Available to backers, or with your Gemini API key. • Answer or end a call by double tapping with two fingers. It now uses the phone's own dialing system, so it works reliably even on phones where it did nothing before. • Caller announcement: Turn on “Announce caller on incoming calls” (Settings, Verbosity) to hear the caller’s name or number when the phone rings. new NVDA add-on, Weather Checker. This is the very first public release of the add-on, and it is ready for you to download and use.
Weather Checker is a simple but powerful tool that provides weather reports, forecasts, astronomy details like sunrise and sunset, and active weather alerts directly inside NVDA. It supports two different weather providers, OpenWeather and Pirate Weather, and has a built-in failover feature. If one provider is down, the add-on automatically switches to the other so you always get your weather. You can also select both providers to get averaged conditions.
Here are the main features of this first release:
• Multi-service location search using Photon, OpenWeather, and Overpass, with caching so searches are fast and do not get rate-limited.
• Easy automatic location detection using your IP address with a single click.
• Automatic checks for new updates.
• Custom key mapping through NVDA's Input Gestures dialog.
Keyboard Shortcuts: By default, only one keyboard shortcut is assigned to prevent conflicts with NVDA's built-in commands:
• NVDA + Shift + W: Speaks the current weather. Double press to copy it.
All other actions (like speaking the weather forecast, speaking active weather alerts, speaking astronomy details, or cycling through favorite locations) can be freely assigned to your preferred key combinations by going to the NVDA Menu, opening Preferences, and selecting Input Gestures. Look for the Weather Checker category.
