Leafcutter Bees are another solitary bee, (like the mason bees) that live/work alone and not in a hive, that are very excellent yard pollinators.

Leafcutter bees are native to all of Asia and Europe but are also naturalized in North America.

Leafcutter Bee Home

Leafcutter bees use many different types of materials to make their home, such as reeds, wooden holes in trees, and sand, etc. To add more space for these helpful summer pollinators, try adding a reusable wooden nesting block, to host these bee's in your garden.

Wood is a natural habitat for leafcutter bees, which provides insulation and allows moisture to wick away from their collected pollen and cocoons. This block is made specifically for the leadcutter bee, with the holes being 1/4" (6mm) in diameter.

The front of this nesting block is burnt black to attract more heat from the sun, to help wake the bees up in the morning to start their day of forging food.

Greetings, Intuitive spacejumpers!
During this month of September, you are invited you to help us gather resources for our survivor-coordinated broadcast discussions about Suicide Prevention Month.
What prevents suicidality? You have important answers to share, as do we. Our favorite answer is Life Sanctuary.
Our public chat space, t.me/SanctuaryPeople, is helping to coordinate the broadcasts that will appear on our public broadcast platform at t.me/LifeSanctuary, on t.me/IntuitivePublicRadio, and across the Intuitive community network.
Please bring your favorite links, quotes, references, questions, creations, wonderings, and collaborative spirit to broaden our community dialogue about how to support, respect, and care for one another.
As September unfolds and becomes October, we will continue broadcasting in this channel set to expand our survivor-led public media and community bridge-building resources. If you'd like to add an idea here or there, or if you'd like to anchor extended broadcast content β€” all are welcome.
Join this public chat to participate: t.me/SanctuaryPeople/12
If you'd like to participate more privately, message t.me/maxmorris or t.me/johannabotanica to be part of a small separate workgroup. To participate from off-Telegram, email grow@intuitive.community and we'll help connect you.
Thank you for helping us draw together the best conversations about tending sanctuary, honoring life energy, and flowing nourishment to all members of our communities.

How to Navigate Life with Survivors, Part 37:

Cats who are survivors in need of sanctuary.

Currently we have a lil cat here who just wants a lap. He’s not totally aware of how to be safe with his claws around our bodies, but we are working on it.

I think about all the things we are NOT doing in response to his unfamiliar communications and expressions. We have no need to hurt him when his claws hurt us, to kick him out for not being how we want, or make ourselves upset when he’s around or by avoiding interacting with him. Nor do we have to run away from his complex health issues.

I do have an affinity for cats, and survivors, and some experience being in both survivor and helper positions, so that’s a strong starting place.

I’m finding that if he and I can safely negotiate his needs for body contact being met, he does less of the more-challenging things like climbing up our bodies or competing for attention with the other cats. And, once he’s had a cuddle, he seems to be fine being independent for a good long while. The first few times I tried this safe cuddle negotiation, it took a while for him to settle down- he seems to have been pushed away a lot and gets very persistent. He gets more aggressive when he’s being aggressively pushed away, but responds to consistent gentle cues very nicely.

Cat rehab! I think with ongoing attuned relating like this, he’ll be a great companion for some other humans, who I hope come and take him soon.

In contrast, if humans treat him roughly or get upset at him every time he does something that is challenging for them, he won’t have much opportunity to learn how to relate safely.
