Visited the Sri Vidyawasa Maha Pirivena in Minioluwa, Migirima, where I met with the Chief Prelate of the Sri Lanka Ramanna Maha Nikaya, Aggamaha Panditha Most Venerable Makulewe Wimala Nayaka Thero, for a brief exchange and received his blessings for the New Year.

2026 අයවැය ප්රතිපාදන යටතේ අඩු ආදායම්ලාභී පවුල් වෙනුවෙන් රුපියල් මිලියන 10,200ක වියදමින් ක්රියාත්මක නිවාස ව්යාපෘතිය සහ යුද ගැටුම් හේතුවෙන් අවතැන් වූ ජනතාව වෙනුවෙන් රුපියල් මිලියන 5000ක වියදමින් ක්රියාත්මක නිවාස ව්යාපෘතියේ සැලසුම්, ක්රියාකාරිත්වය සහ අවසන් කිරීමට නියමිත කාල රාමු පිළිබඳ සොයා බලමින් එම සියලු නිවාස ව්යාපෘති නිසි කාල සීමාව තුළම අවසන් කර ජනතාවට පවරා දීමට කටයුතු කරන ලෙස උපදෙස් දුන්නෙමි.
එමෙන්ම, ජාතික නිවාස සංවර්ධන අධිකාරිය යටතේ පෙර වසරවල වැඩ ආරම්භ කරන ලදුව, මෙතෙක් වැඩ අවසන් කර නොමැති නිවාස ව්යාපෘති කඩිනමින් අවසන් කිරීම පිළිබඳවද මෙහිදී අවධානය යොමු කෙරිණි.
2026 வரவு செலவுத் திட்ட ஒதுக்கீட்டின் கீழ் தேசிய வீட்டமைப்பு அபிவிருத்தி அதிகாரசபை முன்னெடுக்கும் "தமக்கென ஒரு இடம் - அழகான வாழ்க்கை" தேசிய வீட்டுத்திட்டம் உள்ளிட்ட ஏனைய வீட்டுத் திட்டங்கள் மற்றும் தற்போதைய செயல்பாடுகளை மீளாய்வு செய்வதற்காக தேசிய வீட்டமைப்பு அபிவிருத்தி அதிகாரசபையின் அதிகாரிகளுடன் இன்று (02) முற்பகல் ஜனாதிபதி அலுவலகத்தில் நடைபெற்ற கலந்துரையாடலில் கலந்துகொண்டேன்.
2026 ஆம் ஆண்டு வரவு செலவுத் திட்ட ஒதுக்கீட்டின் கீழ் குறைந்த வருமானம் பெறும் குடும்பங்களுக்காக 10,200 மில்லியன் ரூபா செலவில் செயல்படுத்தப்படும் வீட்டுத் திட்டம் மற்றும் யுத்தம் காரணமாக இடம்பெயர்ந்த மக்களுக்காக 5,000 மில்லியன் ரூபா செலவில் செயல்படுத்தப்படும் வீட்டுத் திட்டங்களின் திட்டமிடல், செயல்பாடு மற்றும் நிறைவு செய்யவுள்ள காலக்கெடு தொடர்பில் அவதானம் செலுத்தியதுடன், அந்த அனைத்து வீட்டுத்திட்டங்களையும் உரிய காலக்கெடுவுக்குள் நிறைவு செய்து மக்களுக்கு ஒப்படைக்குமாறு பணிப்புரை விடுத்தேன்.
மேலும், தேசிய வீடமைப்பு அபிவிருத்தி அதிகாரசபையின் கீழ் கடந்த ஆண்டுகளில் ஆரம்பிக்கப்பட்டு இன்னும் முடிக்கப்படாத வீட்டுத் திட்டங்களை விரைவாக முடிப்பது குறித்தும் கவனம் செலுத்தப்பட்டது.
Participated in a discussion at the Presidential Secretariat with officials of the National Housing Development Authority (NHDA) this morning (02) to review the planning and current progress of housing projects implemented under the 2026 Budget allocations, including the national housing programme titled “A Place to Belong – A Beautiful Life".
During the discussion, attention was focused on the housing project being implemented at a cost of Rs. 10,200 million for low-income families under the 2026 Budget, as well as the housing project valued at Rs. 5,000 million for communities displaced due to the conflict. The planning, implementation status and targeted completion timelines of these projects were reviewed and instructions were issued to ensure that all housing projects are completed within the stipulated timeframes and handed over to the beneficiaries without delay.
In addition, emphasis was placed on expediting the completion of housing projects initiated in previous years under the National Housing Development Authority that remain unfinished to date.

ජාතික ව්යසනයක් බවට පත්ව ඇති විෂ මත්ද්රව්ය උවදුර මෙරටින් තුරන් කිරීම වෙනුවෙන් ගොඩනගන ලද “රටම එකට ජාතික මෙහෙයුම් සභාවේ” තෙවන සැසිවාරය සඳහා අද (06) පෙරවරුවේ ජනාධිපති කාර්යාලයේදී එක්වීමි.
විෂ මත්ද්රව්යවලට එරෙහිව මේ වන විට සිදු කෙරෙන වැටලීම් සහ අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීම් මෙන්ම පුනරුත්ථාපන ක්රියාවලියේ ප්රගතිය විමසා බලමින් ඊට කැප වී කටයුතු කරන සියලු දෙනාගේ සේවාව ඇගයීමට ලක් කළෙමි.
පසුගිය සාකච්ඡාවේදී තීරණය කළ පරිදි අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් මත්ද්රව්ය තොග විනාශ කිරීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් නව නීති සකස් කිරීමේ කටයුතු කඩිනම් කරන ලෙසද අදාළ අංශ වෙත උපදෙස් දුන්නෙමි.

கடந்த கலந்துரையாடலில் முடிவு செய்யப்பட்டபடி, பறிமுதல் செய்யப்பட்ட போதைப்பொருட்களை அழிப்பது தொடர்பான புதிய சட்டங்களை உருவாக்கும் செயல்முறையை துரிதப்படுத்துமாறு சம்பந்தப்பட்ட பிரிவுகளுக்கு அறிவுறுத்தினேன்.
நாட்டின் பௌதீக வளர்ச்சியைப் போன்று சமூகத்தின் நலன் மற்றும் ஸ்திரத்தன்மையின் முக்கியத்துவத்தையும் சுட்டிக்காட்டியதுடன், இந்த தேசிய வேலைத்திட்டத்தை பரவலாக செயல்படுத்துவதற்காக கல்வி நிறுவனங்கள், அரச நிறுவனங்கள், தன்னார்வ தொண்டு நிறுவனங்கள் மற்றும் கலைத்துறையில் செயற்படும் அமைப்புகள் உட்பட அனைத்து தரப்பினரையும் ஒருங்கிணைக்கும் ஒரு வலுவான பொறிமுறையை உருவாக்குமாறும் அறிவுறுத்தினேன்.
Participated in the third meeting of the “Ratama Ekata” National Operations Council, this morning (06) at the Presidential Secretariat. This was established to eradicate the illicit drug menace, which has escalated into a national crisis in Sri Lanka.
During the meeting, reviewed the progress of on-going raids and arrests conducted against drug-related activities, as well as advancements in the rehabilitation process. Also commended and appreciated the dedicated efforts of all those committed to this national cause.
In line with decisions taken at the previous meeting, instructed the relevant authorities to expedite the formulation of new regulations for the destruction of seized narcotics.
Emphasising that sustainable social stability and well-being are as vital as physical development, also directed that a strong, coordinated mechanism be established to expand and strengthen this national programme. This mechanism should bring together educational institutions, government agencies, voluntary organisations and cultural bodies, ensuring the collective participation of all stakeholders.

දස වැනි පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේ, මුදල්, ක්රමසම්පාදන සහ ආර්ථික සංවර්ධන කටයුතු පිළිබඳ අමාත්යාංශයීය උපදේශක කාරක සභාවේ දෙවැනි රැස්වීම සඳහා අද (07) පස්වරුවේ සහභාගී වීමි.
දිට්වා සුළි කුණාටුවෙන් විපතට පත් ජනතාවට සහන සැලසීමේ රජයේ වැඩපිළිවෙළෙහි වත්මන් තත්ත්වය පිළිබඳ මෙහිදී දැනුවත් කළ අතර, පූර්ණ වශයෙන් හානියට පත් නිවාස වෙනුවෙන් වන්දි ප්රදානය සහ නව නිවාස ඉදිකිරීමේ වැඩපිළිවෙළ ජනවාරි 09 වනදා අනුරාධපුරයෙන් සහ කුරුණෑගලින් ආරම්භ කරන බව ප්රකාශ කළෙමි.
එමෙන්ම, වගා හානි සඳහා වන්දි ලබා දීම සහ ආපදාවෙන් පීඩාවට පත් සුළු සහ මධ්ය පරිමාණ ව්යාපාරිකයින් වෙනුවෙන් සහන සැලසීම වෙනුවෙන් ගෙන ඇති පියවර පිළිබඳවද මෙහිදී සාකච්ඡා කළෙමි.
பத்தாவது பாராளுமன்றத்தின் நிதி, திட்டமிடல் மற்றும் பொருளாதார அபிவிருத்தி பற்றிய அமைச்சுசார் ஆலோசனைக் குழுவின் இரண்டாவது கூட்டத்தில் இன்று (07) பிற்பகல் கலந்து கொண்டேன்.
டித்வா சூறாவளியால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட மக்களுக்கு நிவாரணம் வழங்குவதற்கான அரசாங்கத்தின் வேலைத்திட்டத்தின் தற்போதைய நிலை குறித்து இங்கு தெளிவுபடுத்தப்பட்டதுடன், முழுமையாக சேதமடைந்த வீடுகளுக்கு இழப்பீடு வழங்குதல் மற்றும் புதிய வீடுகளை நிர்மாணிக்கும் திட்டம் ஜனவரி 09 ஆம் திகதி அநுராதபுரம் மற்றும் குருநாகலில் ஆரம்பிக்கப்படும் என்றும் தெரிவித்தேன்.
மேலும், பயிர் சேதத்திற்கு இழப்பீடு வழங்கவும், அனர்த்தத்தினால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட சிறு மற்றும் மத்தியதர வர்த்தகங்களுக்கு நிவாரணம் வழங்கவும் எடுக்கப்பட்ட நடவடிக்கைகள் குறித்தும் இங்கு கலந்துரையாடினேன்.
Participated in the second meeting of the Ministerial Consultative Committee on Finance, Planning and Economic Development of the 10th Parliament, which held this afternoon (07).
During the meeting, briefed the Committee on the current status of the Government’s relief programme for communities affected by Cyclone Ditwah. Also announced that the compensation scheme for fully damaged houses and the programme for the construction of new homes will commence on January 09th in Anuradhapura and Kurunegala.
Discussions were also held on the measures taken to provide compensation for crop damage, as well as the relief initiatives implemented for small and medium-scale entrepreneurs affected by the disaster.
දිට්වා සුළි කුණාටුවෙන් විපතට පත් ජනතාවට සහන සැලසීමේ රජයේ වැඩපිළිවෙළෙහි වත්මන් තත්ත්වය පිළිබඳ මෙහිදී දැනුවත් කළ අතර, පූර්ණ වශයෙන් හානියට පත් නිවාස වෙනුවෙන් වන්දි ප්රදානය සහ නව නිවාස ඉදිකිරීමේ වැඩපිළිවෙළ ජනවාරි 09 වනදා අනුරාධපුරයෙන් සහ කුරුණෑගලින් ආරම්භ කරන බව ප්රකාශ කළෙමි.
එමෙන්ම, වගා හානි සඳහා වන්දි ලබා දීම සහ ආපදාවෙන් පීඩාවට පත් සුළු සහ මධ්ය පරිමාණ ව්යාපාරිකයින් වෙනුවෙන් සහන සැලසීම වෙනුවෙන් ගෙන ඇති පියවර පිළිබඳවද මෙහිදී සාකච්ඡා කළෙමි.

டித்வா சூறாவளியால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட மக்களுக்கு நிவாரணம் வழங்குவதற்கான அரசாங்கத்தின் வேலைத்திட்டத்தின் தற்போதைய நிலை குறித்து இங்கு தெளிவுபடுத்தப்பட்டதுடன், முழுமையாக சேதமடைந்த வீடுகளுக்கு இழப்பீடு வழங்குதல் மற்றும் புதிய வீடுகளை நிர்மாணிக்கும் திட்டம் ஜனவரி 09 ஆம் திகதி அநுராதபுரம் மற்றும் குருநாகலில் ஆரம்பிக்கப்படும் என்றும் தெரிவித்தேன்.
மேலும், பயிர் சேதத்திற்கு இழப்பீடு வழங்கவும், அனர்த்தத்தினால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட சிறு மற்றும் மத்தியதர வர்த்தகங்களுக்கு நிவாரணம் வழங்கவும் எடுக்கப்பட்ட நடவடிக்கைகள் குறித்தும் இங்கு கலந்துரையாடினேன்.
Participated in the second meeting of the Ministerial Consultative Committee on Finance, Planning and Economic Development of the 10th Parliament, which held this afternoon (07).
During the meeting, briefed the Committee on the current status of the Government’s relief programme for communities affected by Cyclone Ditwah. Also announced that the compensation scheme for fully damaged houses and the programme for the construction of new homes will commence on January 09th in Anuradhapura and Kurunegala.
Discussions were also held on the measures taken to provide compensation for crop damage, as well as the relief initiatives implemented for small and medium-scale entrepreneurs affected by the disaster.
