We ask Allah for beneficial knowledge. Do you know what beneficial knowledge is? It is what was sent down in the Qurʾān, and the Messenger explained the Qurʾān with his statements and his actions and what he did not prohibit.

The Prophet said, “Whoever desires sometimes other than my sunnah, then he has no connection to me.”
قال عليه السلام: " من رغب عن سنتي فليس مني ".
So, O brother, you should contemplate Allah's Book and make it a habit to continually read through the two Ṣaḥīḥs, Sunan al-Nasāʾī, Riyāḍ al-Ṣāliḥīn of al-Nawawī as well as his book of Aḏkār. Then you would be saved and successful.

If something from her is brought close, they are ecstatic. But if they are veiled from her, they are depressed. Surrounding them is subservience. Worries cover them. They are not pleased with a flower from her except what follows is heartbreak.
يدورون حولها، ويرتاعون لفقدها، صاحبهم محبُّها، وعدوُّهم تاركها، إن نالوا منها فرحوا، وإن حُجبوا عنها حزنوا، يغشاهم الذُّلُّ، ويعلوهم القلق، لا يفرحون منها بزهرةٍ؛ إلَّا تبعتها حسرةٌ.

مساكين عبيد الدُّنيا:
They wander around her. They seek to irrigate what is lost within her. They befriend those who love her. Their enemies are those who have abandoned her. If something from her is brought close, they are ecstatic. But if they are veiled from her, they are depressed. Surrounding them is subservience. Worries cover them. They are not pleased with a flower from her except what follows is heartbreak.
يدورون حولها، ويرتاعون لفقدها، صاحبهم محبُّها، وعدوُّهم تاركها، إن نالوا منها فرحوا، وإن حُجبوا عنها حزنوا، يغشاهم الذُّلُّ، ويعلوهم القلق، لا يفرحون منها بزهرةٍ؛ إلَّا تبعتها حسرةٌ.

مساكين عبيد الدُّنيا: يدورون حولها، ويرتاعون لفقدها، صاحبهم محبُّها، وعدوُّهم تاركها، إن نالوا منها فرحوا، وإن حُجبوا عنها حزنوا، يغشاهم الذُّلُّ، ويعلوهم القلق، لا يفرحون منها بزهرةٍ؛ إلَّا تبعتها حسرةٌ.
On the authority of ʿAwf b. Mālik al-Ashjaʿī, that the Messenger ﷺ said: “The best of your leaders are those whom you love and they love you. You pray for them and they pray for you.”

Question: I am a person who prays however I still find myself falling into al-munkarāt (ie: evil actions). What advice do you have for me and why does my prayer not prevent me from doing evil deeds?
السؤال أنا أصلي ولكن أفعل بعض المنكرات، فما هي نصيحتكم لي؟ ولماذا لم تنهني صلاتي عن المنكر؟
Answer: My advice to you is to repent to Allah, ʿazza wa jal, and be sincere in turning back towards Him. You should be mindful of the greatness of the One you are disobeying and be mindful of His punishment for those who oppose His Command. You should remember the statement of Allah, {“Inform unto My slaves, that truly, I am the Oft-Forgiving, the Most-Merciful.”} {“And that My Torment is indeed the most painful torment.” [al-Hijr: 49-50]} Therefore, seek Allah's forgiveness and mercy and at the same time become fearful of His punishment.
الجواب نصيحتي لك أن تتوب إلى الله عز وجل، وأن تصدق الإقبال إلى الله، وأن تستحضر عظمة من عصيت وعقوبته عز وجل لمن خالف أمره، وأن تقرأ قول الله تعالى: {نَبِّئْ عِبَادِي أَنِّي أَنَا الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ} [الحجر: 49] {وَأَنَّ عَذَابِي هُوَ الْعَذَابُ الْأَلِيمُ} [الحجر: 50] فاستغفر الله واسترحمه، وخف من عذابه.
As for your prayer not preventing you from performing evil deeds, then perhaps it is due to it containing deficiencies within. That is because the prayer that prevents one from committing lewdness and evil deeds is the prayer that is complete. It is the prayer that is in accordance to what the Prophet ﷺ came with, prayer that is performed with an attentive present heart, and a prayer that is performed upon the Sunnah.
وأما كونك تصلي وصلاتك لا تنهاك عن المنكر فلعل صلاتك فيها قصور؛ لأن الصلاة التي تنهى عن الفحشاء والمنكر هي الصلاة الكاملة، التي تكون على وفق ما جاء عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم باستحضار القلب، وأداء العمل كما جاءت به السنة.
It is not any and every prayer that prevents one from lewdness and evil deeds, rather it is only the established prayer that is performed its required manner. Allah said, {“…Indeed, the prayer prevents al-Faḥshāʾ (lewdness, great sins of every kind, illegal sexual relations) and al-Munkar (disbelief, polytheism, and every evil deed)…” [al-ʿAnkabūt: 45]} And this is referring to the prayer that is established in the correct manner.
وليس كل صلاة تنهى عن الفحشاء والمنكر، بل الصلاة المقامة التي أقامها الإنسان على الوجه الذي ينبغي، قال الله تعالى: {اتْلُ مَا أُوحِيَ إِلَيْكَ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ وَأَقِمِ الصَّلاةَ إِنَّ الصَّلاةَ تَنْهَى عَنِ الْفَحْشَاءِ وَالْمُنْكَرِ} [العنكبوت: 45] يعني: التي أقمتها على الوجه الصحيح.
