Since its reopening, Israeli ministers, rabbis, and settlers continue to storm and desecrate al-Masjid al-Aqṣā daily, in a blatant insult to the Muslim Ummah.

Tahajjud is a source of spiritual strength, guidance, and protection. It helps us remain firm during trials, shielding us from temptations and doubts. While tribulations bring confusion, fear, and instability, tahajjud deepens our connection with Allah, strengthens īmān, and instills certainty and reliance upon Him.

Keep your tongue moist with abundant ṣalawāt upon the one who journeyed by night to the noble al-Masjid al-Aqṣā and led the Prophets in prayer.

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ وَعَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ ، اَللّٰهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ وَعَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ

Don’t forget to take time out and make duʿā’ in the last portion of the day of Jumuʿah.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,

“Jumuʿah is comprised of twelve portions of time. There is one in which a Muslim who asks Allah for something will have it granted to him. Seek it in the last portion after ʿAṣr” (Abū Dāwūd).

The pious predecessors would give great importance to this time. When Mufaḍḍal b. Fuḍālah (raḥimahullāh) would perform the ʿAṣr ṣalāh on Jumuʿah, he would seclude himself in the corner of the masjid and continuously supplicate until sunset.

One of the righteous said:

“I have never made a duʿā’ between ʿAṣr and Maghrib on a Jumuʿah without my Lord answering me…”

Duʿāʾ is the believer’s greatest honour. Be eager to seize this moment. Pour your heart out to Allah. Be persistent in your duʿā’ and do not withhold your tears. Ask Allah for everything, big or small.

Do not forget al-Masjid al-Aqṣā, Gaza, and the rest of the Muslim Ummah in your duʿās.

We often find that when we temporarily neglect acts of īmān—such as adhkār, going early to the mosque, or visiting parents—in order to “save time” for urgent tasks, it ends up bringing the opposite of what we intended. Our time loses its barakah, and we end up feeling even more rushed and unsettled.

Dhul Qaʿdah is the 11th month of the Islamic calendar and one of the four sacred months in Islam, along with Dhul Ḥijjah, Muḥarram, and Rajab.

The specific mention of these four months does not mean that other months are not sacred, because the month of Ramaḍān is unanimously the most sacred month in the year.

But these four months were specifically termed as sacred months because even the Pagans of Makkah observed their sacredness, following in the footsteps of their forefather Ibrāhīm (ʿalayhis-salām). Despite their frequent tribal battles and regular wrangling, they deemed it unlawful to fight in these months. The sacredness of these four months was established right from the day Allah created the universe.

Duʿā’ is a whispering conversation with Allah (ʿazza wa jall), the Creator, the Lord, and the Sustainer of all things.

Regarding the sacred months, Allah said in the Noble Qur’ān:

“Indeed, the [ordained] number of the months according to Allah is twelve [lunar] months, [as was decreed] in the [Preserved Heavenly] Book of Allah on the day He created the heavens and the earth. Four of them are sacred. That is the upright religion so do not wrong yourselves in them.” (9:36)

After the obligation of attesting to the Oneness of Allah (tawḥīd), there is no greater commandment in Islam than ṣalāh.

Ṣalāh is the second pillar of Islam and the prime connection between a slave and his Master. It is the crucial factor that distinguishes the believers from the disbelievers, and is the first act which he will be held accountable for on the Day of Judgement.

Do not let anything come between you and your ṣalāh, and never abandon a ṣalāh.

Ḥajj is the fifth pillar of Islam and one of the greatest acts of worship. It is magnificent in every sense: in its rituals, benefits and impact.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke often about the virtues and the lofty rank of ḥajj in the eyes of Allah. Knowing and understanding the virtues of good deeds sparks longing in the heart, awakens īmān, and inspires sincerity.

Imām al-Ghazālī (raḥimahullāh) writes,

“There is no act of obedience except that it can carry many intentions. What settles in the heart of the believing servant depends on the level of his eagerness for good, his striving for it, and his reflection upon it. Through this, deeds become purified and rewards are multiplied.”
