Paid amplification - scam or tool?

Some influencers boost their content with ads - YouTube videos via Google Ads, X threads via promo, TG posts via propeller. Real traffic, not bots - but not organic either.
So, is it cheating?

It’s fine if:

They warn you in advance.
The boost budget is separate (10–30% of total).
You see split stats: organic vs paid.
Targeting fits your geo and audience.
Tracking links or on-chain data confirm traffic.

It’s a scam if:

- You’re not told.
- Views grow fast but engagement stays low.
- Comments are fake or geo doesn’t match.
- They hide behind “we’ll handle promotion ourselves”.

Our rule: paid boost is a tool - when transparent. But when used to fake organic reach, it’s deception.
We prefer to run boosts ourselves - clear caps, proper targeting, open stats.

✉️ Email in crypto is a background tool, not a conversion engine.

Two formats:

Sponsored editorial newsletter -your block inside a media’s regular send.

Dedicated / solo send -a stand‑alone email fully about your offer.

⚠️ For cold brands both underperform. B2B filters, shift to messengers, ad blindness.
In our tests OR 1%, CR-lead 0.01-0.03% even with big publishers. One‑off sends rarely pay back.

🔁 As an auxiliary trigger in a multi‑touch plan and with consistent presence in one outlet; goal = awareness/interest validation. For airdrops/presales use native platforms; for mid‑long funnels, SEO often wins.

Main value = the list: if a publisher legally shares hashed emails/segments for ads & lookalikes-take it. Verdict: TRY for awareness/LAL seed; PASS if you expect quick leads.

We’ve built a 5.8M, continuously validated emails (incl. CoinTelegraph, Pinkrypt, CoinDesk, Decrypt, 2020–23).

I decided to break down three crypto media types I use most, what they are, who they fit, and the action they actually deliver.

📨 Press Release
Suitable for early or growth; L1/L2, CEX/DEX, infra; milestones only.

Expected conversion 0.3-0.8% to site or socials; measurable lift only in series of 3-6.
Efficiency coefficient 0.6-0.9. Price-quality index cheap but weak; value skews to price.

🗞 News / Feature / Reportage / Review

Suitable for mature protocols and major partners; infra/B2B with data or access; wallets/DEX/DeFi/ GameFi

Expected conversion 0.8-1.5% to site or brand search for news; 1.5-4.0% to sign-ups for reviews; features drive citations and partner inbounds.
Efficiency coefficient 1.2-1.6. Price-quality index pricier but effective; value skews to quality.

🎙 Interview & Native
Suitable for strong founder or technical lead and complex tech; B2B/infra that needs education.

Expected conversion 0.6-1.8% to subscribers, demo requests, waitlists; works best around big releases.
Efficiency coefficient 1.1-1.4.
Price-quality index mid to high cost, strong trust effect.
...when you looking for a full stack marketing 😆

"Anyone has experience marketing cryptocurrencies? What platforms did you use??"

Look, start with audience, not channels.
In crypto you market to two groups at once:

1. crypto‑natives who don’t know you yet;

2. a non‑crypto crowd from your second domain (wine, gaming, RWA).

Assume near‑zero overlap; build two funnels.

X/Twitter - news cadence, discovery; X Ads for intent + KOL hunting. Fast hypotheses, fast sign‑ups.
Telegram - big in CIS/India/MENA; Telegram Ads (TON) + paid posts in niche channels. Works for airdrops, mints, trading tools.
Reddit & Discord - community core. Reddit Ads convert when subreddit↔️offer fit is tight; Discord = organic (events, quests).
YouTube - not a community; KOL integrations + explainers build trust.
CoinMarketCap / CoinGecko - ad packs + community posts; cold but trusted.
Meta (FB/IG/WhatsApp) allowed with certifications; click‑to‑WhatsApp + Status/Channel ads in LATAM/India.

Keep in mind*
- cost per engaged member (TG/Discord)
- wallet connect, email, KYC
- first deposit/tx
- retention (D7/D30)
- LTV/CAC
- chat health

Costs (directional)

Back into CPL from CPC/CPM.
X CPC $0.4-$2; Reddit CPM $2-6, CPC $0.1-0.8; YouTube CPM $3-10, CPV $0.02-0.03; Telegram Ads = CPM (low floor).
Crypto runs 1.5-3× pricier than general.
Test budgets: X/Reddit $1-3k per hypothesis; Telegram posts $300-3k; YouTube KOL $2-10k+; CMC/CG from $5k.

Priority: X+Reddit - Telegram/Discord - YouTube KOL - CMC/CG/Binance Squirt - Forums
