“Whoever congratulates a person for disobedience, innovation or disbelief has exposed himself to the hated and wrath of Allāh.”

[Al-Imām Ibn al-Qayyim - in Ahkām Ahludh-Dhimmah, 1/441]
26th Major Sin - Injustice

Injustice includes consuming other people's property, taking it without right, wronging people by striking them or insulting them, transgressing against them, and being overbearing to the weak.

Allah Almighty says:

"Do not consider Allah to be unaware of what the wrongdoers perpetrate. He is merely deferring them to a Day on which their sight will be transfixed, rushing headlong - heads back, eyes vacant, hearts bollow.

The Prophet said, "Allah prolongs the life of the unjust but when He takes them, He will not let them escape. Then he recited, Such is the iron grip of your Lord when He seizes cities which do wrong. His grip is painful, violent' (11:102)."

The Prophet stated that his Lord - Blessed and Exalted is He - said, "My slaves, I have forbidden injustice to Myself and made it unlawful between you, so do not do wrong one another." (Muslim and at-Tirmidhi)

One form of injustice is misappropriating the property of an orphan. The hadith of Mu'adh ibn Jabal in which the Messenger of Allah * said to him, "Fear the supplication of the wronged. There is no veil between it and Allah." One variant states that the supplication of the wronged rises above the clouds, and the Lord Almighty says, "By My might and majesty, I will help you, even if it be after some time."

Someone recited:

Do not wrong others, for you have no real power.

The end of injustice is regret.

Your eyes sleep but the wronged one is awake,

praying against you,

and the Eye of Allah never sleeps.

In one of his lessons, shaykh Abd al-Razzaq al-Badr حفظه الله said:

[انت ان قلت ان تجعل القرآن ربيع قلبي ، افتح المصحف واقراه وتدبر وتامل في كلام الله ، واجعل للقرآن حظ من وقتك حتى يكون ربيعا لقلبك. لن يكون القرآن ربيعا لقلب المرء وهو في الرف او يوضع كما في بعض البيوت للزينة . ]

If you ask for the Qur’an to be the spring of your heart, then open up the mushaf and read it. Contemplate and ponder over Allah’s Speech. Make time for the Qur’an in your schedule.

Do that until it becomes the spring of your heart. The Qur’an will never be the spring of someone’s heart while it just sits on a shelf or is used as a decoration as you find in some houses.

Depiction of the punishment of Hell

Swayd Ibn Ghaflah related:
"When Allāh wants to neglect the people of Hellfire, He allocates each one of them a coffin made of Fire, then shuts these coffins with locks made of Fire. Every time their nerves sense feels the pain, it includes a metal pin of fire. Then each coffin is placed inside another coffin made of fire then shut down with locks made of fire and Allah kindles fire in between them. Then again He places each coffin inside another coffin made of fire, then shuts them down with locks made of fire, then He kindles fire in between them. So each person believes that no one suffers a worse punishment than what he suffers or undergoes."

Hilyah Al-Awliya (4/176)
A man from the Khawārij came to al-Hasan al-Basrī and said to him: “What do you say about the Khawārij?” Al-Hasan said: “They are people of the dunyā.” He said: “Why do you say they are people of the dunyā? While one of them walks between the spears until they split him into pieces, leaving behind his family and children!” Al-Hasan said: “Tell me about the Leader! Does he prevent you from establishing the Salāh, giving Zakāh, performing Hajj or ‘Umrah? I see that he only prevents you from the dunyā so you fight him over that.”

[Al-Basā’ir wadh-Dhakhā’ir 156]

What should you do if something is missing or you lost something?

Ibn ‘Umar رضي الله عنه was asked about a missing object?

So he said that a person should make wudū and pray two raka’at, say the tashahhud and say:

‏ اللَّهمَّ رادَّ الضَّالَّةِ هاديَ الضَّلالَةِ تَهدي من الضَّلالةِ ردَّ عليَّ ضالَّتي بعزَّتِك وسلطانِك فإنَّها من فضلك وعطائِك.

“O Allāh! The One Who returns lost objects, the One Who guides the mislead! You guide from error, return to me my lost item by Your Might and Your Sovereignty; indeed, that is from Your Grace and Generosity.”

Its chain is hasan.

His tongue will scoop up for you that which is contained in his heart, whether it is sweet, bitter, fresh, salty and/or other than that. The flavour of his heart will become apparent to you from that which his tongue scoops up.”

Ibn ul Qayyim (رحمه الله) said:

“There is nothing that drives away the afflictions of this world except tawh‌īd, that's why the supplication of the distressed person is with tawh‌īd, such as, the supplication of yūnus عليه السلام

The distressed person does not supplicate by what yunūs عليه السلام supplicated with except that Allāh releases him from his hardship with tawh‌īd.

There is nothing more gruesome for the distressed person except shirk, and there is nothing that can rescue you from it except tawh‌īd, it is the refuge for the creation, its shelter, its fortress, and its aid.

Imām Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

“The heart, in its journey to Allāh, Majestic is He, is like that of a bird: love is its head, and fear and hope are its two wings.

When the head and two wings are sound, the bird flies gracefully. If the head is severed, the bird dies… if the bird loses one of its wings, it then becomes a target for every hunter or predator.”
