I've had to unlink the previous discussion group (WindscribeHQchat) as it had permissions I can't change. The new linked group (WindscribeChat) should now allow you guys to reply with regular messages instead of only images/gifs. I hope.

Okay it's working properly now with the new discussion group. You can now leave the old WindscribeHQchat group as we will not be monitoring it.

Thanks for your responses above. We are aware of the ongoing VPN connection issues in Iran and Russia and are working on solutions. As of right now, the best option we can offer is to paid users. Contact our support team via a ticket and ask for the anti-censorship config file for Amnezia WireGuard (include the device+OS and a couple of VPN locations you want to try) . This has shown to be quite successful in getting around government blocks and it is our highest priority to get this out into our native applications. Once it is in the app, it will not be limited to paid users, everyone will have access.

Very soon we are going to start releasing a beta Android APK for people in Iran and Russia to test it and see how it performs. We're also working on a Windows build to get this out ASAP. After that iOS and Mac will also get their builds to test. We appreciate your patience as we work on this problem ❤️

Before we release those, we just want to gather a couple more metrics on how our app is performing right now if you folks don't mind answering.

We've been hard at work on the new anti-censorship measures in our apps which are implemented for almost everyone. The latest versions of our iOS and Android apps and the pre-release versions of the desktop apps have a new option to let you select WireGuard configs that have shown to be helpful in connecting on various restricted networks.

HOW TO USE
1. Manually enable the WireGuard protocol.
Go to Preferences > Connection > Connection Mode.
Set this to Manual.
Set Protocol to WireGuard.

2. Enable Circumvent Censorship.
Go to Preferences > Connection > Circumvent Censorship and make sure it's toggled ON.

3. Select one of the provided configs (A to G) under the Circumvent Censorship option.
This will take some trial and error on your end. The results will vary based on your region and ISP.

4. Reconnect to the VPN from the main screen.
The connection might take some time so leave it connecting for 20-30 seconds.

5. If the VPN connection is successful, check that you have internet connectivity.
If the connection didn't work after 20-30 secs, go back to step 3 and select a different config from the list.

If you find a combination of settings that work for you, please post it below so we can gather them and recommend options for others to try. Mention your Country, ISP, the Protocol, Port, Circumvent Censorship config selected (if using WireGuard) and the VPN location you're connected to. For example:

We have begun adding some new anti-censorship configurations to our apps for users in Iran.

Yesterday we tested the first version of this and it worked for a little bit until it was blocked as well. Today we are publishing new configurations after making some changes to see if they work. Early tests were promising but with the internet blocking in Iran being very aggressive, we cannot say how long these new configurations will work for, or even if they will work at all. All we can do right now is try and hope for the best. If these stop working, we will explore more changes for Iran connections.

To access the new configurations:
1. Make sure you have the latest version of the Windscribe apps. If you can't download them from the website, check the pinned messages in the Windscribe Chat channel where you'll find the files.

2. Go into Preferences > Connection > Connection Mode and set the Protocol to WireGuard on Port 443.

3. In Preferences > Connection, enable Circumvent Censorship.

4. Select a configuration file to use.
