Contemporary natural philosophy requires a new theory of forms, one that draws on Alfred North Whitehead's process philosophy to move beyond both classical Platonism and nominalism. Rather than treating nominalism as simply false, we can recognize both nominalism and realism as developmentally appropriate stages in human consciousness. Ancient Greek philosophy perceived ideas directly in phenomena. Christianity introduced increasing interiorization of thought, and medieval nominalism emerged partly to protect divine omnipotence from logical constraints. Yet nominalism also reflected growing human autonomy; ideas shifted from being perceived givens to human constructs. Modern science, while nominalist in rejecting Aristotelian essences, paradoxically relies on mathematical Pythagorean conceptions of cosmic order. Whitehead's eternal objects offer a synthesis that overcomes limitations of both positions. Science depends on recognizing recurring patterns amid the flux of events. Without such recognition, invariant principles become impossible. Eternal objects aren't fixed physical laws but rather the intelligible structures enabling that recognition. They're deficient in actuality and possess no agency as efficient causes. Actual occasions of experience, living organisms composed of such occasions, hold genuine agency and make decisions to actualize possibilities drawn from this realm of eternal objects. Concrete experiential events have ontological priority over forms, yet forms remain irreducible to those events. Value emerges through integrating possibility with what seeks to actualize itself. When one possibility ingresses into experience, its entire constellation of related possibilities arrives with it, much as perceiving one color presupposes an entire spectrum of contrasts.

Developmental biologist Michael Levin invokes a realm of forms to explain bioelectric patterning in morphogenesis irreducible to genetics alone. While this recognition that formal and final causality belong in biology is correct, attributing agency to the morphospace risks reasserting two-world Platonism. God's role in Whitehead's thought addresses why definite actuality emerges from indefinite possibility, functioning conceptually rather than theologically. Whitehead's God doesn't determine what creatures actualize but provides a primordial ordering of possibilities oriented toward truth, goodness, and beauty. Crucially, God also receives and integrates what finite creatures decide, enriching eternity through time's passage. Actual facts become objectively immortal within God's consequent nature, weaving value into the universe while preventing eternity from remaining static. Abstraction pervades nature itself; sense organs evolve as modes of filtering and differentiating information relevant to organismic life. The term "eternal" refers to existence outside spacetime; "object" means potential available for experience by actual occasions. Language itself presupposes a shared space of meanings transcending particular utterances. Humans reference concepts not yet languaged, suggesting nominalism can't fully account for how this occurs. Whether we employ Whitehead's terminology or Deleuze's virtual multiplicities, contemporary natural philosophy must move beyond crude actualism insisting only already-actualized entities warrant philosophical discussion.

Plasmoids then provide an alternative: massive, magnetically dominated structures whose magnetic fields decrease with increasing scale while the associated currents increase. Roughly 40 groups use plasma focus devices to study such plasmoids on microscopic scales. In these experiments, plasmoids typically have radii of about 300 to 500 microns; achieving net energy fusion requires compressing them to around 30 microns. Fast ICCD cameras with exposure times down to about one fifth of a nanosecond record their formation, supporting the view that such plasmoids may offer the fastest route to economically viable fusion energy.

Disc galaxies show two observable components rather than two distinct galaxy types. The inner optical and infrared component consists of stars, which are dense, collisional objects where magnetization is lost and filamentary plasma hierarchies no longer extend below the stellar scale, even though similar processes give rise to planets. The gas there moves supersonically relative to the stars, which can't be explained by gravity alone because since Galileo, gravitational motion is known to be independent of density, so gas and stars shouldn't display systematically different velocities in a purely gravitational field. The observed discrepancy implies that magnetic confinement acts in addition to gravity, yet standard cosmology largely ignores magnetic fields. Characteristic plasma speeds in the universe follow from dimensionless mass ratios: the electron to proton mass ratio raised to the three quarter power, multiplied by the speed of light, gives an upper speed scale of a little above 1,000 kilometers per second, with the densest galaxy clusters reaching roughly twice that value. A lower characteristic speed equals the electron to proton mass ratio times the speed of light, giving about 100 to 150 kilometers per second, close to the Rydberg speed. These constants constrain plasma behavior across cosmic scales, even though their deeper origin remains unclear.

This quasicrystal has 29-fold rotational symmetry and is made by rotating 29 plane waves by π/n for n =1 to 29 and adding them all together. The basic idea behind this animation is that the pixel at (x,y) is determined by

BIOLOGICAL FIELDS AND MITOGENETIC RADIATION | ALEXANDER GURWITSCH

Gurwitsch's approach to developmental biology broke sharply from the reductionist science of his time. Rather than hunting for individual factors causing each developmental step, he asked a more fundamental question: why does a regular sequence of fundamentally different processes unfold in development at all? This shift in thinking emerged during military service in 1904, when Gurwitsch realized that cataloging pressure differences or chemical reactions didn't truly explain embryogenesis. He pursued a quantitative, statistical analysis of morphogenesis using sea urchin gastrulae, chick optic cups, and onion roots. What he discovered was striking. Even in apparently symmetrical objects, cell divisions on opposite halves didn't distribute equally. Instead, they followed Gaussian or super-Gaussian patterns, suggesting a supra cellular ordering factor at work. In 1912, he introduced the concept of a "field" governing developmental fate. This wasn't mere electromagnetic phenomena. Gurwitsch maintained that a unique biological field existed independent of and above any electromagnetic component, remaining largely theoretical because he lacked experimental techniques to directly test it. His work demonstrated what biology would later recognize as deterministic chaos, where stochastic individual events produce orderly outcomes at the tissue level.

The famous 1923 onion root experiment revealed something remarkable: ultraviolet radiation from one onion root at extremely low intensity could trigger mitosis in another root kept at optical proximity. This mitogenetic radiation, now called biophoton emission, became the experimental cornerstone of his theory. Gurwitsch proposed that chromatin emits this radiation to stimulate and regulate cell mitosis in other cells, essentially serving as both signal and energy source maintaining molecular constellations against entropy. What made this work genuinely strange was that mitogenetic spectral analysis showed narrow emission bands (sometimes just 1 nanometer wide) varying between biological sources, effects magnified dramatically through rhythmic intermittence during radiation, and strict dependence on oxygen and visible light of specific wavelengths. Enzymatic reactions generated these emissions through branching chain reactions involving free radicals and reactive oxygen species. Branching chain theory, developed in the 1920s, explained how these reactions could exponentially amplify energy. Calculations proved that constructive addition of multiple visible light photons occurred naturally, somehow producing ultraviolet photons exceeding single visible photons in energy. Most researchers measuring low level photon emission acknowledge Gurwitsch's priority as discoverer, yet they paradoxically rejected his claim that the emission plays functional roles, attributing it instead to random metabolic errors.

Gurwitsch developed a hierarchical field theory spanning from molecular constellations through cellular relations to whole organism systems, each level unifying toward specific future developmental states. His mature theory held that developmental transitions can't be reduced to molecular factors alone; instead, invariant laws govern how morphological stages succeed one another. This remains underdeveloped in mainstream biology. Fritz Albert Popp later built biophoton research on coherence theory, explaining many peculiar photon emission features from living things. Luc Montagnier, the HIV discoverer, demonstrated that microscopic DNA fragments in dilute solutions produce detectable electromagnetic waves, and when pure water sat nearby without material contact, adding genetic material to the water produced DNA strands matching the original dilute solution's sequence. The electromagnetic waves from the solution shaped living space in the pure water. Michael Lipkind, Gurwitsch's direct student, preserves this distinction between biological field processes and electromagnetic phenomena. Gurwitsch never expanded his theory to encompass the biosphere level despite close ties to Vladimir Vernadsky. This oversight left unfinished work connecting individual organisms to the biosphere's radiant field and ultimately to cosmic radiation, a gap later theorists began filling through cosmic ray and biodiversity cycle studies suggesting organized galactic-scale radiant fields intimately connected to biospheric fields.

By using the human body as a sensitive detector, it becomes possible to identify these emanations through apparatus tuned to specific ohm resistances. A fundamental discovery emerged: atomic numbers correspond directly to ohm values. Hydrogen registers at 1 ohm, oxygen at 8, sodium at 11. This means electrical resistance measured in ohms coincides with atomic numbers and molecular weights. Albert Abrams laid the foundation for this work, demonstrating that all matter is radio-active and that waves from this activity can be picked up across space using human reflexes as detectors. He noticed something peculiar while percussing patients. All tubercular cases gave a dull sound at certain spots on the back, and only when facing west. When he faced them north or south, the dullness disappeared. This suggested a connection between Earth's electromagnetic field and the individual's. His next experiments proved striking: holding tubercular tissue over a healthy person's neck produced the same dullness. Running a wire from a diseased patient to a healthy subject transmitted disease effects through the conductor. When a cancer growth sat on his table, a new abdominal dullness appeared; removing it made the dullness vanish. He'd found multiple reflexes for different diseases, yet still needed a way to differentiate them. A measuring system was required.

Abrams developed his solution: interposing a coiled wire resistance between patient and subject, with disease readings appearing at specific ohm points on the rheostat. Malaria appeared at 32 ohms, tuberculosis at 42, Bacillus coli at 44, acquired syphilis at 55, hereditary syphilis at 57, cancer at 50, sarcoma at 58, and streptococcal infection at 60. Richards preserved Abrams' essential insight: living subjects matter. Their abdominal muscles respond reflexively to the patient's emanations transmitted through the circuit because every part of the universe ties together; no movement occurs without affecting every other particle. Remove the human element entirely, and you lose the phenomena of life itself; only electrical effects remain. This is why attempting to replace subjects with mechanical detectors fundamentally misses the point. Richards refined the approach by designing circuits that increased impulse strength while protecting against outside interference. He incorporated color filters, multiple resistance boxes, amplification stages, and carefully placed electrodes to maximize life force interactions. The results revealed measurable disease signatures: dull patches consistently appeared with specific diseases, allowing diagnosis from blood specimens alone.

Richards mapped what he termed the human atomic table, finding evidence for 172 elements within living systems. This exceeded the 92 known elements on Earth's periodic table. Whether these heavier elements existed before radioactive decay or remain bound tightly within human tissue remains unclear. Molecular weights produced distinct electromagnetic signatures: guanidin registered at 59.06 ohms in cancer cases, uric acid at 168.07 ohms in gout. Cancer treatment worked by dispersing elements like aluminum, silica, phosphorus, sulphur, or chlorine, expanding electrons outward from atomic nuclei to loosen densely packed malignant tissue. Inflammatory diseases increased levorotatory or negative compounds while cancer increased dextrorotatory or positive compounds. These shifts became detectable through his refined methodology. Abrams' oscilloclast device, which delivered measured vibrations suited to specific conditions, likely worked by stimulating the patient's cells to produce protective substances rather than directly destroying organisms.

Here, we present a deep-learning enhanced light sheet fluorescence microscopy (LSFM) approach that addresses the restoration of rapid volumetric time-lapse imaging with less than 0.03% light exposure and 3.3% acquisition time compared to a typical standard acquisition.

We demonstrate that the convolutional neural network (CNN)-transformer network developed here, namely U-net integrated transformer (UI-Trans), successfully achieves the mitigation of complex noise-scattering-coupled degradation and outperforms state-of-the-art deep learning networks, due to its capability of faithfully learning fine details while comprehending complex global features.

With the fast generation of appropriate training data via flexible switching between confocal line-scanning LSFM (LS-LSFM) and conventional LSFM, this method achieves a three- to five-fold signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) improvement and ~1.8 times contrast improvement in ex vivo zebrafish heart imaging and long-term in vivo 4D (3D morphology + time) imaging of heartbeat dynamics at different developmental stages with ultra-economical acquisitions in terms of light dosage and acquisition time.
