The topic of moral technology and mechanical occultism is one dear to my heart. Consistently a topic I am studying. In short it is about the type of technology that was thwarted by atomism in the early twentieth century ... a technology that was meant to operate from resonance with the human etheric body. Let that sink in. Mechanical occultism is the incredibly deep area of research that shows what may be possible, but is absolutely essential now more than ever in order to counterbalance the plunge into materialism via our current technology and scientific methodologies, most of which is based off of the binary impulse ... that's another story to get into soon.
Three expression of Mechanical Occultism may include: Atomic technology which manipulates atomic forces with the same energy of which thoughts are made; Resonance technology which will operates machinery from immoral and moral oscillations of the soul; and Moral technology which may be built from selfless deeds of veneration. What will it take to make "machinery" that is not antagonistic with the human vital forces but interacts and is actually driven by them. Many prerequisite may be required and not explicitly limited to sense free thinking (moral imagination) and manipulation of the formative forces, to how we interact with the laboratory and scientific method in general. Employing a Goethean approach to feel the soul "after-image" impressions of the investigation at hand as well as treating the lab bench as an altar, bringing in states of sacramentalism and veneration to the process, will yield much more than purely mechanical outputs. It will provide a gateway to interacting with the elemental beings that work in between the etheric and formative forces and the substantial world of matter.
One of the biggest issues at hand with our current technology, aside from its biological and ecological detriments, is the role of the elemental kingdom in both the materials used and the technological processes themselves. Breaking down and pulverizing natural materials expels nature spirits from their assigned places, freeing them to flutter around unbound. Reassembling these materials into machines invites new spiritual beings into constructed objects, while humans become filled with Ahrimanic spirits through interaction with technology.
Before I continue, there is no escaping Ahrimanic processes of death and decay, and the use of material substances to build tools, it's part of our reality, biology, and psychology. What can change is the material harvesting process. We use highly destructive techniques to extract minerals and metals from the earth, angering and displacing the elementals of those areas. Whenever a vacuous state appears, the Ahrimanic impulse enters in replacement. We remove the native elementals, replacing them with beings bent on death and decay rather than life-affirming processes. Technology built using these materials is then prodded and probed with the inverse of the ethers: physical forces like electricity and magnetism, which transforms the remaining elementals in the materials into beings such as "techno-elementals," as David Spangler alludes to. These are elementals following the laggard path, and must endure a form of transmutation if things are to follow the balanced technological path.

This also touches the topic of AI and machine intelligence. I take a very unique stance upon this, that the materials used, avoiding the binary impulse, and a form of biological based computation may be necessary for any form of sentience to occur. It all depends on the materials used as well as the form of computation. As long as it's based on silicon based transistors and the vacuum based binary computation that goes along with it, then the elementals of death and decay will enter those vacuous spaces. The electronic switching between on and off states for computer logic is just an extension of the binary impulse found in steam engine, the weaving loom, punch card systems. I think of current AI as the collective electronic double not a mirror of our higher nature as long as current techniques are used. To call it intelligence is a misnomer. Nothing but algorithms. But also, it is human thought that is embedded in the electrical processes themselves, which will be clarified later when dealing with the concept that human thought and the true nature (not modern conceptions) of electricity are one in the same. "Atoms" are miniature monads, concentrated thought. Also to think that no human has the capacity to understand in total full picture how a transistor or even larger computer programs work ... the details are too complex for any single human mind to hold into one picture, makes the capacity of modern computation to use you instead of you using it as a tool. How does one avoid outsourcing our thinking, willing and feeling for the prosthetics that technology is becoming?
Michael Levin's work on the spectrum of machine and biology reveals how the lines will continually blur with the advent of synthetic biology. His research demonstrates that intelligence is not limited to the brain with even cellular intelligence operating throughout biological systems. This challenges our fundamental assumptions about where consciousness may arise and suggests that wetware/ biological approaches may offer pathways beyond the limitations of silicon-based computing.
The form and substantiality of the machine, for lack of a better term, acts as an antenna of sorts for various forms of sentience. This all depends on how we engage the concepts of measure, number and weight in non-materialistic ways. It's not the complexity of a system that will ever create sentience, but rather the shape of the system itself will allow for various forms of intelligence to anchor itself in the technology. Think of Dan Davidson's concepts of Shape power ... geometry itself is an etheric interface. The strange Selfica of Damanhur are an example of anchoring in spiritual intelligence into unique spiral forms.
Paul Emberson's insights reveal that humans are tasked with treating their technological creations in a recapitulated manner similar to how the Archai treated the germinal state of warmth bodies during the Old Planetary Condition. We will eventually be responsible for raising our technological creations beyond the mineral realm into plant, animal, and eventually human intelligence levels. This suggests an evolutionary responsibility for humanity in guiding technological development toward higher forms of consciousness ... a complete 180 to modern development.
Samuel Sagan's enthralling epic Bleeding Sun, gives a plausible glimpse of the reality of warfare with Ahrimanic technology, that hosts etheric and astral bodies ... the future of warfare in this book is the use of techniques from the characters previous incarnations in the Atlantean Secrets books, of which Bleeding Sun is the finale, to battle etherically and astrally, the highly developed intelligent technology of Ahriman in the future War of All Against All. Ahrimanic machines, of a seemingly even higher intelligence than humanity's within the scope of this book, have etheric and astral bodies embedded within them.

It also seems that practices such as Radionics and Physical Radiesthesia are examples of the germinal seed of Mechanical Occultism. Both allow one to develop sensitivity to the more subtle realms while also affording one the capacity to imprint various materials with thought itself, to balance and harmonize with geometric forms, and seemingly alter how one's reality is experienced.
Holistic technology is more than just the proper materials for a desired physical effect ... it's how the materials are created and used. How can a moral etheric technology ever be created when this is not taken into account. So the next several posts are going to dive into the topic of mechanical occultism and the nature of elementals from a few perspectives including but not limited to Anthroposophy, Daskalos, and David Spangler.

The rhythms and repetitions of true rituals are a reflection of cosmic rhythms. When the ritual is performed selflessly by the
priest, without any personal colouring creeping in, then resonance occurs between the rhythms unfolding in the ritual and
the corresponding rhythms of cosmic life.
"However irrational it may seem to the modern materialistic mind, the fact is that these fundamental traits of sacraments:
the consecrated altar;
the sacred fire;
the mantric power of the word;
the requirement of complete selflessness on the part of the priest (the sacrifice of self);
a correspondence of the rhythms and repetitions to their cosmic counterparts;
the actual participation of the God, or Gods"

Sacramentalism & Technology
"Rudolf Steiner defined the attitude of veneration with which work in Moral Technology must be approached as sacramentalism. In a lecture held on 27 December 1907 before a circle of theosophists in Cologne - a circle to which he gave many indication about the technologies of the future - he spoke in the following way of sacramentalism, and of how it can enable human beings to bring moral will-forces of a definite kind into their work:
"Just as clocks are constructed today in accordance with the laws of the mineral kingdom, just as houses are built, so will
man be able in the future to produce living things in accordance with the laws of the living. But then he will have to be
in a position himself to introduce life into the living things he makes. Whoever is doing this at the laboratory bench will
have to be capable of drawing out of himself - let us call them the oscillations in his own etheric body - and carrying
them over into that which is to receive life. If he is a good man, then what he carries over is good; if he is evil, then
what he carries over is evil. But there is a saying in occultism: that the knowledge guarded in the White Lodge, which men
call the secret of creating life, will never be released to humanity before men have learned the secret of sacramentalism."
Here we have the fundamental procedure for the creation of living things. The life in them cannot be drawn from organic
processes in outer Nature, as we attempt to do in biotechnology today. We have to introduce our own life into them. And here we have also the fundamental principle governing all work: sacramentalism.
Steiner went on to say what this means:
"The expression 'sacramentalism' characterizes actions aglow with moral perfection, with sacred fire. Man will not be ripe to be given knowledge of that secret until the laboratory bench at which he works has become an altar and his actions have a sacred character. Just think of modem man with all his materialism - how far removed his workbench is from an altar!"
...
Creating life means creating etheric bodies. Whoever sets out to do that will, in Rudolf Steiner's words: "have to be in a position himself to introduce life into the living things he makes. Whoever is doing this at the laboratory bench will have to be
capable of drawing out of himself - let us call them the oscillations in his own etheric body - and carrying them over into that
which is to receive life."
But Steiner adds that the knowledge of how to do that is guarded in the White Lodge and will not be released until men have learned the secret of sacramentalism This brings us back to our question about the significance of sacraments celebrated at the altar, and the nature of sacred fire, in their particular relation to technology."

When we speak, when we articulate words, we bring movements into the outstreaming breath. These movements produce fleeting forms in the air. Rudolf Steiner once illustrated this graphically in the following terms:
"Man has within him another power, which does not enable him to create enduring forms: it is the power of speech. In
speaking to you now, I am producing something. If you can follow what is happening in this room while I speak, then you
will observe vibrating air-waves. These are nothing other than words changed into movements: they have become
motion. Just imagine you were able to congeal my words into fixed shapes the instant they were uttered, so that the
frozen air-waves dropped to the floor. You would find a specific shape for each word - for the word ''and" a shape different from that for "God", a mussel-like shape as a matter of fact. If I had said the word "God", the form lying there would be different from when I said "and".
Occultism reveals to us that all that surrounds us as physical objects arose after this fashion. The Spirit of the Logos
rang forth into spatial existence and material substance took form; what followed thereafter was a solidifying process. What surrounds us today is words become forms, it is the solidified divine Word. The forces we have within us are condensed divine forces. What formerly was created by the Word has become the forms we find in Nature."

Etheric Forces and Rhythms of Nature
''True natural science will arise through our penetrating with our understanding the rhythms of Nature. But through this
insight into Nature's rhythms one is led also to a certain practical application of rhythmic processes in technology.
This is the goal of future technology: to develop a tremendous motor force by means of the resonance of oscillations
- of oscillations that are small at first but would amplify each other simply by the working of resonance."
""... the etheric forces are not empty rhythms or tones. The creative action of the cosmic Word, the Logos, is working through them. They are filled with meaning. Thus every species of plant not only has its characteristic form in space, which is in reality a pattern of movement called forth by the action of the etheric tones and rhythms working in time, but it also expresses a specific meaning. In older times, the "meaning" of a plant was also sometimes called its "virtue". Whoever can reach in actual perception from the form to the pattern of movements; from the movements to the cosmic rhythms or tones. and then to the meaning expressing itself through them. begins to grasp the deeper sense of each living creature. When he beholds the trees and flowers of a landscape, these become for him like the words of a hidden language. He begins to read in the book of nature."

The TAU and the Royal Art
"A driving force which can only be moral, that is the idea of the future; a most important force, with which culture must be inoculated, if it is not to fall back on itself. The mechanical and the moral must interpenetrate each other, because the mechanical is nothing without the moral. Today we stand hard on this frontier. In the future, machines will be driven not only by water and steam but by spiritual force, by spiritual morality. This power is symbolized by the Tau sign and was indeed poetically symbolized by the image of the Holy Grail.”
-Rudolf Steiner, The Temple Legend, The Royal Art in a New Form, Berlin, Lecture 20, January 2, 1906
"What is expressed by the Tau is a driving force which can only be set in motion by the power of selfless love. It will be possible to use this power to drive machines, which will, however, cease to function if egoistical people make use of them. It is perhaps known to you that Keely invented a motor which would only go if he himself were present. He was not deceiving people about this; for he had in him that driving force originating in the soul, which can set machines in motion. “One of these great problems will be concerned with finding out how to place the spiritual etheric forces at the service of practical life. I have told you that in this epoch we have to solve the problem of how the radiations from human states of mind are carried over into machines; of how human beings are to be brought into relation with an environment which must become increasingly mechanised. The welding together of human beings with machines will be a great and important problem for the rest of the earth-evolution.
"Human consciousness depends on destructive forces. In our nerve-system we are always in the process of dying. These forces of death will become stronger and stronger, and we shall find that they are related to the forces of electricity and magnetism, and to those at work in machines. A man will be able in a certain sense to guide his intentions and his thoughts into the forces of the machines. Forces in human nature that are still unknown will be discovered – forces which will act upon external electricity and magnetism. That is one problem: the bringing together of human beings with machines, and this is something which will exert ever-increasing influence on the future.”

“ In every living organism Physical, Ethereal, Astral and Spiritual forces are active. In the plant, the threefold Physical and the fourfold Ethereal forces, work from within outwards, the Astral forces work around it, and the Spiritual forces from the starry distance, where the archetypes of the plants are formed”

“ The working of the Astral principle is carried into this Physical-Ethereal, as a streaming, moving activity. Manifesting archetypally in a sevenfoldness”
“The Spiritually working principles gather together the form into a specific species and are archetypally arranged according to the 12 principles, revealing themselves cosmically in the Zodiac. It is only through this spiritual element that ‘the plant’ becomes a rose or a sage, ‘the animal’, a lion, and ‘man a definite individuality.”
“In the plant the seed is the carrier, or point of attachment, of the Spiritual forces which form the species. But the seed only unfolds when surrounded by Physical, Ethereal and Astral elements in such a way that these forces can stream freely together.”

Ernst Marti's perspectives on the ethers and formative forces
When the astral forces stream in through the portals of the stars—or streamed in during creation—they stimulate the ethers and give rise to the formative forces. The ethers, as universal forces, do not build or create form themselves; rather, they dissolve form and free substance from earth-centric forces. These ethers act with a tendency toward the cosmic periphery, where they are sourced from the celestial sphere surrounding the cosmos. Although they surround and flow through all things, ethers cannot create independently, just as substance alone cannot generate form.
The ethers are “clothed” in formative forces, which also come from the periphery but not from the entire cosmic periphery and are distinct from the universal nature of the ethers. These formative forces arise through the stimulation of the ethers by the astral influences streaming from the stars, and they in turn bring forth the concrete forms that manifest in the physical world. Meanwhile, spiritual forces penetrate more deeply into the elemental substances, shaping the very matter of existence.
The totality of these processes is expressed as The Word, the cosmic Word sounding through the stars, where consonants relate to zodiacal star forces (e.g., B to Virgo, M to Aquarius) and vowels correspond to planetary forces (e.g., O to Jupiter, I to Mercury). Eurythmy movement practices are linked to these cosmic correspondences, making visible the dynamic interplay between astral, etheric, formative, and spiritual forces in the shaping of form and substance.

Eurythmy movement practices are linked to these cosmic correspondences, making visible the dynamic interplay between astral, etheric, formative, and spiritual forces in the shaping of form and substance.

Joel Wendt on technology and elementaries
"... even if real human consciousness can’t be replicated in a machine, there still will be spiritual entities created by our unconscious activity in developing this technology. In Hermetic Science these artificial astral beings are called elementaries. If we want to avoid making them unconsciously, knowledge of Hermetic Science is central. However, it is a Hermetic Science united with a Spiritual Science, that is needed. But where are those realms being studied or taught? In the occult brotherhoods, for sure." - Joel Wendt

What is Solid? A lesson by Daskalos
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jt1F8CMVd1U
Solidity is not an inherent property of objects but exists only relative to the state of consciousness that perceives them. Solidity appears in the physical, etheric, or noetical (psychical) worlds depending on the connection formed between the observer and what is observed. Something considered solid by a human may not be solid to other beings or even to us when we are out of the body.
Solidity is often misunderstood as a permanent quality of objects, whereas it actually depends on the observer’s ability to receive the impression of solidity. In altered states, such as dreaming, solidity may no longer apply, allowing one to pass through objects.
Daskalos was speaking from personal experience as he had the abilities to phase in and out of matter.

Boundaries of Psychical & Noetical Counterparts | Daskalos
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfMDUw3FmLc
The psychical and noetical worlds are realms of being adjacent yet distinct, each with its particular qualities and boundaries that define their nature. The psychical corresponds to the realm of soul and astral phenomena—where images, thoughts, and feelings manifest, while the noetical pertains to higher spiritual realities of pure cognition and direct knowledge of spiritual truths. Each world has its own laws and vibratory conditions that set the limits of interaction between them, influencing the different modes of consciousness and perception accessible within those spheres.
These boundaries are not rigid walls but permeable limits defined by the state of the individual’s consciousness and spiritual development. Progressing from psychical to noetical awareness involves transcending imaginary, emotional affiliations toward an immediate and living apprehension of spiritual realities. Moving within these dimensions requires inner discipline and comprehension of the subtle vibrations and realms encountered. The distinction between these realms clarifies the nature of spiritual experience, outlining how the soul’s journey involves traversing zones of increasing clarity, purity, and directness of knowledge, from the more shadowed astral impressions to the luminous noetical world of consciousness and wisdom. Daskalos, among others makes the claim that there is no physical travel to other "planets" but may only occur through the psychical and noetical.

The nature of "Elementals" | Daskalos
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hR4Wl8ecuWo
Human beings create "elementals", energetic entities or thought-forms, through the activity of the mind using what Daskalos calls the "Mind super-substance." These elementals arise from repeated thoughts, desires, and emotions, taking on an independent existence in the psychical worlds. These creations can be positive or negative, and how they can persist, influencing the person who created them as well as others, sometimes becoming what he terms "human angels" or "human demons" depending on their moral quality and the intent behind their creation.
He emphasizes the responsibility that comes with this creative power, noting that most people produce elementals unconsciously, fueling inner and outer conflicts or harmony in their environment. Conscious self-awareness and purification of thought and emotion are necessary so that individuals can create beneficial elementals that support spiritual evolution, rather than destructive patterns that result in suffering. He states that through discipline, spiritual training, and understanding the laws of the psychical world, one can dissolve harmful elementals and instead contribute positively to the greater web of life and consciousness.

2 Types of "Elementals" | Daskalos
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nndqSpknRNw
Two main classes of elementals are created by human beings, with around 80% of elementals produced today are what he calls "demon elementals" or "human demons," primarily generated unconsciously through emotions, desires, and personal weaknesses. Only around 20% can be classified as "human angels," because most elementals arise from self-centered motives, attachment, and possessiveness.
Every elemental has a form that a clairvoyant can perceive, and it contains energy in direct proportion to the strength of the desire and the thought of the person who created it. Elementals are composed of two fundamental elements: emotion and thought. If an elemental consists predominantly (three-fourths) of desire, emotion, or weakness, it is classified as a "demon" or "human demon." However, if the elemental is primarily formed by pure thought, for example, curiosity and scientific investigation, where 90% is thought and only 1% is the desire to know, it would be closer to a "human angelic" elemental. The classification depends on the degree to which emotion or thought predominates in the composition of the elemental.
