Tales from the paper mill: I cut my teeth in the early 90's at IP Georgetown. I had just spoken to a black guy named James as he was standing on the fourdrinner table of pm2. We finished talking and I headed back to the office. About the time the paper machine door closed behind me I head them calling for medical on the radio on my shoulder. James had a raincoat on and when he finished speaking to me he walked toward the end of the table near the press. His coat snagged on something and he quickly snapped around to pull his coat loose. His hand went into the nip up to his wrist. He's a big strapping guy and was able to pull his hand back out. It pulled all the hide off his forearm nearly to his elbow. He lost the tips of all of his fingers. What was left of his fingers and palm looked like a tom and jerry cartoon "hand hit with a mallet". The hospital grafted skin from his thigh onto his arm and hand. He eventually came back to the mill to work.

A guy is late for an important job interview and can't find a parking space.

He looks up to the heavens and says, "Lord, if you give me a place to park, I promise to put $100 in the collection plate next Sunday!"

All at once the clouds part and a beam of sunlight falls upon an empty space.

The guy glances heavenward again. "Never mind, I found one!"
