The IDF and Palestinian sources both confirm that the head of the Jenin Battalion, Nur Bitawi, was killed by Israeli forces from the 442nd "Samaria" Territorial Brigade, Shin Bet and border police after they surrounded a building on the eastern outskirts of…
The Saraya Al-Quds Brigades (armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad) announced that their fighters from the Jenin Battalion attacked Israeli soldiers and equipment with small-arms fire at the Al Jalama Checkpoint, on the West Bank - Israel Border. They claimed that Israeli forces suffered casualties.
The militants likely moved from the town of Al-Yamoun (where the small armed group, the "Yamoun company" is based), through the joint Palestinian Authority - IDF administered territory, to attack the checkpoint from the southwest.
As the statement described the fighters as being from the Jenin Battalion (the group which used to be dedicated purely to the city of Jenin and its refugee camp prior to its military occupation), it confirms my previous hypothesis that some of the surviving militants from Jenin who managed to escape the city, linked up with other Palestinian cells from the larger Jenin Brigades in nearby towns and villages in the Jenin Governorate, such as Al-Yamoun.
This attack on the Israeli checkpoint (if true) is the first Palestinian-directed attack on an Israeli position in the west bank in nearly a year. Ever since a small series of attacks on Israeli checkpoints in mid-2024 in retaliation for Israel's operation Summer Camps, all Palestinian resistance operation has been in the form of conducing minor guerrilla attacks with small-arms and machine-gun fire, and improvised explosive device (IED) attacks on Israeli forces raiding various towns and cities.
The statement said that this was the "initial response" to the Israeli assassination of the commander of the Jenin Brigades, which occurred yesterday on the outskirts of the city of Nablus. (key word: Initial). It remains to be seen if this is a part of a larger response of small attacks on Israeli checkpoints in the northern West Bank, or if this is just a one off. I'm personally more inclined to believe the latter considering how degraded the Jenin Brigades is, but we will see.

Some sources are saying that the 125 MLRS missiles are actually ATACMS. This would make more sense considering the number that is being delivered.

Interesting timing.
Ukraine and the EU have released a joint statement:
Here are the key points:
There should be a full and unconditional ceasefire for at least 30 days. If Russia calls for such conditions, this can only be considered as an effort to prolong the war and undermine diplomacy.
The ceasefire requires effective monitoring, which could be successfully implemented in close coordination with the United States.
The ceasefire should last for at least 30 days to create room for diplomacy. During this period, diplomatic work should focus on outlining the security, political and humanitarian foundations of peace.
The strengthening of Ukraine’s Defence and Security Forces will be the primary guarantee of Ukraine’s sovereignty and security.
A key element of security guarantees to Ukraine should also be a reassurance force.
If Russia refuses a full and unconditional ceasefire, stronger sanctions should be applied to its banking and energy sectors, targeting fossil fuels, oil and the shadow fleet.
Putin will make an announcement in roughly 20 minutes.
