Here’s the whole series from that composition

I almost always take three ‘pulls’ or prints from each composition when doing gel pad prints

On the first one, the plants provide negative space. On the second one you can still see their lines plus the ‘coral’ effects of pressing thick paint onto paper, and the third pull shows what was on the very bottom of the pad after most of the paint has been removed, and often still shows some of the plants’ lines

We’ve had a couple light frosts here and I’m winding up things in the garden.

Still have half the Tulsi to Harvest, plus the winter squash.

My brother helped me freeze some chard to eat later this winter and I’m so excited about that!

I’ve been really enjoying the green beans that I put in so late … only a few weeks of abundance but they are really wonderful.

Hoping the kale will last another month…

potato harvest, too, sometime soon…

Seeds: I am collecting a lot from my skullcap plants but that’s about it for seed harvesting …. although I’m removing nettle plants that are full of seeds from certain areas I don’t want them to spread!

My potted pepper garden was a huge success! I’ve been getting a ripe red pepper every day or two for a while now. the plants are only gonna last a couple more days , more frost is coming …. So I’ll be picking them all shortly. there’s maybe a dozen that are fairly ripe and another dozen that are still pretty much green . I’ll bring them all in and we’ll see how they ripen up ! and if any of them are hot- I’ll have to taste each one to find out but hopefully they’re all Sweet.

Wild foods aka weeds - I’ve been enjoying snacking on mallow and violet leaves, and baby dandelion greens, as well as chickweed . And a little bit of purslane that it’s in one of the pepper pots!

Herbs- Besides half the Tulsi, I’ve got a couple pounds of lemon balm drying. There’s more to harvest too. We’ve had a huge flush of gorgeous motherwort plants here, so I decided to harvest some of them to dry as well! I don’t usually use motherwort dried because it’s so bitter that it’s mostly not great for tea , and I like to make my tinctures with the fresh plant. But! I’ve been able to supply other Herbalists with dried motherwort a bunch over the years and I’m so glad to do that.

Houseplants are in! Whew. All 80 or so…. (Thanks mom and brother!!!!)
