PRE-CRYPTO
Before crypto I was “that guy who packages startups”: decks, logos, traffic sources for one conservative VC fund. Crypto was just another boring vertical on the menu.
We scaled to a 40-people in-house agency, opened an office, ran weekly crypto deep-dives, shipped a bunch of web3 projects… and then war + bear market + internal drama blew the whole thing up.
So now it’s v2: a lean DAO instead of a fat office. Closed Discord, 40+ narrow experts, max 5 parallel projects, everyone gets paid only for the value they actually ship.

Then it swallowed me.

Crypto killed my “normal agency” fantasy and left me with a better rule set: less ego, more transparency, decentralization, focus on people instead of the logo on the door.

POST-CRYPTO
Key insight: employees are not “family”, partners are not “heroes”, and money hates ambiguity.
Employees. During the war I paid salaries for almost six months with nearly no projects. The emergency reserve vanished, and only a couple of people ever asked if I was fine... Empathy is human, but headcount must follow reality.
Partners. A charismatic, talented partner can still be toxic and financially reckless. If someone demands “more money” without taking “more responsibility”, you are funding their lifestyle, not growing a company.
Finance. Even famous third‑party finance firms can mess up, lose data and guilt‑trip you over refunds. You can outsource calculations, but never control 🤷♂️
Run a crypto agency long enough and the romantic story dies; the unit economics and psychology remain.

Post‑crypto me designs systems where loyalty never replaces accountability, and every dollar moves by clear rules, not vibes.

BTC just dipped to around $73k. When that happens, the real question is boring but urgent: if you need to de-risk, what do you convert into? In crypto, most routes end at the same place: USDT.
Now the uncomfortable part. USDT is not neutral money. It’s a corporate dollar with admin power. The issuer can freeze addresses, and redemption is for a small club. Self-custody doesn’t remove issuer risk; it only removes exchange risk. As compliance tightens, a flag, a wrong risk score, a jurisdiction issue can make your stable unspendable.
I’m not here to stir panic. I’m saying this because I care about your treasury. Use USDT as fuel, not as savings. Diversify your stables and keep at least one clean exit path.
Most people aren’t “zombies”. They’re doing what works. USDT is liquid, everywhere. The market is built around it: trading pairs, OTC, cross-exchange transfers, and a big share of stablecoin traffic on Tron. Try to avoid USDT and you’ll feel how few options you have.

NFT mints
NFTs are a weird precedent: a digital receipt that can become expensive “out of thin air”.
Unlike a course or a SaaS, most PFP NFTs don’t solve a practical problem-so where does the price come from?
From scarcity + attention + shared belief (and on-chain proof that you own the “original”).
Reasons people buy:
1) Digital identity: “this is me”
2) Community: access, network, belonging
3) FOMO: fear of missing the next run
4) Emotion + aesthetics: you buy the story, the vibe, the brand
It’s the same logic as luxury tees with oversized logos: the cotton isn’t better, the signal is (and everyone can verify it).
If you sell NFTs, build that signal: clear rarity, recognizable creators, and “who already holds it”. Seed the first wallets-gift/airdrop a few to high‑status creators (with disclosure).

But the strongest driver is simpler: flex. In a survey of 6,000+ NFT users, 74% said they buy NFTs for status/uniqueness/aesthetics, and 47% named “standing out” as the #1 motive.
