Fun story.... In hte early 90's paper machine control system made by Industrial Nucleaonics (later ABB) was a honeywell 6/43. it was the stereotypical 1960's computer with winky blinky lights on the front panel and used 8" floppies. One of our guys got a call from the mill one night that the power was out and he got up and started driving to the mill. Before he arrived, the power was back on and the back tender called his house hoping to catch him before he left. So the guy's wife answers the phone and tells backtender he's already half way to the mill.... back tender says "well the power's back on and we don't know how to restart this computer". So the wife tells him "press control, load , execute... when the display says -0002, press excecute again". The guy was baffled... wife told him I've never seen the computer, never touched one... but I've listened to him tell you guys what buttons to push for years".

An important lesson was learned today.

Something changed in SouthAfrica around 1994.... wonder what it was.

1) be the designated driver.
2) Drive your drunk friends home so they are safe.
3) Stop at every gas station on the way and tell the drunks you need gas money.
4) profit!

Well, he tried. This guy makes you miss Mr HVAC don't it?
