Story time.... one of my neighbors was the lab quality guy at a plastic extrusion plant. They were short handed one day and someone asked him to come help clean the extruder. They have about a 12' long wire brush they run thru the extruder with a battery drill to clean it out... and the 12' rod gets a little wobbly in the middle. My neighbor was told to hold the rod in the middle so it didn't thrash around. He put on grippy gloves, not raw hide leather gloves... AND he wrapped his finger under the rod to support it. It wasn't 30 seconds and the rod had grabbed onto his ring finger and pulled it off inside the glove. He lost his finger at the knuckle just above his wedding band. So they take him to the hospital. By now his finger is starting to swell and he can't get his wedding band off. Never fear the hospital has a cutter for that, but it's broken. So he gets them to get one of the maint guys' wire cutters and cut his own wedding band off. Later that day he's at home and I dropped in to see him. I said "well two in the pink and one in the stink just got a lot easier". He didnt find it funny.
