What kind of hatred fills the hearts of the Zionists, that they cannot go a single day without oppression, brutality, and bloodshed? Even after a ceasefire was announced, they continued their assault with airstrikes in Lebanon.

All while relentless attacks continue, day after day, against our brothers and sisters in Gaza.

O Allah, take revenge upon the criminals and those who support them, and turn their plots back against them.

Alḥamdulillāh, we rejoice at the reopening of al-Masjid al-Aqṣā.

Yet at the same time, we feel deep sadness and grief that shortly after it reopened at Fajr, settlers were allowed to invade al-Masjid al-Aqṣā under heavy police protection.

This is a clear demonstration of the reality facing al-Masjid al-Aqṣā, and what continues to be planned against it.

Overwhelmed? Stressed? Worried?

Send abundant ṣalawāt upon the best of creation ﷺ.

“Know that no Muslim servant sends abundant ṣalawāt on Muḥammad ﷺ, except that Allah illuminates his heart, forgives his sins, puts his heart at ease, and makes his matters easy. Send abundant ṣalawāt, so that Allah will make you from the followers of his path, make you act upon his sunnah; and make him ﷺ our companion in Paradise.” – Ibn al-Jawzī (rahimahullah)

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ وَعَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ ، اَللّٰهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ وَعَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ

Thousands of Muslims performed the first Jumuʿah at al-Masjid al-Aqṣā after 40 days of forced closure.

Only those who are arrogant forsake duʿā’. How can a servant not ask the Lord of the heavens and the earth? How can he not raise his hands to the One whose generosity is limitless, and in whose Hands lie the treasures of the heavens and the earth? How can he not humble himself in the court of the True Sovereign?

Seek out this blessed moment in the last portion after ʿAṣr.

Turn to Allah, raise your hands, and place your needs before Him.

Do not forget al-Masjid al-Aqṣā simply because it has reopened. It still remains under occupation and constant settler incursions.

Remember the steadfast Muslims across Palestine and Gaza, and the rest of the Ummah, and all those unjustly imprisoned.

O Allah, liberate al-Masjid al-Aqṣā from occupation, free those unjustly imprisoned, grant relief to our brothers and sisters in Gaza, and grant victory to the Ummah of Muḥammad ﷺ.

Before praying ṣalāh, always try your best to remove distractions. Anything which may distract or worry you in ṣalāh will reduce the khushūʿ in your ṣalāh.

Ibn Kathīr (raḥimahullāh) says,

“Khushūʿ in ṣalāh is only attained by the one who has emptied his heart totally for it, who occupies himself fully for it and does not pay attention to anything else besides it, and who prioritises it over everything else. At that point it becomes a source of comfort and intense joy.”

So if you are hungry, eat before you pray. Similarly, if you need to relieve yourself, do it before you pray. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,

“Ṣalāh should not be performed when the food has been presented, nor when one is fighting the urge to go to the bathroom” (Abū Dāwūd).

He ﷺ also said,

“If dinner is served, and the iqāmah for ṣalāh has been given, then start with the dinner” (Bukhārī).

Imām al-Munāwī (raḥimahullāh) explains that the above narrations indicate that it is more important and virtuous to pray with the presence of the heart, than to pray at the start of the prayer time.

Tahajjud is a source of spiritual strength, guidance, and protection. It helps us remain firm during trials, shielding us from temptations and doubts. While tribulations bring confusion, fear, and instability, tahajjud deepens our connection with Allah, strengthens īmān, and instills certainty and reliance upon Him.

Keep your tongue moist with abundant ṣalawāt upon the one who journeyed by night to the noble al-Masjid al-Aqṣā and led the Prophets in prayer.

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ وَعَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ ، اَللّٰهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ وَعَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ

Don’t forget to take time out and make duʿā’ in the last portion of the day of Jumuʿah.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,

“Jumuʿah is comprised of twelve portions of time. There is one in which a Muslim who asks Allah for something will have it granted to him. Seek it in the last portion after ʿAṣr” (Abū Dāwūd).

The pious predecessors would give great importance to this time. When Mufaḍḍal b. Fuḍālah (raḥimahullāh) would perform the ʿAṣr ṣalāh on Jumuʿah, he would seclude himself in the corner of the masjid and continuously supplicate until sunset.

One of the righteous said:

“I have never made a duʿā’ between ʿAṣr and Maghrib on a Jumuʿah without my Lord answering me…”

Duʿāʾ is the believer’s greatest honour. Be eager to seize this moment. Pour your heart out to Allah. Be persistent in your duʿā’ and do not withhold your tears. Ask Allah for everything, big or small.

Do not forget al-Masjid al-Aqṣā, Gaza, and the rest of the Muslim Ummah in your duʿās.

We often find that when we temporarily neglect acts of īmān—such as adhkār, going early to the mosque, or visiting parents—in order to “save time” for urgent tasks, it ends up bringing the opposite of what we intended. Our time loses its barakah, and we end up feeling even more rushed and unsettled.
