Tales from the papermill: At an undisclosed paper mill in the middle of NC one of the E&I guys was on call for Christmas. He'd just spent Christmas eve afternoon at his in-law's place with the kids opening some gifts and headed home. On the way home the mill called him. So he dropped off wife and kids at his house and headed to the mill. About 5 minutes later the neighbor called him. Said his roof was on fire and his wife was burned. She had intended to burn the boxes and wrapping papers in the trash barrel but used gasoline instead of diesel. it flashed back into the plastic gas can and exploded all over her. The gas can launched up onto the roof and caught it on fire. His wife was flown to the burn center in Raleigh NC where she was put into a medical coma. The mill gave him all the time he needed. He was working when he could and spending 3 days a week up in Raleigh. She finally succumbed in April.

Make sure you tell your wife and kids never start a fire with gas. And yes I know this guy. He told me the story himself later that year.
