The Polarity of Plants | Rupert Sheldrake
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xHF1WB1loU
Sheldrake mentions the influence of Goethe upon his lifelong interest in plant research in which primary polarity in plants exists between roots and shoots, where shoots grow up and are attracted to light while growing straight up against gravity, and roots are attracted towards darkness, growing down with opposite behaviors in relation to light and gravity. When plants are cut, they regenerate in a polar way, demonstrated by pollarded willow trees where new shoots emerge at the top of the trunk, and willow branch cuttings that form roots at the basal end closest to the original roots and shoots at the opposite end. This polarity resembles magnets where each broken piece retains complete polarity with north and south poles, and this intrinsic polarity is established right from the beginning in plant embryos with embryonic roots and shoots connected by a suspensor. Charles Darwin discovered that an influence moves downwards in plants from shoot tips toward roots, later identified as the hormone auxin (indole acetic acid), which is actively transported in a polar way toward roots and maintains apical dominance by suppressing side bud growth while stimulating lateral root formation.
Radioactive carbon-14 labeled auxin experiments demonstrated that polar auxin transport occurs consistently toward roots regardless of cell wall age differences, as shown in monocotyledon leaves where youngest cells are at the base rather than the tip, yet auxin still moves toward the root system. Studies on dicotyledon stems during secondary thickening revealed that newly formed cambium cells transport auxin rootward even when dividing longitudinally rather than transversely, and inverted plant cuttings retain their original auxin transport polarity despite functioning upside down with reversed sap and sugar flow. Working with tropical bird's nest fern spores revealed polarity in single-file cell systems where nutrients flow toward growing tips, and plasmolysis experiments using sugar alcohols like mannitol revealed differential cell membrane attachment, with cells pulling away from basal walls while remaining attached to apical walls. Electrical polarity likely plays a crucial role in establishing initial plant polarity, with Earth maintaining a negative charge relative to the atmosphere, creating electrical gradients in trees and flowers.

Morphic Fields of Plants | Rupert Sheldrake
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEeNt8oizM0
According to biologist Rupert Sheldrake, plants possess abilities to remember experiences without brains, neurons, synapses, or any recognizable nervous system, and this memory exists beyond their cellular biology. Plants demonstrate behaviors that suggest forms of intelligence, including growing toward light with continuous adjustment and adaptation, the Venus fly trap closing only when specific trigger hairs are touched multiple times within seconds as a counting mechanism, and plants recognizing specific predators by releasing chemical compounds tailored to attract parasitic wasps that are natural enemies of particular caterpillars. The mimosa pudica, commonly known as the sensitive plant, provides one of the clearest demonstrations of plant memory through Dr. Monica Galliano's 2013 experiment where plants were repeatedly dropped 15 cm without damage, causing them to initially fold their leaves defensively but then learning after four to six drops to stop responding to conserve energy. What's particularly striking is that when researchers returned days later and even a month later, the plants still remembered not to fold their leaves when dropped, maintaining this learned behavior without additional training and retaining memory despite regular cell division and regeneration where many original cells would have been replaced.
Sheldrake proposes that memory isn't actually stored physically within organisms at all, but exists in organizing fields called morphic fields through a process called morphic resonance, where organisms tune into species-specific morphic fields containing collective memory of their entire species. These morphic fields function like information fields existing beyond physical space yet influencing physical reality, where organisms access repositories of species memory rather than storing information locally. Through morphic resonance, each species contributes experiences to collective fields that guide development and behavior, with plants continuously accessing their species field to obtain collective information accumulated over evolutionary time. This creates the habit of nature, where repeated patterns of countless organisms become increasingly embedded in morphic fields, influencing future members of the species and explaining how embryos know how to develop, how plants time flowering to synchronize across wide areas, and how organisms perform behaviors without being taught.

How Fungi Makes our Worlds | Merlin Sheldrake (Son of Rupert Sheldrake)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRFmCXBv5R4
Merlin Sheldrake explains how mycorrhizal fungi form intimate relationships with plants through mycelial networks of branching, fusing tubular cells that function as chemical wizards and navigators in soil, foraging for nutrients like nitrogen and phosphorus that plants need in exchange for carbon compounds like sugars and fats from photosynthesis. These fungi enabled plants to colonize land by serving as their root systems for tens of millions of years until plants evolved their own roots, and they continue forming as one of the living world's great intimacies through the intermingling of plant and fungal bodies. At any moment, a mycorrhizal fungus remodels itself to explore soil habitat, integrates information across billions of nodes strung between multiple plants across meters, and coordinates nutrient flows through trading decisions that influence entire continents.

Essential Energy Solutions | Plasmonics meets Biophotonics
https://essentialenergy.solutions?sca_ref=6630694.RTymKsda8i
Essential Energy Solutions harnesses cutting-edge plasmonic and biophotonic science to deliver real, measurable EMF mitigation results through their groundbreaking L.I.F.E. (Light-Induced Frequency Enhancement) technology that works by manipulating structured light at the molecular level within specially engineered stainless steel matrices. When independent researcher Marius D'Alexandre tested the Essential Energy pendant using bioresonance analysis, he discovered something remarkable: the device could harmonize 126 critical bioresonance frequencies corresponding to vital organs including the heart, liver, and kidneys, with significant improvements occurring within just 10 minutes of wearing and lasting through extended use. The technology employs plasmonic principles where carefully engineered molecular lattice structures resonate with and emit beneficial harmonics of light, effectively protecting the biophotonic matrices that allow our cells to communicate while shielding them from disruption caused by inorganic wave forms. This scientific approach tackles the root problem of EMF-induced stress by reintroducing structured light to improve both the quality and quantity of light in biological systems, directly countering the overwhelming electromagnetic pollution from modern technology that's 18 quintillion times stronger than Earth's natural resonance.
The quantified farm results speak volumes about this technology's real-world impact, with Steve Simpson's Washington dairy operation experiencing a remarkable 30% increase in milk production and 33% greater pasture harvest yields within just five weeks of installing the geofield conditioner in October 2022. Over in Minnesota, Rod Meyer's dairy farm with 150 cattle achieved 1-2 pounds increased milk production per cow per day while dramatically reducing somatic cell counts, translating to thousands of dollars in additional monthly revenue simply by creating an EMF-balanced environment for his herd. Marvin Graver's Illinois operation recorded half-pound daily production increases per cow within just four weeks of installation, and perhaps even more compelling, family and community members began experiencing remarkable health improvements including one Alzheimer's-like condition patient showing a complete behavioral turnaround. The technology's effectiveness extends beyond agriculture, with documented human health improvements including immediate anxiety reduction, normalized blood pressure, eliminated migraines, and enhanced sleep quality as verified through hundreds of testimonials from people who found relief from EMF sensitivity, chronic pain, and sleep disorders within days to weeks of using Essential Energy devices.

Introductory quotes in the first chapter of Philosophy of Freedom by Rudolf Steiner (1916 Hoernle) translation
"The spheres of life are many and for each there develop a special science. But life itself is one, and the more sciences strive to penetrate deeply into their separate spheres, the more they withdraw themselves from the vision of the world as a living whole. There must be one supreme science which seeks in the separate sciences the elements for leading men back once more to the fullness of life. The scientific specialist seeks in his studies to gain a knowledge of the world and its workings. This book has a philosophical aim: science itself is to be infused with the life of an organic whole. The special sciences are stages on the way to this all-inclusive sciences. .... Human ideas have been the medium of their art, and scientific method their artistic technique. Ideas turn life into forces. We have no longer merely a knowledge about things, but we have now made knowledge a real, self-determining organism. Our consciousness alive and active, has risen beyond a mere passive reception of the truths."
"All science would be nothing but the satisfaction of idle curiosity did it not strive to enhance the existential value of human personality. The true value of the sciences is seen only when we have shown the importance of their results for humanity. The final aim of the individuality can never be the cultivation of any single faculty, but only the development of all capacities which slumber within us. Knowledge has value only in so far as it contributes to the all-round unfolding of the whole nature of man."
"Man must confront ideas as master; lest he become their slave."

Man and Meaning | Owen Barfield
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oedVDN1xOWM
Owen Barfield’s philosophy focuses on the evolution and transformation of consciousness through the medium of language. Words do not possess fixed or static meanings but reveal an ongoing process in which meaning changes as collective human consciousness develops. The temporal aspect of semantic change is central, and this is demonstrated by tracing the etymology and shifting implications of specific terms over centuries.
Imagination and symbolism function as instruments by which consciousness encounters and makes sense of reality. Both the imaginative act and the symbolic capacity within language open access to deeper meaning and connection. Understanding meaning involves active participation and co-creation with language, reflecting an inner evolution that parallels outward historical events. Study of the history and transformation of words is necessary for recognizing changes in in the way a culture perceives, experiences, and responds to the world at a given time.

What Does Owen Barfield Mean By Final Participation?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHXV7fdTsHU
Owen Barfield’s notion of final participation is explained through a progression of original participation, idolatry, and final participation. Original participation refers to the ancient consciousness found in pagan and tribal societies where the world was alive with spirits, omens, and taboos. Everything had immediate meaning. However, this form of participating consciousness was also enslaving as it bound people to fear, ritual, and restriction. Barfield stresses that final participation is not a nostalgic return to this state, since history and revelation have moved human consciousness beyond from idolatrous participation by declaring God as beyond nature, present in the word, relationship, and logos. This stood against worship of animals, trees, or natural forms and prepared the way for a different relationship with the created world.
Idolatry emerges as the second phase when the living, participatory vision of reality is reduced to objects, symbols, or mere external appearances. Experiences that once carried deep meaning become codified into fixed, empty representations. The Renaissance, Reformation, and Enlightenment accelerated this shift by replacing creation with mechanistic nature, pushing God out, and reducing all things to what can be measured and weighed. In this view the universe loses its depth and becomes a collection of idols. Barfield maintains that this stage was necessary, but it also estranged humanity from direct participation in meaning.
Final participation, then, is a new consciousness achieved not by reverting to pagan animism but by entering into meaning again through imagination. This imagination is not mere fantasy or creativity but a disciplined act of re-configuration where one sees into the reality of things, in dialogue with science, history, and tradition. Final participation requires engaging the world inwardly, rediscovering its living meaning while avoiding mere simulacra, and becoming co-creators of shared reality through imagination that can be either deeply good or dangerously misleading.

Swedenborg and the Language of Correspondences | Gary Lachman
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6JgpPsFmwo
Gary Lachman explains Emanuel Swedenborg’s system of correspondences as a vision of how the natural world is bound to spiritual realities. Swedenborg believed correspondences unlocked the true meaning of scripture. After his death in 1772 his ideas influenced Romanticism, Symbolism and later esoteric and artistic circles. Mesmer combined Swedenborg’s insights with animal magnetism, which led to the creation of groups known as societies of harmony. These were circles of thinkers and practitioners in France who sought not only personal spiritual renewal but also social and political regeneration modeled on Swedenborg’s idea of inner transformation. Charles Baudelaire tilted correspondences from a vertical axis into horizontal associations, laying the groundwork for Symbolism. In later centuries New Thought and mental science reframed Swedenborg’s law of attraction, shifting it from an afterlife principle about destiny to a tool for shaping outcomes in daily life. At the center remained his claim that heaven and hell are not merely places after death but psychological states already present within us and projected into the external world.
Goethe saw nature as symbolic of a higher order and shaped his science with this vision. William Blake argued that what is within precedes what is without, standing against Locke’s idea of the mind as a blank slate. Czesław Miłosz emphasized that correspondences are expressed through language, teaching us to read the world as a symbolic and sacred text. Henry Corbin developed this further into a spiritual hermeneutics, extending the discipline of interpretation to the reading of the world itself. Swedenborg also drew on Neoplatonic cosmology and the great chain of being, showing how divine love and wisdom appear in human life through the heart and lungs. He taught that heaven itself is made of angels, and angels are transformed human beings, forming what he called the Homo Maximus, the great human that mirrors the divine. For him the universe is structured to bring forth humanity, to fill heaven with angels, a vision resonant with the modern anthropic principle.

Vortex Engine | Louis Michaud
https://rexresearch.com/MichaudVortex/MichaudVortexEngine.html
Louis Michaud’s Atmospheric Vortex Engine (AVE) is designed to capture mechanical energy by creating controlled, tornado-like vortices from low-temperature heat sources such as solar-heated air, warm seawater, or waste heat rejected from industrial cooling towers. Instead of relying on the massive and costly chimneys of conventional solar updraft towers, the AVE uses a vortex that acts as a kind of virtual chimney, rising from a few hundred meters up to several kilometers in height. The system is built around a cylindrical arena, open at the top, with tangential air inlets at its base. Heated air flows into these vents, setting the rotation in motion. Once the vortex has formed, it is sustained naturally through convection and continues to draw in surrounding warm air. Unlike the violent tornadoes of nature, AVE vortices are intentionally anchored over their station and kept under control by adjusting airflow through the louvers.
Potential applications range from improving the efficiency of existing thermal power plants by turning waste heat into additional electricity, to replacing or supplementing cooling towers, and even producing precipitation through induced convection. Michaud has estimated that the AVE could boost the output of thermal plants by up to twenty percent while reducing the need for massive concrete structures like natural draft towers.

The Descent of Light into Matter | Formscapes
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2WzAr6w6NI
Arthur Young’s vision of the reflexive universe is set against the background of the materialist conception of nature that took hold after Galileo and Newton. Natural philosophy gradually formed into modern science, emphasizing universal laws imposed by a clockmaker God and picturing matter as rigid bodies extended in space, unable to overlap, much like microscopic billiard balls. By the nineteenth century, this image began to show its cracks: thermodynamics, advances in chemistry, and observations of atomic behavior revealed that atoms were not rigid spheres at all but dynamic entities capable of combination, transformation, and symbiotic bonding. Fields of electricity, magnetism, and light, unified through the work of Faraday, Kelvin, and Maxwell, only complicated the picture. Electromagnetism did not fit neatly into materialist metaphysics, behaving simultaneously as fluid and discrete. By the early twentieth century, the very flawed atomistic quantum field theory showed energy and matter to be deeply intertwined, unpredictable, and indeterminate, warping the old mechanistic worldview beyond recognition.
Arthur Young interpreted these scientific developments as a process model of seven phases. It began with light, understood as primordial possibility and action, and moved through subatomic particles, atoms, and molecules, before ascending into stages of biological life, animal consciousness, and finally human awareness. In this progression, freedom narrows into structure, determination, and matter, but then reopens into greater vitality, creativity, and self-direction. Young’s scheme echoes Rudolf Steiner’s layered view of existence, which included the physical, etheric, astral, and mental, each corresponding to deeper patterns of vitality, behavior, and form.

Every now and then, I find myself drawn to cosmology explored through the Vedic lens. It feels like it opens an archetypal doorway in my imagination, something I can’t fully grasp, yet I find deeply beautiful in its own way.

The Multidimensional Universe of the Vedas (Vedic Cosmology, complete series)
The description of the Universe offered in the Srimad Bhagavatam and other Puranas is something that most students and admirers of Vedic literature may have trouble understanding, what to say about explaining.

“The plant grows from node to node and terminates in the flower and the seed. It is no different in the animal world. The caterpillar, the tapeworm, grow from node to node and finally form a head; in the case of the higher animals and humans it is the vertebrae that grow one upon the other, until they termin-ate in the head, where the powers are concentrated.

This is a Problem of Nutrition
https://anthropopper.com/2017/11/13/this-is-a-problem-of-nutrition/
Rudolf Steiner told Ehrenfried Pfeiffer that spiritual development challenges stem from nutritional deficiencies, stating "Nutrition as it is today does not supply the strength necessary for manifesting the spirit in physical life. A bridge can no longer be built from thinking to will and action. Food plants no longer contain the forces people need for this." Agriculture with depleted soils, chemical fertilizers, pesticides and GMOs has degraded food quality since Steiner's time. Swiss food company founder Walter Danzer's research method is presented through his book "The Invisible Power Within Foods," which uses protocols to extract test liquids from foods and create crystallized images that reveal life energy or "order force." Danzer's photographic evidence demonstrates that organic apple images contain apple trees, blossoms, seeds and orchards, while non-organic apples show blurred, fragmented essences, and GM soybean drinks appear like "lifeless, abandoned planets" compared to organic versions displaying branches and six-petalled blossoms.
Danzer's theory presents foods as information systems that transfer energy, life force, memories and experiences to our bodies before serving as physical fuel. Food quality testing methods include three approaches: bio-photon counting machines, image-creating methods like Pfeiffer's round-filter chromatography, and "Wirksensorik" where humans become testing instruments through trained perception of bodily reactions to foods. Meditative breeding research shows that seeds treated with sound, eurythmy or meditation produce plants with different qualities.

Mention of Ehrenfried Pfeiffer in recent posts has reminded me of the account he gives of a significant conversation with Rudolf Steiner. This was concerning the frustration experienced by Pfeiffer…

Empathic Food Testing Development and Application
- https://www.wirksensorik.de/en

Empathic Food Testing measures emotional and bodily sensations induced by food, distinct from short sensory impressions and personal preferences. Development of this method aimed to create a test suitable for stable foods and beverages that scientifically evaluates emotional and physical impacts of food on the body. Research compared three approaches: the Empathic Food Test (EFT), the multidimensional mood questionnaire (MDMQ), and hedonic sensory testing using panels of untrained consumers who evaluated sensorially similar pairs of milk, water, bread and sugar. Nineteen sensory experts derived twelve items using free choice profiling, with exploratory factor analysis reducing these to ten items organized into two scales measuring general bodily wellbeing and concentration or mindfulness. The EFT incorporates a preparatory body scan similar to mindfulness based stress reduction, guiding participants through systematic attention to body parts before food consumption and evaluation.
Results demonstrated that EFT showed higher discriminating power than MDMQ for most food pairs. Empathic awareness or mindfulness supports observation of food induced emotions, enabling the method to create transparency and optimization possibilities for production, purchase, and consumption decisions. The emotional properties of products strongly influence wellbeing and performance, with food production methods and food choices making substantial differences in quality of life. Analysis using trained observers or untrained consumers reveals that emotional and hedonic responses do not always correspond, with preferences sometimes showing inverse relationships between EFT and hedonic test results, particularly for sugar samples where hedonic testing favored sugar beet while EFT preferred sugar cane.

Spiral of Creation - Michio Kushi
https://youtu.be/iMV3-FGErhg?si=86WNtsapxgQ90H6m
The spiral dynamics described by Michio Kushi explain the universe as a constant, rhythmic interplay of two opposing but complementary forces of yin and yang which manifest as inward (centripetal) and outward (centrifugal) spiral movements. This spiral motion begins from the infinite universe or One Infinity, differentiating itself into these forces that produce continuous cycles of contraction and expansion, creation and dissolution. Energy moves inward spirally, condensing into matter such as atoms and elements, which then transform progressively into plants, animals, and humans. This spiral is not purely physical but also energetic and spiritual, encompassing all levels of existence. Each spiral movement evolves through stages where things appear, exist, and disappear, following an eternal law of balance, where extremes inevitably transform into their opposites, maintaining harmony in universal flow.
The natural processes such as growth and decay, day and night, youth and aging exemplify these spiral dynamics where the inward and outward forces continuously balance each other in cycles. These spirals govern everything from cosmic formations like galaxies and solar systems to life cycles and human history. The inward force brings energy and order into manifestation, while the outward force dissolves form back into the cosmos. This dual spiral movement is the fundamental law behind all processes of change, embodying the eternal order of the universe and illustrating why all existence is transient, interconnected, and cyclic, never static but always flowing in harmonious spiral motion.
