Had a serious talk with mom and it was about me getting married and having children
Mom started vouching for pregnancy traps on me 😭

Find me a female Forex Trader
I’ll try rizzing her up. Can never rely on freelancing to form a new family

This conversation is taken from one of the interviews I had with a top-rated TV show in 2033.
Interviewer: So, Yohannes, tell me one secret of yours to achieve all these things at such a young age. I mean, you recently cofounded multiple unicorn kinds of startups, you worked at a few of the big tech companies, you wrote a best-selling book, and you have been talking on stages like TedTalk and Tech Crunch. What is the secret to all these achievements? What is your recipe?
Me: *clears throat* First of all, I haven’t achieved much, and I am still learning. But for the things you have mentioned, to get those things, I think having multiple crushes helped me.
Interviewer: *👀*
Me: *sips from the glass of water at the table* So, I like to think about “natural selection” when I think about achieving your goals. What natural selection says is survival of the fittest, and I take that as analogous to women’s choice of mates. You know as a man you’re inclined to impress women around. I don’t know if you noticed it or not, but your performance gets crazy (top) when you are around women. A gym where everyone there is a man and a gym where there are women doing workouts are far different. The guys want to show off their strengths and endurance when there are potential mates.
So, to get to my point, by having multiple crushes, you would have multiple muses for creativity, productivity, and even humor. So I advise any man in his twenties to have crushes around his neighborhood so that he will take care of himself even if he’s staying at home, at school to excel at his academic endeavor, at work to get him productive, over LinkedIn to get him accountable for starting up his business soon, over Facebook or Instagram to make him much more presentable, funny, and quick-witted. By any means, though, don’t you dare date in your twenties. It makes you complacent. So that is my tip. That has been my principle for the last ten years.

- Started coding in freshman year
- I’ve always wanted to become a doctor
- I started documenting my journey online. I got a couple of opportunities from LinkedIn which helped me learn iOS development and provided me with the tools I needed.
What worked for me was the fact that I started showing my work way before I became an expert at something.
Not a mistake, but something I would have corrected if I started over would be focusing on LeetCode.
Advice would be to show your work more than you work

I’d focus on projects and internships more
And I’d ignore chasing perfect marks. It’s not that serious

Not an introvert, but I am extremely careful about not joking and talking much before building some rapport with someone I meet for the first time (esp in a professional setting)
