Why is it easier to imagine the end of the world than the end of corruption?

𝑻𝒆𝒎𝒑𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏

When we are tempted, we have a choice - we can either believe Satan's lies that God is holding out on us, or else we can trust that God has something better; even if we don't immediately perceive it, or even if we do perceive it to some degree, but we lose sight of it at the first sign of trouble or when we see something shiny or we just get bored.

It's about delayed gratification, about wanting the best for yourself and those around you by showing up as your best self and trusting that your life is not random but that God is orchestrating events behind the scenes, for your highest good and for his glory.

If and when we fail (we all fall short) God gives us grace to try again, but we will still suffer the consequences to a degree.
