the first and foremost reason why we often study less than we planned or wanted is procrastination. 🌟
and you’ve probably heard a lot of advice on how to overcome it
🤩 :: i want to talk about time logging. in my opinion, it’s one of the best ways to
after you’ve completed your time logging, you might be shocked by how much time you spend on things like
scrolling or listening to music .
this can give you a pause and motivation to take action.
(and remember, motivation is temporary, so it’s best to do time logging regularly and try to be better every day than you were yesterday)
🌟 🌟 this method is popular because, in 🌟 🌟 many companies, a big problem is that employees do everything at work except actual work. so i suggest you try this method to study more effectively.
i’ve done time logging a couple of times before, but i remembered it again while coming up with ideas for a post.. and now i want to start doing it again🌟
what do you think about time logging?

increase productivity.this method involves recording all your activities throughout the day by time, and then looking at the statistics to see what took up most of your time and what prevented you from being productive. this is very useful for understanding where procrastination comes from.🪥

how to use flash cards right? 🌟 🌟
🤍 this is one of my favorite ways to memorize material. let’s talk about how not to forget it two days later.
☕️ / long-term memorization:
day x - you learn the material
day 1 - review
day 3 - review
day 7 - review
day 14 - review
day 30 - final review
this way the material is reinforced multiple times, and it becomes really hard to forget it.
⌚️ ;; if you need to memorize something in one day, use this scheme:
review x - 5-10 minutes after learning
review 1 - after 30-45 minutes
review 2 - after 2-3 hours
review 3 - after 6-8 hours
review 4 (optional) - before sleep, 10-15 minutes
you can use any format you like: paper flashcards, quizlet, notion, study bunny, anki
- on one side put a question (date, term, definition)
- on the other side put an answer with an example and common mistakes
or just term on one side + definition on other if the topic is simple
((🤩 )) the hardest part here is (you can even create a private channel where you send yourself study reminders and plans) . if you have any apps in mind, write them in the comments. i’d be curious to read them and maybe update this post
if you want information to stay in your memory long-term, you need spaced repetition.

not forgetting what and when you need to review. you can set reminders for yourself (in a calendar, notifications, etc), use special apps, or scheduled messages in telegram Please open Telegram to view this post

((🌟 )) another interesting way to overcome procrastination is the 5-minute rule. here’s how it works:
=> you sit down to do the task you’ve been putting off or don’t feel like doing and set a timer for 5 minutes. when the time is up, check in with yourself and decide whether to🌟

have you ever tried this method?🤩
=> you sit down to do the task you’ve been putting off or don’t feel like doing and set a timer for 5 minutes. when the time is up, check in with yourself and decide whether to
continue or stop. in 97% of cases, it will be easier to keep going because you’ve already gotten into it. if not, the reason is most likely tiredness or not feeling well.
it’s also worth noting that it doesn’t have to be
exactly 5 minutes. you can set 3 or 10, whatever feels more comfortable. the key is that the time interval should feel small to you, so the task seems simple and manageable.have you ever tried this method?

how to study when you’re tired?😪
sometimes we have to work hard despite how we feel. for this, i recommend the following:
🏞️ 1. get up and go to your workspace. sounds simple, but it works. make a firm decision that you’re going to study now
🤩 2. grab some tea/coffee (or any drink you like). you need to believe it’ll help, at least for a little while
🌟 3. start (you can use the 5-minute rule i mentioned earlier). once you begin, it gets easier. the key is to push your tiredness into the background
p.s.: don’t overload yourself! sometimes studying like this is necessary, but definitely not every day!🌟

productive failure. 🌟
there’s an interesting study on this topic:
11th grade students were divided into two groups to solve problems on newtonian kinematics. one group was first taught the material and then given well-structured problems with gradually increasing difficulty. the other group was given a difficult problem right away.
the second group experienced what’s called “🎀
so, when we start with harder tasks(with a proper review afterwards!!) , we actually learn more effectively because we learn from our mistakes. that’s why practice is so important, and it’s one way to make it more engaging ((🤩 ))

you might have noticed that i haven’t been posting much lately, both videos and posts.
that’s because i’ve been getting deeper into my studies, and honestly it’s been really hard for me to keep creating content at the same time. right now my main priority is preparing for my exams.
so for the next three months, there will most likely be little to no content here.
thank you for understanding. afterlight will be back with you after some time. this is an important step for me, and something i really need to do right now

a productivity anchor is one of the simplest ways to overcome procrastination. it’s a small, consistent action that signals to your brain it’s time to start working. it works by building a habit: once you complete the anchor, you
examples of productivity anchors include taking a walk (the same route at roughly the same time every day), listening to the same song while sitting in the same spot (also every day), and similar routines.
over time, your brain will learn toassociate the anchor with focused work , making it much easier to get started and stay productive❤️

a good productivity anchor should be:
