Aren’t airdrops just free money? How could that possibly be a bad thing? Well, if you simply sell your airdrop and move on, that might be fine. However, if you get caught up in the hype and decide to buy more, it could be a huge mistake.
You see, airdrops are primarily a marketing tactic. When there’s a lot of buzz on social media surrounding a new airdrop, much of that hype is often paid for by the project itself. Also, keep in mind that airdrop systems are easily manipulated and gamed. Insiders could be farming their own airdrops, only to dump them on the public later.
I’m not saying we shouldn’t participate in airdrops, but next time you hear about one, consider that selling might be the smarter move rather than buying into the hype. Just saying!
