Elisabeth Vreede stood out as one of Rudolf Steiner’s most prolific students, and was suggested she grasped his work more deeply than almost anyone else. As the resident expert in astronomy and mathematics, she contributed a distinct rigor towards Steiner's indications. Sadly, she was also caught up in the harsh expulsion from the Anthroposophical Society alongside Ita Wegman

In her book Astronomy and Spiritual Science, Vreede explores the astronomical cycles, explaining that the sidereal day lasts about twenty-three hours and fifty-six minutes, roughly four minutes shorter than the solar day. This subtle difference means stars such as those in Gemini, Cancer, and Leo rise about four minutes earlier each night over the course of a year. Vreede connected these patterns to human physiology, drawing parallels between astronomical rhythms and cycles like sleep and memory consolidation.

Vreede outlines the importance of the lunar nodes, the ascending node called the dragon’s head and the descending node or dragon’s tail. These points slowly move backward through the zodiac, making a full circle in about eighteen years. She also discusses the Saros cycle, another eighteen-year rhythm that allows nearly identical eclipses to recur. Nutation, or Earth’s subtle 18.6-year wobble caused by the Moon’s tilted orbit, is likened to human pulse and breathing cycles.

She also compares the spatial arrangements and methods between ancient and modern astronomical arrangements and methods. She describes the Ptolemaic system’s geocentric approach, planets looping around Earth using epicycles, and then contrasts it with Copernicus’s heliocentric model and planetary ellipses. While both systems can predict planetary positions, they differ fundamentally in perspective. She highlights the so-called Mercury-Venus problem, where Ptolemy placed Mercury closer to Earth due to patterns of motion, while Copernicus, using spatial logic, put Venus nearer. Vreede also catalogs precise periods: Saturn’s orbit lasts 29 years and 167 days, Jupiter about 12 years, and Venus makes her five-loop sky pattern every eight years. The distinction between the tropical zodiac, linked to the Sun’s seasonal cycle, and the sidereal zodiac, anchored to star positions, is explored, explaining the 26-degree difference created by the precession of the equinoxes over time. Vreede quantifies that since the time of Christ, the vernal equinox has shifted into Pisces, although tradition still ties it to Aries.

Vreede explains how the Julian calendar’s extra quarter day gradually displaced the spring equinox date before the Gregorian reform set it right by skipping some leap years, specifically years divisible by 100 but not by 400 are not leap years. She discusses how people adopted the new calendar at different times and explores the impact of these systems on cultural and biological rhythms. The book includes maps of eclipse tracks based on Saros cycles and detailed charts for observing planetary conjunctions and oppositions.

When describing the planetary system, Vreede explains the unique qualities of the planets: they shine as distinct disks and travel distinctive paths through the zodiac. She notes that Mercury and Venus, orbiting close to the Sun, show clear phase patterns over 88 days (Mercury) and 225 days (Venus), including loops or lemniscate shapes during retrograde motions. Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune take much longer for their orbits: Mars two years, Jupiter twelve, Saturn nearly thirty, Uranus eighty-four, and Neptune 165 years for one revolution. Vreede offers detailed ephemerides and timing for viewing oppositions and retrogrades, noting that because planetary paths are slightly tilted from the ecliptic, what you see also depends on your latitude and the time of year.

A significant theme in Vreede’s book is the grand astronomical cycles, especially the precession of the equinoxes, a slow drift of Earth’s axis that moves the vernal equinox about one degree every seventy-two years, totaling nearly 26,000 years for a complete cycle, sometimes called the Platonic Year. This long-term wobble shifts the celestial pole among stars like Polaris and Vega and gradually separates the tropical and sidereal zodiacs.

She describes the Sun as astronomers see it, its photosphere, sunspots, flares, and corona, as well as the spiritual significance of the threefold Sun: the visible physical Sun, the spiritual Sun associated with higher beings, and the Christ Sun united with the Earth, which together evoke layers of cosmic and moral meaning. Observing solar phenomena is as much about tuning into celestial events as it is about understanding their reflection in human physiological and spiritual cycles.

Planetary Influences Upon Plants by Ernst Michael Kranich

This prime text on cosmological botany establishes (available soon in the archives) correspondences between plant morphology and planetary movements through systematic observation of botanical forms as cosmic archetypal images. The archetypal plant manifests through successive organ development reflecting planetary spheres arranged around earth. Roots correspond to lunar isolation and moisture absorption into darkness, while center shoots mirror solar ascending movement through phototropic behavior and vertical growth patterns. Leaves express Mercury's movement through alternate positioning and parallel venation in monocotyledons, whereas dicotyledons show Venus influence through pinnate venation, petioles extending into surrounding space, and two-fifths leaf positioning. Perianth development reflects Venus moving beyond sun's sphere with five-petaled corollas emerging from receptacles. Stamens and pollination correspond to Mars moving into opposition through anthers lifting above receptacles, while fruit development expresses Jupiter's expansion into surrounding space through uniform enlargement. Seed formation manifests Saturn's isolating influence through embryo encasement and desiccation processes.

Plant families demonstrate specific planetary dominance patterns within this archetypal framework. Grasses exhibit intense solar-Mercury character through center shoot determination, hollow cylindrical stems carrying spikes upward, parallel-veined blades emerging directly from shoots, and one-half leaf positioning reflecting Mercury's alternating movement around sun. In contrast, umbellifers manifest Jupiter's radiating expansion through pinnate leaf dissolution into atmosphere, double umbel structures expanding above shoots in two spheres, and branching shoot systems filling surrounding space. Water lilies express pure lunar influence through rhizomatous underground development, round self-contained leaf blades floating on water surfaces, flowers developing from ovary regions rather than receptacles, and fruit development occurring in cool watery isolation. Bindweeds reflect Mercury's spiral movement through counter-clockwise winding stems, successive flower development in leaf axils, and funnel-shaped corollas opening spirally from narrow bases.

Growth patterns reveal planetary influences governing entire plant development cycles. Annual herbaceous plants remain within sun-Mercury rhythms completing development during single yearly solar cycles with rapid vegetative growth followed by flowering and seed maturation. Biennial plants express Mars influence through two-year development cycles featuring rosette formation and root storage during first year opposing solar forces, followed by tremendous upward shoot expansion during second year reflecting Mars-sun conjunction dynamics. Meanwhile, perennial plants show lunar influence through renewal bud formation, underground storage organs including bulbs and rhizomes maintaining plant life through winter dormancy, and secondary shoot development expanding around original center shoots. Shrubs manifest Mars character through bow-shaped shoots growing three to four meters in single seasons, two-year flowering rhythms alternating vegetative growth with blooming, and receptacle modifications forming flower cups carrying stamens beyond sun-influenced regions.
❤5
Tree development reflects far planetary influences, with deciduous trees expressing Jupiter's encompassing sphere through trunk formation over multiple years, crown expansion into surrounding atmospheric space, and wood formation through warming desiccation processes creating permanent structures. Conifers manifest Saturn's inhibiting character through needle formation restricting leaf blade expansion, determinate growth patterns maintaining vertical development over decades, and extended maturation cycles with seeds forming after thirty-year periods corresponding to Saturn's sidereal rhythm. Compositae represent highest flowering plant development through sympetalous corolla formation where far planetary influences penetrate lower plant regions, flower head development creating higher unity from multiple individual flowers, and shoot expansion into receptacles reflecting cosmic integration. The botanical system reveals archetypal plant manifestation through monocotyledon-dicotyledon polarity expressing near planetary versus far planetary predominance respectively.

Thinking Like a Plant | Craig Holdrege

Introductory Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvM9TS-q740
Excellent Playlist on the the process: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLSv_IySuboCK2B-C20QVOA6zOwaXtP1AA&si=wf0hDzlZO33s52HM

Thinking Like a Plant" (soon to be added to the archives) begins with rooting before explaining, which parallels how a seed opens to soil and moisture before rising into the air. Plant-like thinking starts with sensory immersion, allowing explanations to germinate only after attentiveness has sent "roots" into the phenomena. Process over object recognizes that plants are verb-beings that leaf, bud, flower, and fruit. This approach shifts from noun-based logic ("What is it?") to process logic ("How is it becoming?") and holds concepts fluidly so they can grow, transform, even die away. Rhythm of expansion and contraction follows the oscillation of leaves widening, flowers tightening into seeds, seeds bursting open. Intellectual work mirrors this by alternating exploration with synthesis, then letting ideas go when their season is past. Context sensitivity (plasticity) acknowledges that a milkweed shoot in shade differs from its sibling in sun, yet both remain fully "milkweed." Plant-like cognition reads situations relationally, understanding every characteristic as organism-in-environment, never as an isolated trait.

Participatory knowing recognizes that the observer is not outside the field of study. Like pollen carried on an insect's leg, our questions and attentions enter the living fabric and alter what can appear. "Living thinking" acknowledges and takes responsibility for this reciprocity. Metamorphic ideas follow Goethe's understanding that the "true Proteus" of the plant is the leaf that becomes sepal, petal, stamen, pistil. Likewise, a fertile idea should be capable of continuously reshaping itself to reveal deeper unities rather than settling into a single rigid definition. Quiet ethical resonance emerges when the plant's dynamism is inwardly experienced. This allows respect for its integrity to arise spontaneously so stewardship proceeds from felt relation, not from abstract principles.

Holdrege employs field-based phenomenology, which begins with outdoor observation of one living specimen in its actual habitat. Observers describe only what is sensorially given (shape, color, surface, smell, posture) while suspending explanations or judgments, then repeat at set intervals so the observer follows the organism through time rather than capturing a single "snapshot." His group description circles involve each participant offering a single observation in turn without repetition. Here, listening proves as important as speaking, and the organism gradually reveals itself through the mosaic of multiple perspectives, training attentiveness, helping bypass preconceptions, and demonstrating how knowledge is co-created. Nature drawing as seeing practice draws forms from the center outward without outlining, focusing on tonal transitions rather than contours so the object "emerges" from gradients of light and dark. Later drawings invert the process by shading the space around the object to let negative space shape perception.

Additional techniques include exact sensorial imagination, which involves re-picturing the morning's plant inwardly during evening, reviving precise sense details (stem thickness, petiole angle, scent) so memory becomes dynamic and what was outer becomes an inner, living image that can be examined, compared, and deepened. The expansion-contraction inquiry cycle alternates "out-breath" extensive field observation, collecting impressions, and asking exploratory questions with "in-breath" quiet reflection, imaginative re-picturing, and dialogue. Repeat this process until form, function, and environmental relations crystallize into a living concept. Comparative leaf sequencing presses and arranges every leaf from bottom to top of a shoot, studying transformation in size, margin, degree of lobing, and venation to detect the plant's intrinsic rhythm of expansion and contraction. Root-window boxes grow seedlings in tilted, soil-filled frames with one glass wall so roots press against the pane, enabling day-by-day tracing of underground branching patterns normally hidden from sight.

In this short, Ibrahim Karim discusses how plants themselves are organs that are external to humans but part of the human system. Placed into the context of the BioGeometry phrase, the environment is your second skin, it makes more "sense". In the anthroposophical sense, humans have the ability to develop many new organs of perception. Plants currently absorb the light in a way we cannot, but there is also the new found practice of refined or etheric breathing which is how to entertain a subtle breathing alongside the physical breath to stream the formative forces through light and warmth into the sense organs. That's a long long story that I am diving into through a essay on substack soon. Stay tuned.

History and Theory of Electricity | Eric Dollard
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TttHkDRuyZw

From time to time I return to Eric Dollard’s work. Despite his cognitive decline and the challenging circumstances around him, handled by you know who, his work remains one of the clearest and most genuine approaches to understanding electricity that I have come across.

In this video, Dollard lays the foundation for electrical engineering history. He looks at Maxwell’s equations as a field diffusion theory rather than a pure wave propagation theory as his displacement current model leads to what he calls a diffusion type equation, which lacks resonance or wave velocity. Dollard makes it clear that the real physics of electrical transmission lines is described by the telegraph equation, which predicts wave propagation at a finite velocity with resonance effects.

He then discusses Thomas Edison’s work on the incandescent lamp, which Dollard calls “Edison Tubes.” These lamps created the first direct current electrical distribution system. Dollard differentiates between Edison’s direct current approach and its inherent limitations with Tesla’s alternating current system. Tesla’s impulse current concept was based on the law of hysteresis, the magnetic lag in ferromagnetic materials caused by the energy needed to align magnetic domains. This concept was central to Tesla’s induction motors and polyphase AC machinery designs, which brought improved efficiency and stability to power generation and distribution. Tesla’s work on “displacement currents” and the generation of electromagnetic waves in alternating currents is highlighted as the foundation for the modern polyphase power systems. Dollard emphasizes the important but often overlooked roles of the telegraph equation and hysteresis law in explaining real-world electrical phenomena.

Origins of Energy Synthesis | Eric Dollard
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNstg-HHneY

Dollard begins this lecture by relating modern electrical science to its natural philosophical roots of Platonic schemata and Aristotelian empiricism/He insists a tangible ether is non-negotiable; once you confront actual transmission line behavior, post Maxwell abstractions created by relativity and quantum mysticism simply unravel.

Returning to Faraday and Maxwell, Dollard claims that electricity emerges from the interplay of orthogonal dielectric lines of force and magnetic induction loops. He critiques the electron flow paradigm credited to J.J. Thompson for replacing the richer etheric field dynamics with a reductive charge carrier narrative that obscures real power flow processes.

Dollard then discusses Oliver Heaviside’s operational calculus and Charles Proteus Steinmetz’s complex phasor algebra. By applying Steinmetz’s j operator, voltage and current rotate into orthogonal components, collapsing Maxwell’s partial differential math into straightforward algebra that brings resonance, surge impedance, and telegrapher equation wave behavior in actual power systems. He defines energy synthesis as time varying inductance and capacitance within a confined etheric volume whether between conductors or across transformer leakage flux can create or annihilate measurable joules. This field operator framework predicts the cumulative oscillations, excessive voltages, and explosive arcing seen during high voltage switching, phenomena that classical transverse wave theory cannot explain.

Tesla’s work adds an empirical backing with longitudinal “displacement” waves, radiant effects in vacuum tubes, and cosmic ray pressures around fifty times superluminal. Dollard even reproduces Tesla style bulbs in which rising etheric density distends the glass until it balloons outward, his direct proof of the ether functioning as a mechanical continuum.

Dollard also notes that the ether-based concepts developed by Steiner were largely disregarded by British Newtonian orthodoxy, despite their value in explaining certain electrical phenomena. And lastly he addresses the practical challenge of long distance power transmission. Because 60 Hz phase advances slip by one degree every 46 km, coast to coast lines would fall out of sync unless wave velocity is made effectively infinite. Utilities achieve this by inserting series capacitors roughly every 160 km, neutralizing line inductance, a textbook implementation of Tesla’s longitudinal wave principles as quantified by Heaviside and Steinmetz.

Programmable Matter and 4D Printing
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ivCag1hs1EI

Programmable matter, also known as 4D printing is advances traditional 3D printing by adding time as the fourth dimension creating materials that can transform themselves after being printed. This technology designs materials to dynamically change their shape, color, or other properties when triggered by environmental stimuli like heat, light, or moisture.

DARPA pioneered programmable camouflage materials through their "shape-shifting stick", a slender rod that can intelligently morph into various curved or zigzag configurations for adaptive camouflage systems. This could enable military suits that dynamically change color and texture based on their surroundings, making soldiers and hunters incredibly difficult to detect. Researchers at the University of California San Diego have made 3D printable plastics that can alter their refractive index when exposed to electrical signals, creating adaptive lenses capable of rapidly changing focal length for advanced missile guidance systems and sophisticated periscopes.

The medical applications include a Japanese research team creating self-adjusting stents that intelligently expand to block arteries in direct response to blood pressure changes, while scientists at the University of Michigan have developed programmable implants that can release medications triggered by specific changes within the body, potentially helping patients avoid the harsh side effects often associated with chemotherapy.

In construction, researchers at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology are developing systems for 3D printing walls that can actually self-repair when damaged, which could eliminate costly maintenance while significantly reducing the environmental impact of construction projects, while engineers are creating smart pipes that can reconfigure themselves to automatically prevent leaks or clear blockages.

Active origami is one of the most exciting research areas, where MIT researchers developed systems that 3D print flat sheets capable of folding into predetermined shapes when heated, creating everything from compact solar panels that unfold into expansive canopies to small robots that can unfurl themselves to explore dangerous environments.

Harvard's prestigious Wyss Institute has created liquid metal robots using mixtures of gallium and indium that can flow through tight spaces for critical search and rescue missions.

Looking toward climate adaptation, University of Leeds researchers have developed ingenious fabrics containing tiny capsules filled with liquid that evaporates as temperatures rise, creating porous structures that allow better air circulation. University of Stuttgart engineers are creating 3D printed solar panels that can change shape throughout the day to track the sun's movement across the sky for maximum electricity generation.

Understanding Plasma Filaments, Pinch, Alfvén Waves & Magnetic Reconnection in Birkeland Currents | Biolumination
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FujvugCVGOY

"In this video, we dive deep into the fascinating world of plasma physics and explore how plasma structures itself and the forces that shape these dynamic phenomena. Plasma filaments, pinch effects, Alfvén waves, and magnetic reconnection are all crucial processes in understanding how energy moves through plasma and how cosmic structures like Birkeland currents are formed.

We begin by examining plasma filaments, long thread-like structures formed due to electromagnetic forces, and how they play a role in everything from star formation to lightning.

We then explore the pinch effect, where electric currents cause plasma to tighten into dense, high-energy structures, similar to processes seen in fusion reactors.

Next, we look at how energy moves through plasma, focusing on Alfvén waves and their role in transferring energy along magnetic fields. We also dive into magnetic reconnection, a phenomenon that reshapes plasma currents by reconnecting magnetic field lines, releasing immense energy in the process.

We put all these concepts together and see how they directly relate to Birkeland currents. Understanding these processes not only sheds light on the hidden forces that shape space weather but also helps us grasp the cosmic scale of energy transfer."

Light Yam (Dioscorea batatas): Living Medicine and Optimal Healing Conditions

The intent of this white paper is to share my experiences of integrating the light yam within sacred agriculture practices via the biodynamic preparations. I first thought to bring the light yam into my praxis in May 2012 and have been doing so ever since.

After presenting the Agriculture Lectures, Rudolf Steiner (1924) responded to a question from two participants regarding the potential of the preparations to supply adequate nutrition for our times (Keyserlingk, 2000; Roessner, 2014). He said that, in the future, the biodynamic preparations would not be sufficient to support adequate nutrition even under the most favorable conditions. Further, Steiner indicated that the light yam would become indispensable as a food and living medicine for the human etheric body (n.d.). In other words, the dense light ether of this plant can act as a carrier of spirit and thus serve higher human consciousness. Steiner also told us that the light yam ought to replace the European potato, the overconsumption of which he thought responsible for materialistic thinking (Keyserlingk, 2000; Roessner, 2014). That is, potatoes, because they have not quite developed into a true root such as beets and carrots, remain in the intestines and their nourishment never reaches the head or the brain (Steiner, 1991).

It is my premise that Steiner foresaw what electricity would mean to humankind. It is clear that we are now fully immersed in technologies that further separate us from nature and our own essential being. As far back as 1924, Steiner could see that human beings would become “inductive apparatuses” (Steiner, 1923, Lectures …, p. 10; Steiner, 1923, Gesamtausgabe…, p. 13; Zimmermann, n.d.) through the invisible and subnatural forces of electricity, which he referred to as “fallen light ether.” Steiner (1923, July; Kaslev, n.d.) described the etheric reality (n.d.) as the region of the nature spirits, or elementals as Paracelsus (n.d.) called them.

It is far from the truth to say that we are “turning on the light.” Actually, we are activating the artificial electricity that interferes with and disrupts the human electromagnetic field and brain rhythms, which for optimal human health are thought to function best at the longstanding Schumann Resonance (SR) rate of 7.83 Hertz. The SRs (n.d.) comprise a set of spectrum peaks in the extremely low frequency (ELF) portion of the Earth’s electromagnetic field. Schumann resonances occur globally and are naturally generated and excited by lightning discharges within the cavity formed by the Earth’s surface and the ionosphere.

Not all scientists, however, accept that SRs are universally constant. Gregg Braden (2012) and other researchers, such as those at the Global Coherence Initiative (2016), report that the SR rate regularly rises to 11 Hertz and higher. It is interesting to note that as the SRs (sometimes called Mother Earth’s heartbeat) increase, we may feel an “awakened calm” that reflects humankind seeking balance with the new energies. Perhaps this awakening is also happening in other life forms––both seen and unseen (Forti, 2015).

The interfering technologies to which I refer include the following:

- Nonionized electromagnetic radiation (EMR), such as smart meters, wireless energy, cell phone towers, radar installations, and other electrically driven home and industrial appliances
🔥3
- Aerosol spraying and ionospheric heater technology that cause the ingestion and inhalation of nanobots and heavy metal nanoparticles
- Inoculations that contain mercury, other toxic chemicals, or self-propelled nanobots harmful to life
- Synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, including new mixes with nanobots
- Biotechnology and genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
- Ionizing radiation, such as from the following: deployed nuclear weapons disguised as earthquakes and such, inevitable leaks in nuclear plants, only-one-choice cancer remedies made of radioactive chemicals, nuclear waste moved by high-risk transportation and buried near large population centers, and pesticides and agrochemicals dumped in local landfills worldwide and often left smouldering after, for example, spontaneously erupting, accidentally catching on fire, or purposely being set ablaze.

Robert Becker warned in 1990 that modern technologies allow frequencies to be pulsed in and through us that affect our natural rhythms and cycles. As a result, these conventions thwart us from remembering our divine inheritance. Since the mid-1990s, the Earth also has been challenged to absorb the intended balancing effects of the biodynamic preparations, which allow life to thrive. Although we need more grounded research to confirm this, the planet is clearly unable to supersede the consequences of our mistreatment. For example, increased amounts of atmospheric and earthly pollution, made evident by the rise in conductive aluminum particulates and increasing alkalinity in the soil and acidity in the oceans, reportedly cause all manner of deleterious outcomes (Klinghardt, n.d.; Otterpohl, n.d.; Freeland, 2014).

The rise of wireless technologies and the nonionizing radiation of electromagnetic frequencies subsequently bring unwanted changes as well to the human and planetary etheric bodies residing in the unseen world. The human etheric body is the egg-shaped aura that surrounds the physical body and is the source of life energy. The planetary etheric body is a widespread mental energy field that includes the noösphere. We connect with this realm through thought, feeling, prayer, and meditation. Teilhard de Chardin and others have proposed that the noösphere (n.d.) greatly affects the health and consciousness of sentient beings and the planet alike. For example, Steiner suggested that many heart ailments are partially due to one’s inability to develop the third etheric heart, which is born through self-realization. It “becomes an eye of cognition for supersensible beings and for the etheric Christ Himself, protected and cherished in the Michaelic mystery-culture of will as it is destined for our epoch” (Steiner, 1924; Haertl, 2000).

The fact that problematic electromagnetic frequencies, multiplied by heavy metal nanoparticles such as aluminum, are silent and invisible should not deter us from examining the immense effects they may have on health and consciousness. The intense planetary forces they unleash also suggest an unseen world beyond the physical terrain, causing us to examine every relationship with both our immediate environment and the cosmos.
We can do much better. Those who work with the good, the true, and the beautiful in the formative and etheric realms––via the elementals and cosmic creative energies in meditative and practical work––stand at an unprecedented portal. We are called to respond lovingly and willingly to the renewing life stream that is offered to all, regardless of one’s motives or actions. We are living in a time when the heroic battles that Archangel Michael fought with Lucifer and Ahriman in the heavens are now being played out on Earth through the asuras. According to Karyn Martin-Kuri (1996), “As with any situation of group evolution, there were angelic beings who held themselves back and refused to participate fully in spiritual development.” These battles in the heavens “happen over and over, as long as we have manifestation in physical form. The asuras have their origin in the realm of the rebellious dynameis [anti-rhythmic activities contrary to nature] and can be felt in such situations as mass murders accomplished without any emotion” (p. 64).

It is time that we each step up to the plate and declare our creative, spiritual right to co-create with Mother Earth without interference. Through a moral agenda, together we can choose to bring in the Christ light––or risk being plunged deeper into darkened realms.

The growing awareness of increasing adverse energies visited me during the early 1990s when I experienced surprising hindrances while working with the biodynamic preparations. They seemed not to take hold and bring about the intended healing in the landscape. For instance, when the preparations were related to the increase or the decrease of available moisture, I detected a blockage in the “aura” of the landscape. It was necessary to do several stir and spray sequences to bring in the intended moisture (rain). Likewise, I noted a reduced amount of atmospheric oxygen during this time, particularly during hot spells in the summer when it was difficult to breathe. It seemed that the Earth’s respiration and absorption rhythms were out of balance. In the presence of intensifying winds and storms in our area, the preps’ apparent moderation in weather patterns and rhythms was no longer a given. I had not known a time when I was not able to use them to “make music” with the Earth. Something seemed awry with the harmonics of the transmitting and receiving forces in both humans and nature.

To highlight my concern, I shall relay memories from two different time periods that stand in stark contrast to each other. These details happened during the individualization of Aurora Farm in the Kootenay River Valley of southeast British Columbia. First, in 1989, I recollect the protection afforded by the horn manure (#500)—the initial preparation added to the land. Upon completion of the spray, I experienced a palpable buffer of nourishment, like a protective shield over the landscape (earth and atmosphere) where the horn manure had been sprayed. I could feel a distinct veil between sprayed and unsprayed areas. I also had the sensation of a bridge being created from my thinking and feeling to my will forces, along with the awareness that the elementals (cosmic creative energies) were present and assisting in this process. As the agricultural practitioner, I was not doing anything per se; my will was simply attuning to the etheric formative energies. All was well.

Paramahansa Yogananda (2002) described will as “that which changes thought into energy” (p. 32). When my will was attuned to the incoming cosmic creative energies, I experienced grace and ease as I was directed to the necessary action. I would describe it as surrendering, a “Thy will, not mine” experience. Other times, when my will was weaker, it was a constant struggle to merge with the landscape angels and hierarchies, to be able to listen and hear without distraction, judgment, and forcing the issue. This weakening included times of illness when the body was less strong.
❤3👍1
My contrasting memory occurred in the early years of the millennium, when the first cell phone tower was installed on the hill immediately to the north of the farm. I sensed that the goodness and protective forces, which had been built up over the years via the biodynamic preparations (combined with my agnihotra practice2), were being tampered with by the electromagnetic frequencies and radiation now all around. Along with this came a noticeable weakening of my will and retreat of the elemental beings. Suddenly all was not well in the landscape.

During composting workshops on the farm and in other places, I now needed to request participants to leave their electronic devices elsewhere, knowing that the elementals are unable to do their work in the presence of electrosmog. We risk the betrayal of these etheric helpers when we bring further materialistic forces between us. After all, we are in debt to the spiritual world for all of our knowledge and awareness (Steiner, 1923, Man…).

In the past several years, I have taken Steiner at his word, interacting with two light yam products to discover their etheric properties. The first was introduced in 2009 and is intended for human healing—16x homeopathic pellets of dioscorea batatas. In January 2012, I facilitated the preparation of a product consisting of 16x dioscorea batatas, homeopathic gold, frankincense, lavender, and myrrh oils added to a base cream. Because the skin is the largest assimilative organ, the cream acts as a protective shield from the antirhythmic forces suspected of causing unprecedented illness in the four kingdoms of life on the planet.

In my current practice, I grind the homeopathic light yam pellets at a dosage rate confirmed by dowsing (kinesiology)2 to integrate them into the biodynamic stirring and spraying process. While stirring, I also intone sacred Sanskrit sounds (coherent frequencies, such as Om3) into a sun-infused rainwater solution. I find it important to maintain clear intent before and during the work. At the same time, I seek to remain open to aspects of higher consciousness associated with this benevolent plant friend.

In my experience, the light yam enhances the healing effects of the biodynamic preparations, allowing a continuous and unbroken light stream that “catches” in the physical world, as observed in a newly planted seedbed when all conditions stand at optimum. I do not claim to understand the subtle action of the light ether in this living medicine, as we do not yet have adequate language or research to describe all the workings of the four ethers and the formative forces in flux behind nature. I do know, however, that each time I use the light yam for the express purpose of healing in the context of sacred agriculture, its beneficial results are soon apparent.

We are often at a loss to describe the intrinsic nature or essence of a new remedy. I would summarize the workings of the light yam as setting up the optimal conditions for healing to occur through continuous light-to-light communication. By contrast, illness occurs when the light stream is broken or interrupted (Becker, 1990). The light yam, when used either alone or along with biodynamic preparations, seems to reset the harmonics in the energy field. It acts as a portal to a unified field in which the remedies can take hold and nourish the territory in question.

The overall outcome is meant to assist the elemental and spiritual realms for the good of all. The nourishment we receive in return integrates our feeling and thinking bodies with the strength of will. Thus, enlightened moral impulses become more tangible, more available. In this way, the human steward becomes the preparation itself, and we begin to truly move in and through the formative etheric realms via new portals that allow cosmic creative energies to stream forth.

This is the first of a series of white papers concerning various research topics associated with the light root or yam (Diascorea batatas). I invite comments from my colleagues to join with others in the ongoing dialogue on this living medicine. Also, I am seeking those who may wish to be small-scale growers of the light yam as well as co-producers of quality light root homeopathic remedies.
