Its too early to say that this is a new offensive, like some have been claiming. But this doesn't seem to just be a few soldiers running across the border and taking a selfie either.

Let's wait and see.

Reports suggest that at least 3 Ukrainian mine clearing vehicles, including 2 IMR-2s and 1 UR-77 crossed the border. Russian sources report that all three of those vehicles were destroyed. A tank and an infantry fighting vehicle with soldiers also seem to have crossed the border, with clashes ongoing between those soldiers (who dismounted) and Russian paratroopers from the 217th Airborne Regiment.

Ukrainian forces have reportedly opened up a second vector of attack in Glushkovsky district of Kursk Oblast, with armoured vehicles pushing from Bezsalivka in Sumy Oblast to the rear of Tetkino.

If true, it's likely that Ukraine is trying to cut off Tetkino from the rear by reaching the Seym River.

Heavy artillery, mortar and drone strikes continue in the Tetkino area of Kursk Oblast as Ukrainian forces continue their attempts to break through under heavy fire cover.

High activity of reconnaissance drones continues on both sides as Russia attempts to spot and destroy Ukrainian equipment.

Ukrainian forces have reportedly opened up a third vector of attack in Glushkovsky district, Kursk Oblast, this time towards the Novy Trud tract.

They are taking advantage of bad weather conditions. Fierce battles are reported at these three points on the map. Rain is seriously complicating drone usage.

Novi Put tract, Glushkovsky District, Kursk Oblast.

Reports suggest several Ukrainian IMR-2 mine-clearing vehicles cleared a path in the minefields at the border. However, rather than armoured vehicles driving through, it's likely that small groups of 5-7 soldiers both on foot and with ATVs drive through. Battles are ongoing with Russian forces defending the tract.

Large concentrations of Ukrainian manpower and equipment are reported in the Tetkino - Novi put area. Ukraine seems to be stretching their forces to cover a larger area.

Russian sources report that the tank which entered Tetkino was destroyed.

Apparently the IFV (A Stryker) was destroyed too.

Ukrainian forces have set up a pontoon bridge in the area of Iskryskivshchyna, Sumy Oblast, to allow for IMR-2s and possible AFVs and Tanks to move to the international border.

Ukrainian IMR-2s have broken through the Dragon's teeth line near Novi Put, Kursk Oblast. Russian FPV drones are targeting them, but poor weather conditions and more vehicles being sent in is complicating things for them.

Russian forces have captured the village of Kotlyarivka, Novopavlivka direciton, Donetsk Oblast.

Ukrainian glide-bombs targeted Tetkino, Kursk Oblast. Tactical aircraft are still in the area and there is a threat of repeated launch maneuvers.

Update on the operational situation in Glushkovsky district - 14:00 05/05/25:

Tetkino direction:
Ukrainian forces do not stop their attempts to break through the border. Infantry have managed to penetrate the border area and have entered the treelines southeast of Tetkino. It is unclear if any positions have been consolidated yet. A grey zone has been added on the map for now. Russian FPV drones and artillery is actively striking the manpower in the treelines. Further reinforcements are being brought up to the international border for future attempts to break through Russian positions.

Ukrainian tactical aircraft dropped glide-bombs on Russian positions in Tetkino, attempting to cover for the Ukrainian units advancing on the ground. Ukrainian Hexacopter "Baba Yaga" drones are operating throughout Tetkino, conducting drone drops on Russian movements and soldiers. Russia is countering this by striking at the Baba yagas with FPV drones.

Zarya direction (east of Tetkino):
Ukraine continues to bring equipment to the village of Bezsalivka in Sumy Oblast following the initial attempt to break through the border towards Zarya towards the rear of Tetkino. They are being targeted and destroyed by Russian artillery and FPV drones.

Novi Put direciton:
Russian sources report that the Ukrainian forces who attempted to cross the border into the Novi Put tract were destroyed, but that more than 300 infantry and up to 20 units of various armoured and light armoured vehicles (including IMR, UR, BBM and ATVs) were accumulated in the village of Pavlivka, Sumy Oblast.

Extremely high activity of FPV drones on both sides continue, with Russian drones striking Ukrainian IMR-2 mine clearers and other vehicles, including both ones still in Sumy Oblast and the ones which broke through the dragon's teeth defences. Artillery is working extensively on both sides, targeting positions, infantry and vehicles.

Russian forces are now just 2.6km (or two fields) from the border with Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

This is the closest they have ever been.

Associated Press, citing two Israeli officials stated that Israel has approved plans to seize the entire Gaza Strip and remain there for an unspecified amount of time.

This comes as Israel's public broadcaster Kan reported that the IDF is set to destroy Hamas and its military and governmental capabilities, and separate civilians from Hamas for "operational freedom of action".

Israel will remain in the captured territories in accordance with the "Rafah Model" where "all the threats have been flattened, and it has become part of the security zone."

This operation will be known as Operation Gideon Chariots.
