Alan Turing is famous for breaking the Enigma machine code with an electromechanical computer, helping the allies in WWII(World War 2). Alan developed the idea for the Universal Turing Machine, the basis for the first computer. And he also developed a test for artificial intelligence in 1950, which is still used today.
