In the Kostyantynivka direction, Russian and Ukrainian forces have both made progress, capturing new positions in and around Toretsk.

North of Toretsk, Russian forces advanced and captured the Berezka children's camp, which is situated in the low-lying ground next to two reservoirs. Additionally, Russian forces advanced northwest from the forests outside Toretsk and entrenched in four residential buildings next to the railway line on the northern edge of the town of Shcherbynivka.

Ukrainian forces advanced from a terykon, into the northern part of Toretsk again, bypassing another terykon and capturing a storage complex as well as a couple of other buildings on the northern outskirts of the city.

+ ~0.77km² in favour of Russia.
+ ~0.23km² in favour of Ukraine.
Russian forces continue to advance on the eastern flank of Pokrovsk and have made progress in three main directions.

Most of the advances were made in the west, with Russian forces pushing northwest and southwest from treeline positions, capturing further treelines near the Pokrovsk - Kostyantynivka highway. They also advanced to and captured the eastern end of a forest plantation and seized an isolated treeline with a trench stronghold. All of these positions are on the tactical heights

To the northeast, Russian forces advanced from their positions in the forest outside the village of Berezivka, and entered the settlement from the east, quickly capturing it.

In the east, Russian forces from the 33rd Regiment of the 20th Motorised Rifle Division advanced from their positions in the central part of the village of Tarasivka and cleared out the remaining Ukrainian positions in the northern houses, completing its capture.

+ ~4.49km² in favour of Russia.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Russian forces continued to advance and completed the capture of the village of Nadiivka.

After seizing the agricultural buildings on the northwestern outskirts of the village, Russian forces cleared out the remaining Ukrainian positions which were encircled in the western houses, likely capturing Ukrainian soldiers.

Additionally, further north Russian forces advanced towards the village of Novooleksandriivka, capturing further treeline positions and gaining a foothold in the next forest plantation over.

+ ~1.35km² in favour of Russia.
In western Donetsk Oblast, Russian forces continued to advance in the direction of the village of Bahatyr, and captured further treeline positions.

Russian forces advanced north along four treelines, capturing positions there and reaching the road from the village of Rozlyv. Additionally, they made progress to the east, capturing the rest of the forest plantations which were previously in the grey zone.

Putin has announced a 72-hour truce in Ukraine from midnight on May 8 to midnight on May 11 for Russia's victory day.
The Ukrainian Air Force announced that a Ukrainian Su-27 was lost during a combat mission this morning. It was likely shot down over Sumy Oblast considering Russian S-400 air defence activity at the same time as Ukrainian tactical aircraft flights over the region, which fit in with the timeframe provided by the Ukrainian Air Force.

The pilot was able to eject and survived.

Threat of storm shadow cruise missile launches for Crimea. Ukrainian Su-24/MiG-29 aircraft flew from Dnipropetrovsk to Mykolaiv Oblast.
Russian air defence from Crimea/Zaporizhzhia Oblast is attempting to shoot down the Ukrainian Su-24/MiG-29s.
Pakistani defence minister Khawaja Asif stated that an Indian incursion into Pakistan is "imminent" and that Pakistani forces have been reinforced.

"In that situation, some strategic decisions have to be taken" he told Reuters.

He added that if a war is to break out, both sides should refrain from using nuclear weapons.
Pakistani defence minister Khawaja Asif also stated in the interview with Reuters that Pakistan would only use nuclear weapons if there is a direct threat to their existence. Pakistan's military is currently on high alert.
ISIS claimed responsibility for killing five Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighters near Deir Ezzor, northeastern Syria.
Clashes broke out between Indian and Pakistani forces at the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir for the fifth consecutive day. It’s unclear which part of the LoC is the location of the clashes, however the Leepa Valley is the most plausible option considering the past clashes there.
The Liberal Party, led by Prime minister Mark Carney is projected to win the 2025 Canadian federal election. With 48% of votes counted, the Liberal Party is sitting at 42.7%, compared to Pierre Poilievre's Conservative Party's 41.6%.

Just three months ago, the Conservatives were polling at around 45%, compared to the Liberals who were at just 20%, however, following the inauguration of U.S. President Donald Trump, the Liberals began to skyrocket in the polls.

Clashes have broken out the city of Jaramana, Damascus governorate, Syria, for the second time in the past 24 hours.

Initially clashes broke out between Sunni Islamists and Druze factions, until HTS security forces moved to the city, closed off all entrances, and advanced into the city, taking control over it, forcing the Sunni Islamist groups to withdraw from their positions in the eastern suburbs. 2 deaths were reported.

These second clashes are now taking place between Druze factions and HTS government forces. Deaths and injuries have been reported. Most of the fighting is focused on the Al-Naseem checkpoint.

Clashes also occurred in Sahnaya, Damascus governorate, as well as in Al-Sanamayn, Dara'a governorate.
