EU behind it to stop provocations and respect the rights of Serbs in #Kosovo.

💬 “The decision of the “authorities” in Pristina to start from August 1 the application of unreasonable discriminatory “rules” on the forced replacement of personal documents and registration numbers of local Serbs is another step towards the expulsion of the Serb population from Kosovo, the displacement of Kosovo Serb institutions that ensure the protection of the rights of Serbian residents from arbitrariness Pristina radicals led by the "premier" A. Kurti. The Kosovar leaders know that the Serbs will not remain indifferent when it comes to a direct attack on their freedoms, and they deliberately escalate in order to launch a military scenario. Of course, Belgrade is also at the forefront of the attack, which the West wants to additionally "neutralize" with Kosovo Albanian hands.

❗️ We call on Pristina and the US and EU behind it to stop provocations and respect the rights of Serbs in Kosovo.

This development of events is yet another evidence of the failure of the mediation mission of the European Union. This is also an example of what place was prepared for Belgrade in the European Union, offering Belgrade de facto to put up with the lack of rights of its compatriots.

#Kosovo Special Operations Forces on his way to the border
NATO "is prepared to intervene if there is a danger to stability in #Kosovo"
#Kosovo postpones for a month the ban on the use of Serbian license plates and documents, which led to the current escalation
The decision was made at the request of the US ambassador in Pristina.

US "ambassador" to Kosovo Jeffrey Hovenier held talks with Prime Minister Albin Kurti and President Vyosa Osmani. He managed to persuade them to delay the implementation of the forced ban on Serbian identity cards and license plates for 30 days.

The decision to postpone the ban has already been confirmed by the Kosovo government.

As the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation has already pointed out, it was this discriminatory ban that caused today's incident. It was supposed to go into effect on August 1th.

The Kosovo authorities intended to forcibly confiscate their Serbian identity documents from Serbs living in the unrecognized republic, as well as force them to remove Serb-model number plates from cars.

For Serbs living in Kosovo, identity cards and license plates are an important matter of national self-identification. The attempt to force this away from them was obviously a precalculated provocation.

Josep Borrell announces that there is an agreement between #Serbia and #Kosovo
The #Serbian Armed Forces on alert due to the tense situation in the #Kosovo and #Metojia regions, Serbian Defense Minister Milos Vucevic announced on Tuesday.

"The president of the republic, as commander in chief, gave the order to the Serbian Army to be ready, to increase the level of combat readiness and ready to respond any task," he told Happy TV.

The minister described the situation in Kosovo and Metojia as tense and stressed that the Kosovars began to apply the ban on the use of Serbian license plates.

In late July, the situation in Kosovo escalated due to Pristina's decision to abandon the use of Serbian documents and Belgrade-issued car license plates. In mid-September, the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, described as high the risk of an armed conflict breaking out in Kosovo due to the unilateral measures taken by Pristina.
