I previously had a boss who had an interesting concept.

Whenever he was hiring, as usual procedure, he would make a job advertisement and receive the résumés.

He never contacted them first. But instead, he waited for the candidates to follow up on the status.

Whoever followed up, he invited for an interview.

Let’s not get into whether it’s right or wrong.

But the interesting part here is the FOLLOW-UP after sending.

I even asked him why he does this.

His response was interesting:
''Whoever follows up is genuinely interested in the position. they’re following up because they might have seen some value in the role.

People who simply apply to every job may not know the company well.
Candidates who follow up might really want this job, and the chances of them moving to another company shortly after are very low.''

Someone out there will send the same résumé as you.
But they’ll also send a follow-up.
And they’ll get the call.
Don’t let silence cost you the opportunity.
What??? Recruiters Blacklist you???

Yes, you have read it right.

Recruiters blacklist certain candidates in their internal database for several reasons.

But, even more, they notify other recruiters if the candidate has done a major forgery or unacceptable behaviour during the interview process. All the recruiters are connected to each other even if they work in different firms. So all will be aware if you have done major misconduct.

Recruiters do this for the following reasons.

1. At the VERY last moment you decide to reject the job offer.
(without a solid reason)

2. When you increase the expected salary during the last interview.

3. When you show your negative attitude during the interview.

4. If you have commented something Negative about the company on social media.

5. Several No-shows, or fake qualifications, unrealistic resumes, lying about key skills and experiences.

6. Recruiters also find out about your past misconduct.

Life-saving tip: Always be diplomatic & honest.

3 years ago, I stopped treating LinkedIn like a job board.

I started treating it like a visibility tool.

And no:
I didn’t post 10x a day
I didn’t have 10K followers
I didn’t use AI to write my content

But since I stopped ghosting the platform:
✓ I’ve received more candidate referrals
✓ More outreach from recruiters
✓ More inbound leads landed right in my inbox

I still see people who only use LinkedIn when they need a job or need to generate sales.
And most of the time? It doesn’t work.

Three years later, I’ve never been clearer on why I’ll never disappear from LinkedIn again.
People hire who they remember. Visibility creates opportunity.

STOP ghosting the platform for weeks.
START showing up like you already belong where you want to be.

Recently, a friend of mine, someone who worked with me as a co-worker a long time ago, shared his CV because he’s looking for a job.

And no:

‍‍‍‍‍‎ ‎ He didn’t mention what he actually did

‎ ‎ He didn’t list the softwares or tools he used

‎ ‎ He didn’t include the clients, countries, or the impact he made

Just job titles and buzzwords.

The thing is, since I know him personally:

‎ ‎ I know how hardworking he is

‎ ‎ I know the real value he can bring

‎ ‎I know he’s way more than that piece of paper

But a stranger wouldn’t.
And recruiters are strangers... at first glance.

They only know what’s on the paper in front of them.

So ask yourself:

‎ ‎ What softwares/ tools did you use?

‎ ‎ What clients or countries did you manage?

‎ ‎ What did you actually do?

‎ ‎ What changed because of your work?

If your CV doesn’t answer those... you’re invisible.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Fix your CV.
‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Tell your story.
‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Don’t let your silence cost you an interview.

“You’re so stupid.”
“Nobody likes you.”
“You’ll never be good at anything.''

If you never heard things like this growing up, you’re lucky.

If you did hear them at work too?

“That’s above your pay grade.”
“I’ll just redo it myself.”
These words don’t just hurt.
They stay with you.

Sometimes we carry the voice of the bully for years, even after they’re long gone.

But here’s something I want you to remember:
Have you seen sea glass?
It’s beautiful.
Smooth.
Shiny.
Rare.

But it wasn’t always like that.
It started as broken trash.
Thrown away.

Over time, the ocean softened its sharp edges.
Waves reshaped it.
What once cut... now shines.

You can be like that.

Yes... people hurt you.
Yes... maybe you're still healing.

But you’re not stuck.
Start here:
Admit what you need to improve.
Own your growth.
Show up, again and again.
The more they tried to break you...

The more beautiful your comeback can be.

Like sea glass.
Sharp once.
Strong now.

You didn’t deserve the pain.

But you do deserve to rise from it.

Just poured my heart out on LinkedIn.
It’s about childhood trauma the kind we never talk about but quietly carry.

💔 Separated parents
💔 Abuse that was never spoken about
💔 Losing someone too soon
💔 Being bullied for how you looked

If you’ve ever felt like your past still lives in your present…
This one’s for you.

Let me know what it brings up for you. Honestly. I’d love to hear.
These days, telegram feels like

Turning small talk into small loans.
I once reached out to a candidate for an opening.

He had been working at a very famous company.
10+ years of loyalty.
But here’s the reality

His salary was far below what he deserved.
His professional growth = zero.
His personal growth = zero.

The company only changed his job title once in a while,
added a tiny increment that made no difference,
and gave the usual perks transport, a small yearly bonus,
pizza parties, and the comfort of old colleagues.

That was his comfort zone.

The truth? He was a potential star candidate.
With his experience, he should be making 6X more today.
But he was too afraid to move.
Too many doubts. Too many fears.

And he stayed…

Here’s the hard truth:
Many people are stuck like this.
By the time you realize it, it’s too late.

If you’re reading this and feel the same
don’t let fear cost you years of growth.

Growth never happens in your comfort zone.
It happens the moment you dare to step out of it.

You deserve more. Always. 🤍

Jobless, stressed out.
It’s high time you do something productive when you are not working.

Reading is a must.
If you’re not a reader, listen to an audiobook or watch a video course. Learn something. If you don’t read, I’m sure you’re not learning anything.

Do some activity.
It doesn’t have to be the gym.
Walk, cycle, go on a hike once a month.
If you don’t hurt your body, your body will hurt you when you’re past your 30s.

Learn to play an instrument.
Trust me, one day it will help you.
At a party, or when you’re alone and depressed, music can overcome loneliness.

Do martial arts or swimming.
There’s no sport I could recommend more than these 2.

Do gardening.
If not, water the plants. Speak to them. Sounds crazy, but it gives mental peace.

If you don’t have pets, feed animals and birds.
You’ll understand the worth one day.

If you have some savings, invest in yourself.
Enroll in a course, a degree, or any education.

Join a book club or Toastmasters

Do these things.
One day, you’ll be grateful you did.
