Tales from the paper mill: Drunk at work. The startup from a project in Ticonderoga NY went way long and the ABB engineer had gone 2 days without sleep. Once they were making paper he drove to his hotel. He decided to get shit faced in the hotel bar and then tuck in for the night. About 2am something went wrong with the machine and they needed him back at the mill. So the Jr engineer drove over to his hotel to get him. He was way too drunk to drive so the guy drove him to the mill and got some coffee in him on the way there. They whisked him into the DCS room before anyone could smell him and set him to work. He solved their programming issue and walked out of the mill at 7am..... and they let him walk around the snow covered parking lot looking for his rental car... that was back at the hotel.

Tales from the sawmill: guys were jackassing around at the saw mill and one of them got too close to a saw blade and cut his ear off. He started hollering and everyone comes over to help. They all get down on hands and knees looking for his ear. After a few minutes, one of them finds the missing ear.

The guy says "nah that's not my ear. Mine had a pencil behind it."

Now that pride month is over, Home Depot says they will resume selling straight lumber.
