Gurwitsch's approach to developmental biology broke sharply from the reductionist science of his time. Most researchers measuring low level photon emission acknowledge Gurwitsch's priority as discoverer, yet they paradoxically rejected his claim that the emission plays functional roles, attributing it instead to random metabolic errors.

Gurwitsch developed a hierarchical field theory spanning from molecular constellations through cellular relations to whole organism systems, each level unifying toward specific future developmental states. His mature theory held that developmental transitions can't be reduced to molecular factors alone; instead, invariant laws govern how morphological stages succeed one another. This remains underdeveloped in mainstream biology. Fritz Albert Popp later built biophoton research on coherence theory, explaining many peculiar photon emission features from living things. Luc Montagnier, the HIV discoverer, demonstrated that microscopic DNA fragments in dilute solutions produce detectable electromagnetic waves, and when pure water sat nearby without material contact, adding genetic material to the water produced DNA strands matching the original dilute solution's sequence. Michael Lipkind, Gurwitsch's direct student, preserves this distinction between biological field processes and electromagnetic phenomena. Gurwitsch never expanded his theory to encompass the biosphere level despite close ties to Vladimir Vernadsky. When a cancer growth sat on his table, a new abdominal dullness appeared; removing it made the dullness vanish. He'd found multiple reflexes for different diseases, yet still needed a way to differentiate them. A measuring system was required.

Abrams developed his solution: interposing a coiled wire resistance between patient and subject, with disease readings appearing at specific ohm points on the rheostat. Malaria appeared at 32 ohms, tuberculosis at 42, Bacillus coli at 44, acquired syphilis at 55, hereditary syphilis at 57, cancer at 50, sarcoma at 58, and streptococcal infection at 60. Richards preserved Abrams' essential insight: living subjects matter. Their abdominal muscles respond reflexively to the patient's emanations transmitted through the circuit because every part of the universe ties together; no movement occurs without affecting every other particle. Remove the human element entirely, and you lose the phenomena of life itself; only electrical effects remain. This is why attempting to replace subjects with mechanical detectors fundamentally misses the point. Richards refined the approach by designing circuits that increased impulse strength while protecting against outside interference. He incorporated color filters, multiple resistance boxes, amplification stages, and carefully placed electrodes to maximize life force interactions. The results revealed measurable disease signatures: dull patches consistently appeared with specific diseases, allowing diagnosis from blood specimens alone.

Richards mapped what he termed the human atomic table, finding evidence for 172 elements within living systems. This exceeded the 92 known elements on Earth's periodic table. Whether these heavier elements existed before radioactive decay or remain bound tightly within human tissue remains unclear. We demonstrate that the convolutional neural network (CNN)-transformer network developed here, namely U-net integrated transformer (UI-Trans), successfully achieves the mitigation of complex noise-scattering-coupled degradation and outperforms state-of-the-art deep learning networks, due to its capability of faithfully learning fine details while comprehending complex global features.

With the fast generation of appropriate training data via flexible switching between confocal line-scanning LSFM (LS-LSFM) and conventional LSFM, this method achieves a three- to five-fold signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) improvement and ~1.8 times contrast improvement in ex vivo zebrafish heart imaging and long-term in vivo 4D (3D morphology + time) imaging of heartbeat dynamics at different developmental stages with ultra-economical acquisitions in terms of light dosage and acquisition time.
