“May Allah take revenge on every tyrant, every stubborn person, every infidel, and everyone who did not stand beside us and with our children.”

Words from a Palestinian grandmother after her grandchildren were killed in an Israeli airstrike while collecting water in Khan Younis, southern Gaza.

“Do not ever think that Allah is unaware of what the oppressors do. He only postpones them until a Day when the eyes will stare (in horror).” (14:42) ...

Heartfelt recitation by Shaykh Fadi from Gaza
The child Kinan Adwan, just a year and a half old, nursed from his mother, kissed her, and went out to play near his family in Khan Younis—only to be deliberately targeted and killed by criminals.
His father says:

*"After 18 years of waiting… he came to us with longing and thirst. His mother had to take 700 injections so he could come into this world."*

O Allah, burn the hearts of those who burn the hearts of our people, and grant us the strength to support them in a way that lifts from us the sin of betrayal.
May we realise the importance of al-Masjid al-Aqsā. Let's frequently travel there to fill its Masjids and courtyards, and play our part in protecting and preserving its sanctity.

O Allah, protect and purify al-Masjid al-Aqsā from its enemies. Restore al-Masjid al-Aqsā to the hands of the Muslims, and keep it elevated and honored until the Day of Judgment.
The Best Provision

“Take provisions (for the journey)—surely the best provision is taqwā.” (2:197)

Taqwā is to protect yourself from the punishment of Allah by avoiding His prohibitions and implementing His commands.

Taqwā is the believer’s key provision in his journey to Allah. Taqwā is the ultimate ingredient for success, as it is a shield from the Hell-fire and the path to Paradise.

Before stepping into prayer, you must prepare your mindset. Ask yourself: why do I pray? Is it just because it’s obligatory? That’s an incomplete perspective. You should pray because prayer is comfort and joy. Some people pray simply to fulfill an obligation. They just want to "get it over with." But that’s not what prayer is meant to be. Don't pray just because it’s haram to abandon it—pray because you love to.

Don’t rush to finish your prayer. Some people treat it like a chore—“Let’s just get it done so we can relax.” This attitude will never allow one to feel khushu‘ (humble devotion). Such people get upset if the imam recites two extra verses. They fume if the iqamah is delayed even a minute. For them, prayer is like clocking in and out of work—it’s all about attendance. This perspective has to change if you want your prayer to transform.

Don't pray just to check off a box. Enjoy it. Love it. Approach it with anticipation, not as a burden. If you come to prayer with the attitude of "let’s just get it over with," you’ll never achieve khushu‘. Then you’ll wonder, “Why don’t I feel anything in prayer?”—but the answer is clear.

Change your view of prayer. Come because you want to, because you rejoice in it, because you miss it. If you view it this way, your prayer will inevitably change. Prepare yourself for prayer just as you prepare for an exam, a driver’s test, or a job interview. You’re about to stand before the King of kings, the Compeller of the heavens and the earth.

Don’t arrive at the last second, rushing with the iqamah. It’s unrealistic to jump straight from worldly distractions into the afterlife in a single breath. Some people think khushu‘ is like flipping a switch—press it and suddenly you’re present. It doesn’t work that way.

You have to prepare yourself!

How Small Are We?

Zoom out with me for a moment…

From your room to your city.

From Earth to the solar system.

Then to the Milky Way.

Then beyond… to galaxies, clusters, and the edge of the known universe.

Until everything becomes dots—dust in a vast creation.

Now imagine this:

All seven heavens compared to Allah’s Kursi are like a ring tossed in the middle of a desert.

And the Kursi compared to the Throne (‘Arsh)? Also like a ring in a desert.

Despite all this unimaginable vastness—when you stand in prayer, Allah turns His Face toward you. He listens. He responds.

You say: “Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘Alamin”
And He says: “My servant has praised Me.”

Everything in existence runs by His command—stars, galaxies, even the smallest cells. Not by your will. Not by mine.

So how do we dare stand in front of Him distracted?

Reflect. Be humbled.

Pray with presence.
