The incident occurred at a 7-Eleven, where the masked thief was stuffing items into a garbage bin and brandishing an unseen weapon. The owner and a co-worker intervened, resulting in the thief being thrashed until he begged for mercy.

No criminal charges were filed against the Sikh shop owner or his co-worker for the assault, as confirmed by authorities in August 2023.
