AHYMSIN New Sangha Mantra Practice given by Swami Ritavan Bharati for one year (2023-24)
ॐ गं गणपतये नमः ।
Om Gaṁ Gaṇapataye Namaḥ ।
ॐ गं गणपतये नमः ।
Om Gaṁ Gaṇapataye Namaḥ ।
Our Beloved Swami Veda Bharati’s 90th Birthday (24 March 2023) comes as a moment of loving remembrance and marks the beginning of a new era for all of Swamiji’s devotees, initiates and students. Swami Ritavan Bharati has named this new era as the ‘Decade of Loving Transformation: 2023-2033’, until Swamiji’s centenary birthday celebration in 2033, which would be marked by a large gathering at Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama (SRSG) ashram.
Our dear Swami Veda has often told us, “One must run one’s life by a spiritual plan.”
Swami Ritavan now invites all to engage in listening to the inner call of the Self during our ‘Decade of Loving Transformation’. Swami Ritavan has described the process and purpose of Transition and Transformation and has lovingly offered the below message to all the AHYMSIN sadhakas world-wide.

When Adi Sankaracharya enquires from a boy: ‘Who are you, my child?’ The response of the boy came to be revered as ‘Hastamalaka-stotram’. Composed by Hastāmalaka Acharya, a disciple of Sankaracharya, the Hastāmalaka Stotraṁ is a short Vedāntic text of 12 verses that succinctly reveal the Knowledge of the Self. The greatness of this composition can be gauged by the fact that Sri Adi Sankaracharya himself wrote a commentary on it. It is extraordinary that the master would compose commentary upon the work of his young student. This indicates, not only the greatness of Hastamalaka’s verses, but also the magnanimity of the Guru.
Since, to this young boy the knowledge of Atma-vidya was as clear as ‘a gooseberry’ (amalaka) kept on one’s palm (hasta), Acharya Sankara named him ‘Hastamalaka’, and he became famous as one of the four renowned disciples of the Acharya. It is a contemplative text, born of direct experience and is therefore profound in content and is truly a text for deep reflection and meditation.

On the sacred occasion of our beloved Swami Veda Bharati's 8th Mahasamadhi Anniversary, we pay our homage to his legacy by continuing his mission, honoring his teachings, and loving all.🙏🌺
The path of spiritual learning is a journey from the external to the internal. From information to knowldege and from knowledge to experience leading to realization. We find in Vedanta the 3 steps of learning; Śravaṇa (listening) is the first step in the process of learning. It involves active and focused listening to the teachings of a Guru. Manana (reflection/contemplation/clearing of doubts) is the second step and involves reflecting on what has been learned and clearing any doubts that may arise. Nididhyasana (meditation on the truth/integration/experience) is the final step and involves meditating on what has been learned and integrating it into one’s life.
In these special online study with Rabindra Sahu, we will learn this ancient art of spiritual learning.

Mind, Meditation, and You

How to Energize Your Mind to Regain Your Divine Strength
A workshop based on the section “Strong Mind, Weak Mind,” from the soon-to-be-published book, Mind: The Playground of Gods, by Swami Veda Bharati.
Swami Rama said, “All of the body is in the mind but all of the mind is not in the body.” In the “modern” world we think of the mind as equivalent to the brain, which occupies only the small space within the skull. How can it be that all of the mind is not in the body when the brain is entirely in the body? What was that Swami thinking? The answer is that, according to yoga philosophy, the mind is a subtle energy field, whereas the body is gross. The mind field is subtler than prana, subtler than the body, subtler than your clothes, but is still considered to be material and this mind energy field is greater than the body. In other words, the body lives within the subtler mind field.
In this series of Zoom sessions, we will study this knowledge through the lens of Swami Veda’s writings and lectures. There will be talks by the leader, readings from Swami Veda’s upcoming book, introspection, group discussions, and group practice. This will be an opportunity to get a better understanding of the mind and a chance to strengthen your mind.
Kindly contact ahymsin@ahymsin.org for registration and more information.
The event dates are 5 August and 13 August 2023.

Namaste Everyone. 🙏
As we all prepare for the celebration of the 11th International Yoga Day, we lovingly invite our AHYMSIN family to come together for an online and in-person program hosted from our spiritual home, Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama (SRSG).
In this two-day hybrid retreat on 20th and 21st June (Saturday and Sunday), 2026 we come together in practice, inspiration, stillness and meditation.
Our beloved Swami Veda Bharati was observing a five-year vow of silence at the time, but he made a rare exception to speak on this important occasion for India’s national television broadcaster, Doordarshan. You may watch this interview on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_N9SGtAYJJw&themeRefresh=1. This interview is in Hindi; English and other subtitles are available.
About the International Yoga Day, Swami Veda has said,
“On such a day, all those who follow the inner spiritual core of yoga in their quest, in whichever branch of spiritual yoga, they need to get together to share their inner experiences, contemplate on their advancement in the quest, and be in a mode of deep inner silence.
On this day, let all those who adhere to the ancient systems of yoga as taught by the rishis gather and meditate together. Meditate with body, mind and spirit.”
The day is also marked as Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year.
In the message on the International Yoga Day, our Spiritual Guide and Ashram Pramukha, Swami Ritavan Bharati reminded us of the true meaning of yoga as silence and stillness of the inner Self:
“Yoga unites everybody in silence and meditation. Yoga is a tradition of discovering the inner serene silence. Yoga is not a system of physical movement. It is a system of silence and stillness from which the movement expresses itself. It is the subtle yoga, not the yoga of the body but the yoga of the inner self.”
Swami Ritavan Bharati shall guide and inspire us into deeper and subtler aspects of yoga, silence and meditation.
We will also be guided by our ashram and international teachers in practice sessions and reflections on yoga philosophy.
