🚨ALL OUT TO COLUMBIA THIS FIRST DAY OF CLASS, TUESDAY JANUARY 21. NO NEW SEMESTER WITHOUT GAZA. πŸ‡΅πŸ‡Έ (1/2)
❀‍πŸ”₯21❀5😁2😑1
We sent over 50,000 emails to Columbia and Barnard administrators demanding they DROP THE SUSPENSIONS, DISMISS THE CHARGES. Now, they’re deciding on the fates of 22 students for the Gaza Solidarity Encampment β›ΊοΈπŸ‡΅πŸ‡Έ.
Another 20 students will be facing hearings for the liberation of Hind’s Hall at the start of the semester.

Our power will not stay in their inboxes! NYC we need your support, show up to Columbia University on January 21st @ 1PM. Students, walk out!

There will be no school as usual as long as our universities fund and normalize the genocide of Palestinians.

Just this month, Columbia has welcomed back US AMBASSADOR TO ISRAEL, Jacob J. Lew, to its faculty where he’ll be teaching students all about how they can become ARCHITECTS OF GENOCIDE too.

Columbia, your repression has only fueled us. This semester we commit to fighting for Palestine harder than ever.

Gaza is our soul, our universe β€” we fight for amnesty, so we can escalate for Palestine. (2/2)

On the morning of December 11th, organizers with Demilitarize Brooklyn Navy Yard approached board members of the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation (BNYDC) as they arrived for the last board meeting of the year. We handed them letters demanding they terminate lease agreements with two of their genocide profiteering tenants: Easy Aerial (Bldg 77, Suite 610) and Crye Precision (Bldg 128B). These companies supply the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) with military drones and tactical gear to use in the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the occupation of Palestine.

WE DEMAND BROOKLYN NAVY YARD EVICT EASY AERIAL AND CRYE PRECISION, AND COMMIT TO PROHIBIT CONTRACTS WITH ALL GENOCIDE PROFITEERS!

The overwhelming response from many board members was aggressive and dismissive β€” rapidly shutting down conversation once Palestine or the word "genocide" was mentioned. Despite being calmly approached by community members open to conversation, they responded with hostile comments, cowered behind the erratic security, and demanded our removal.

During our action we learned that each board meeting includes a public comment section, which BNYDC does not make widely known. Two of our Palestinian comrades were able to enter the meeting and address the board with our letter that many had refused to read, share powerful personal statements, and emphasize the impact of Brooklyn Navy Yard’s complicity with genocide. We continued with our regular noise demo outside of the meeting to make sure BNYDC knew we weren’t going anywhere until our voices were heard.

THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING. We will be back Feb 5th for a PICKET + TEACH-IN during the next public board meeting. Now, we call on you, people of conscience, to join workers and community members to continue the pressure to meet our demands!

FROM TURTLE ISLAND TO PALESTINE, SHUT DOWN ALL WEAPONS MANUFACTURERS AND GENOCIDE PROFITEERS!

TOMORROW, HEAR THEM SPEAK. On Jan. 07, NYU issued 11 year-long suspensions to pro-Palestine students who demanded the university disclose its endowment.

After a series of continual baseless meetings and appeals, at least 13 students are now suspended from NYU.

Join these students, faculty and community members tomorrow on Thursday, at 12:30 for a press conference.

Following the press conference, students call for a picket at Bobst, where the university has effectively shut down all forms of protest in response to the campus movement for Palestine.

If they won’t hear our demands, and if they’ll kick us out β€” shut it down.

DISCLOSE. DIVEST. SHUT DOWN NYU TA.
AMNESTY NOW.
